  1. Col would be insane to start talks at this point, he has no idea what the structure or coaches are going to be like next year, our club is more of an unknown than any of the new clubs.
  2. I'd be shocked if he wasn't over it by now.
  3. Wait and see what Chip wants to do, but this season we should throw a big long term contract infront of him and do absolutely everything we can to convince him to stay
  4. a win. and mark of the year from jeremy howe would be okay too
  5. If the reason he wants to leave is to chase wins i can't see why he'd go to Stkilda, they have a few good veterans keeping them going as it is, Gold coast would be more attractive in that regard, depends if he just doesn't like the club and wants to leave to anywhere i suppose.
  6. Can't be resigned to defeat now, win a few games between now and then and show him we are on the right path and match the offers from the other teams, just because another team is looking at one of our required players doesn't mean we can roll over and cry in a corner. this is a must retain player.
  7. Put a three year contract in front of him that he can't refuse, he is vital.
  8. Pies might be expecting to lose daisy, would have thought col would be asking for decent coin
  9. It's the link on the first post of this topic, pretty sure Roo's and Eade are favourites. although i believe it has been updated since i posted that link.
  10. I think it's pretty disgusting that there are already odds on the next coach though, that's just shocking. fine to throw hypothetical idea's around but an actual betting market is pushing it.
  11. I think the biggest thing he would provide is an example, he would be great onfield but a bloke like evans or viney could say that's what an elite mid looks like and trains like, which i think would be huge in terms of fast tracking development of players, you look at Geelong, a young player comes in and has 6-7 250 game dual premiership players around him right away and they generally play well from the word go.
  12. Better to have them and not need them then need them and not have them. although i think Aaron davey would even be a better player than Gillies based on what i have seen.
  13. Neeld and Dawesy could drop round to his place for a coffee and innocent catchup with a chequebook
  14. Round 23 in particular, a good win would give us some momentum to attack the pre season with.
  15. Ross lyon said the same thing, but i had heard the players were all but told Lyon would be coaching them.. strange
  16. No, i choose to believe it's confidence playing a part rather than someone waving a magic wand and making undeniable talent disappear
  17. I actually tipped Freo to play in the Grand final this year, they look capable even without a bunch of stars.
  18. we have alot of weeding to do in that case, we lost to gold coast by 10 goals because our effort wasn't AFL standard, i'd say that's something the coaches and admin would be talking about quite abit
  19. My biggest issue is that team rule #1 should be give 110% effort at all times while representing MFC, when this fundamental is lacking you know there are serious issues, i would consider the constant negative press to be a very big distraction but lacking effort does not help anything.
  20. I am actually warming to the idea of Rocket coaching us, when he was coach of the bulldogs they had a real focus on speed and skill which i think would suit our forward structure perfectly, and he squeezed every drop of ability out of his players, they were a very good team in the company of Collingwood, Geelong, Hawthorn, Stkilda all at the height of their power at the top.
  21. If Richmond had have kicked straight we might have lost by 10 goals anyway, the biggest issue we have is we get belted in inside 50's, possessions and stoppage clearances, we actually matched them for centre clearances which surprised me. lots of turnovers between half back and half forward that is quite literally costing us games, no composure with the ball, being more worried about tackling as opposed to being first to the ball and making them chase and tackle.
  22. I have heard alot of people say that it's either Collingwood or Carlton for daisy in 2014 doesn't mean we shouldn't enquire but need to have realistic expectations.
  23. Our tall back stocks are pretty good for once Frawley Sellar Mcdonald Gillies Davis Pederson Garland Watts
  24. I think Tapscott provides a perceived pressure which is good, he hits bodies very hard which is fantastic to see, i thought Toumpas didn't get the ball much but looked composed and classy when he had it which is a welcome change, and Jetta adds abit of zip, certainly better than Nicholson but output isn't quite as high as i would have hoped, granted it was his first game for a while
