  1. Hearing reasonably strong word around the traps that Jack Grimes is attracting the interest of Richmond, Brisbane, Essendon and Carlton as a delisted free agent. really hope he gets another opportunity at AFL level, top bloke and gives it his all
  2. for me, Frost goes out, Salem or Stretch go to half back and Lewis plays on the Wing i know our backline looks a bit short with just the two but given we play a zone we're seeing our defenders sacrifice height in order to be aggressive anyway.
  3. On form alone he's absolutely worth higher, but i'd still be surprised if we had to pay any more than our third round pick for him, the Hawks are professional enough to know there has to be some value there for us, and it's clearly the right move for Lewis.
  4. As tends to happen in trade week i suspect a curve ball has come alone, i still personally believe the deal you suggested is what will get done
  5. About as reliable as anyone else on here i suppose? i guess we'll know by thursday next week.
  6. I suspect we;d have to offer up something else as well, though i don't think this trade is very likely in the first place.
  7. Here is how i suspect the AFL meeting over Jobes brownlow will go... Gil: So Jobe, your appeal failed, why do you think you deserve to keep your brownlow medal/believe you personify what the award stands for Jobe: I don't believe i did anything wrong, i didn't cheat, i didn't take anything illegal. Gil: Oh we believe you, it's just that pesky WADA seems to think your did. Jobe: WADA is a stoopid head Gil: we agree, they threatened to cost us money to try and promote something called "Clean sport" hahah what a joke, anyway, back to the subject Jobe: the dog ate my records Gil: Good enough for me, it's nice to know that Sometimes justice can work, why don't you have a second brownlow for being such a good sport? Jobe: thanks lad, off to get a quick jab and then i'll be straight back into training.
  8. What he's saying is that we'll trade our future first round pick, Dunn and pick 29 for Rockliff, pick 19 and a pick in the 30's and then pass one of those picks on to the Bombers for Hibberd, so as far as i can tell the trade is possible though i'd have thought it was unlikely. I strongly believe that pick 29 and Lynden Dunn would be enough to get Rockliff over the line, but we'd have to take serious care with his "Attitude issues" and contractual expectations, we can't spend big on him, and clearly his expectations in this area are a big factor in why he's getting little-no interest from rivial clubs.
  9. Thanks for the info chook, hearing much regarding Jordan Lewis?
  10. I completely understand where you're coming from mate, if this decision is based on form alone he's worth a good pick, 2nd in the B&F of a top 3 side is pretty handy, i guess the biggest concern being how long can he keep playing for
  11. Notice the word "Seen" suggesting he's read it rather than heard it or been told it, fair chance he trolls Demonland. Brett like this post?
  12. For Jordan Lewis and Michael Hibberd - very little For Jesse Hogan and Jack Viney - Hopefully a lot
  13. Moving the goal posts a bit now i reckon mate, Treloar is a match winner and an A grader with another decade in the game, Lewis has been a very good player but he's coming towards the end of a great career now. if you compare Treloar vs Mitchell you're talking about a match winner vs an accumulator, bit like comparing Nathan Jones to Patrick Dangerfield in my opinion. I reckon if a legend of your club asks you for a trade you facilitate the move as best you can, and i reckon pick 47 is quite generous, MFC could quite rightly point out that the Hawks have just traded a "better" contracted player for essentially pick 88.
  14. No idea, but i must admit i don't pay all that much attention to posts with "Inside info" outside of Chook in Perth these days who seems to be on the money more often than not,
  15. I agree, it's way to big a deal with way to many moving parts, which is why i suppose i appreciated it initially because it really is putting his reputation on the line.
  16. Not at all mate, i am very confident this deal will get done and get done at a good price trade wise.
  17. I reckon identifying sources by name or at least giving a really strong indication as to who they are is one of the sillier things that i've seen on here, but the interest in Rockliff is something i've also heard, though the deal he suggested is totally different
  18. It's a tough balancing act, if you don't post sources you're highly likely to attract the wrath of posters unless you have points in the bank, but if you do then you're really putting your sources in hot water if it gets out that they said something, which is clearly a risk in this case. good on Generation Dee for posting what he's heard with details, maybe not the source part of it though.
  19. I see where you're coming from, but i'd be staggered if Hawthorn realistically thought they were going to get any more than pick 47 for a 30 year old that wants to move and is a legend of their club. i reckon they owe it to him to facilitate a deal in this case, and if they're asking for pick number 29 it's simply not going to happen in my opinion. Hawthorn run the risk of damaging their culture if they continue to treat legends of their club poorly.
  20. The other factor that i believe comes into this is the way they're currently being viewed in the public, plenty of Hawks supporters feel they did the wrong thing by Sam Mitchell, and are quite annoyed with how this Lewis situation sits, i reckon they owe it to him and their supporters to restore some of the good will and do the right thing by a Champion player. i think pick 47 is more than fair, especially when you consider he's an unrestricted free agent next year who doesn't want to be there, the Hawks simply need to understand there is a huge chance they could lose him for nothing as well as another legend of the club leave under questionable circumstances if they don't come to the party with this.
  21. Lets be honest, if you want to become the laughing stock of sport around the world this is a good way to do it Hey guys, our 2012 league best and FAIREST is also a convicted drug cheat in the same year. it's embarrassing that the AFL didn't tell Jobe if the appeal failed he'd have to hand it back, this situation is black and white, it's Jobes job to prove he is innocent not the other way around.
