Training Ground?
The AFL and State Government will have an understanding re investment in facilities for AFL clubs and throughout the Feasibility process the outcomes, obligations, and timeframes would have been clearly understood by all parties. This notion that the Government or XYZ doesn't care about us is pathetic and not based on reality.

Training Ground?
I reckon with the feasibility out of the way and stakeholder consultation that we will see the Minister push this through quickly. I'm sure that the State Government are aware of how drawn out the process has been, the state of our facilities (the worst of all Victorian teams) and the impact on the club throughout this time.

According to Trump you could bring in illegal immigrants to eat all of the dogs so that there are no more dog walkers, only people who no longer have any dogs. Then the opposition to having an oval on public space dissapears.

Can't the Australian Open move. I hear from the East Melbourne dog walkers that the tennis makes a racket and the noise upsets the dogs.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Ignition, I think the review is about identifying the changes needed to reset the Club and our Football program off the back of the past few seasons. I would be really concerned if the CEO was not a part of this process as without this there would be no ownership of the report findings and resulting action plan. I would expect that as part of the review Darren Shand and his team if external consultants would review the organisations processes, interview people across the organisation, and present the draft report findings and action plan to the CEO and President prior to finalising the report. This ensures the CEO owns the report and its findings and the President's involvement also allows Darren to raise any concerns re the CEO directly. It is also worth noting that Darren has worked with the club earlier this year, a fact that is lost in the media, and in every likelihood his review was probably planned for months ago.

OD just tell them is for a carpark near a train station

Training Ground?
While the State Government has issues with its budget I would expect they will contribute a comparable level of funding to what they do for other Victorian based teams. Once the feasibility study is complete I'd expect the State Government to set aside funding in its budget to be released on the business case being approved.

Tony Charlton's Football Show: 'Norm Smith Sacked'. The entire 1hr live episode.
Great, wait until Paul Marsh gets wind of this and launches an investigation into the Norm Smith sacking.

I'm wondering whether it would be worthwhile for the Club to pursue a number of defamation suits with the media following recent reporting. If we prioritise which cases to pursue where we have factual and procedural details documented, such as the handling of Tracc's injury, steering clear of anything involving culture and allegations re player behaviour, and engage external lawyers then I would think we could line our coffers while firing a warning shot to the media, while setting the record straight with members and the public.

If queried on this I'd love to hear the club respond that the AFLPA didn't seem too concerned when Essendon were injecting unknown substances into their players.

These stats look pretty made up. That all 18 teams have numbers that increment by exactly 1,000 makes me question how these are calculated.

Kate Roffey Steps Down
At the 2 min 30 sec mark Trac specifically mentions Kate Roffey and the support from the club. Re speaking directly to Trac it was in reference to his frustrations raised with the Footy Department towards the end of season which were being managed by the Footy Department. As for speaking to his family, Trac and his partner had been away in Noosa to get away from footy so I'm not sure why the President would be calling him and his partner at this time.

Kate Roffey Steps Down
The narrative that Kate didn't speak to Trac is false and needs to stop. In his video a week or two after the injury Trac specifically mentioned Kate Roffey and how supportive she had been. In the recent interview re speaking directly to Trac she was clear that the Footy Department were handling player interviews and that her door was open should Trac want to speak to her directly. Trac and the club have been clear re his trauma and giving him as much time as he needs to work through this with Goody, Richo and the Leadership team in constant dialogue with Trac. It would be inappropriate for the President to be getting directly involved re his playing future beyond offering her support. While I'm comfortable that Kate stood down as President, as she didn't communicate to a level you would expect from the President of a football club I don't accept the narrative that she failed to communicate with Trac or that she is in denial re challenges at our club.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
I wouldn't believe a word that either of those two muppets say. It seems all they do is lurk around forums and regurgitate rumours sprinkled with the occasional fact and then speculate on very minor yet specific details to make it seem credible.

For clarity Trac did not recommit but rather released a statement that he remains committed.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
The media have no idea most of the time. They pretty much hear a rumour and then throw some speculation out there to generate a reaction.

What has happened to young Eddie? Seems to have gone to ground since the Tracc rumours started and haven't heard a peep out of him since. Pretty disappointing that he refuses to tell us what is going on.

Kozzy Homesick & Wants to Leave?
Watching the video the club did where Kossie, Goody, Oliver and McAdam spent time in Kossies hometown I would think in his situation it is less about day to day support and more being able to regularly get time away from the club to go home. Being homesick after not being back for 6 months makes sense and I'm sure the club will look at how Kossie and his family can get back home during the season next year.

What if we had a firesale?
Would there be any rules against trading out Maxy and then voting him in as our President while he plays for another club? Does anyone know whether player contracts restrict players from holding other roles in the AFL. Given Danger is the player rep for the AFLPA could Maxy play for say Collingwood while being our president?
-
What if we had a firesale?
The problem I see is that to pay 95% of the cap we would need to renegotiate contracts that existing players have not earned which would inevitably lead to underperformance. It's a bit like paying an artist a reasonable wage only to find that the material possessions make them less creative than when they had nothing. Therefore a no for me.

Absolute legend and arguably the best player in the comp over the past 5 years. Looking forward to his next 3 - 4 years.

Crickey, it seems like even the MRC executive are jumping ship to avoid being associated with us.
