  1. Darcy in for Lobb at the Dogs. Our backline claims another scalp Oskar B also gets a recall
  2. Suns should have that easily. Dogs backline is woeful
  3. A lot of potentially one sided games this weekend. Crows v Cats probably the hardest on paper but of course upsets happen
  4. The good news is that a better team would be taking the Pies apart
  5. Lovely typical Pies supporter hanging over the fence
  6. Three relatively lucky goals to Collingwood 😓
  7. What a terrible start by the Saints
  8. At the time there was a lot of open space once you got to Ferntree Gully/Wellington Road Getting there and across Springvale Rd might have been a challenge
  9. Yes ... it was to be a spur line from Glen Waverley station
  10. Not a good selection Assuming he's a sub he either comes on early due to injury and he's underdone or he comes on for the last quarter in which case it doesn't give him match practice. Reminds me of Salem's early return in 2022 They could of course do a reverse sub with him playing the first half and BBB the second Very strange
  11. Did have the looks of a legging but I'm not complaining
  12. What kind of fixture gives a team an away game followed by a home game at Ballarat as their first two matches? (The same one that gave us two consecutive games in Adelaide against SA teams.) I should no longer be surprised
  13. Straight up the middle rebound with the occasional angle Turnover and rebound is how we win plus accuracy on goal
  14. Very impressed by BBB's ground coverage against the Dogs. Took some marks on HFF and I saw him competing on the defensive goal line. Saturday is much cooler. I was disappointed in Fritsch's game until I noticed that he was taking the number 1 defender. Wonder how the Hawks will approach the allocation of defenders
  15. Many people here assuming the AFL want to help this team be successful/competitive in the short term. This team is not an AFL lovechild such as GWS or GCS
  16. Perth or Adelaide makes sense... (Canberra would be an interesting business case) The NT business case made far less sense than the Tasmanian one but perhaps they could play a few games in Singapore 😅
  17. Yep I thought they'd got rid of "victim evidence" a long time ago given the usual player code of saying "I felt nothing"
  18. See we are up against Qualifying on the F1 GP on Saturday
  19. The draft concessions will drive the early recruitment. Add in first pick of all Tasmanian juniors. Both the new club and the AFL have been very quiet on this side of things. I get the feeling that the AFL are not committed to the success of Tasmania in the open cheque book/ draft concessions which has shaped their approach to GCS and GWS
  20. 100 inch is fast coming down in price. 75-80 is the new cheap standard
  21. Took them 27 years, multiple priority picks,an Academy and multi millions of AFL support
  22. If you can build a roofed stadium for $750M I would be very surprised. Has any developer actually offered that price. Does Tasmania have the workers Based on cost per seat which is a good way of comparing build costs Australia had the highest cost in the world (Optus stadium in Perth) and the Gabba estimates are even higher
  23. Dogs are a 6-10 side. Hawks are a 10-14 side. If we are any good needs to be a regulation win in what is looking like a pleasant day
  24. Petty didn't even play four quarters of the VFL Scratch match and was relatively statless against a team that went 0-18 last year. Not sure he's quite ready
  25. Agree it will have to be something like that but what a mess. Imagine the arguments over whether that final section of byes should be alternated/random or fixed. Remember the AFL loves to manufacture tension not to mention blockbusters and if you get rid of the pre-finals bye you have the issue of teams playing interstate.
