yep It's been a problem in a few games. Especially if you are trying to play one of them into form. Realistically.. all eyes on TMac

Harley Reid
We'd effectively be paying around $500k for pick 8... certainly worth considering Have not watched GWS in a while. How is Haynes playing these days. Pity he's not a forward

Are West Coast tanking?
Newspapers now reporting that Simpson could be on the way out. Pennant St Dee's post above looks to be on the money... West Coast are contemplating parting ways with senior coach Adam Simpson and paying out his contract, with the club board making a call on the coach’s position over the next two weeks. A source close to the discussions confirmed that the club board would decide soon whether to continue with Simpson. The Eagles had indicated that he would coach into 2024 earlier this year in response to the team’s dismal results – they have lost five games by more than 100 points this year alone. But Simpson’s hold on his job has loosened over the past week after their 101-point loss in the Perth derby against rivals Fremantle. The Eagles had shown more fight in their previous two games, when they beat North Melbourne and came within a point of upsetting Essendon. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/west-coast-to-consider-parting-ways-with-simpson-20230817-p5dxan.html

Are West Coast tanking?
The Eagles are probably the wealthiest most supported club in the AFL and if not they're in the top three. Seasons like 2023 are simply unthinkable. It's not just losses. It's the performances and the margin. Be interested to hear from those in the West what the local media is saying. The injuries are real but their level of performance suggests deep structural concerns that can take 5 plus years to overcome

PREGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
TMac did nothing wrong on Sunday. Delivery as usual was atrocious into the forward line. Time to take a chance. Smith is not the answer as a forward. Hawthorn will play the corridor so turnovers will determine the outcome. Backline will be under heavy attack if we can't hold the line across half back

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Doesn't do much around the ground at VFL level which is an essential requirement for a ruckman these days. Hopefully he shows that next year. That was most likely Grundy's last game for MFC is my guess

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
I've stopped worrying about wins and losses at VFL level. The comp is a basket case. Instead I look for skills, gameplan and form. Today was a lousy example of all three against a less than remarkable opponent. Saw some glimpses from Deakyn Smith. Jefferson was break even at best. Woewodin still needs to take that next step. This whole season seems to be whimpering to a close on so many levels. Hopefully it doesn't but.... On T Mac... he doesn't deserve it but who else and perhaps Hawthorn and then the Swans in what is hopefully a dead game for us he might just provide the key to September

Do we have any kick to the forward 50 other than the sky high dump. Even bouncing it along the ground might be an improvement

Dunstan rarely hurts with his possessions at VFL level. At AFL level he doesn't get enough

Woewodin showing strength... looking okay for next year but needs that X factor

Had an open player (think it was Schache). Great he kicked it

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
Yep... he was always one good game away... I suspect that Casey (ladder wise) will fall off a cliff next year. They've been carried by White, Munro and Buntine who are all getting on. Throw in both Tomlinson and possibly Dunstan moving on and it's a quick spiral down

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
We've got him for another year as I recall and the senior forward line for next year is looking shaky. I hope they are at least trying to give him direction but my expectation level is low
