Maroochydore Training Camp 2020
Interesting the initial handball came from LJ - not sure about Kozzies first kick but follow up and evasive skills looked good
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Not too sure about that but hard not to feel sorry for him - something definitely NQR there It might be that he just isn't an AFL footballer - it is a not a career that works for everyone despite obvious talent

TRAINING: Monday 27th January 2020
Tom Sparrow looks a lot like a young Todd Viney if you ask me in pic 1

Ben Sokol
Mitch Brown ? really don't see the appeal personally Rather take a punt on a younger kid not picked up in the draft and hope they surprise

Rating Our 2019 Draft
Overall pretty happy and I think we have significant upside in both Jackson and Pickett - hopefully at least one of those 2 can have a meaningful impact quickly (my money is on Pickett) Not overly convinced with the Rivers decision I was very keen for us getting Jeremy Sharp but it was never going to happen with GC being so keen Trying to work out what the recruiting of Jackson means for the Weid and how much faith the club has in him to deliver consistently - I suspect there are lingering doubts

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it but check out the sign behind the goals at around 30 seconds into his highlight reel - hilarious
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Welcome to Melbourne Luke - a great city and the best team in the comp All the best - cant wait to see you raise the premiership cup with Maxy
-
What to do with Pick 10?
I really struggle to see the appeal in Weightman - from the little I have seen Pickett looks a better prospect
-
Our Forwards Ranked 5th Worst
Considering we finished 17th that's a step forward
-
WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - MITCH BROWN
Definite no
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Based on limited highlights package kicking clearly not a strength at least at this stage - hard to see how he could be a top 10 pick irrespective of his athletic ability
-
James Harmes Signs for 5 Years
Really like the way he goes about his footy - hopefully he continues to improve on the same trajectory Love the fact he is a Demon supporter - how cool is that for him to live out a boyhood dream Keep up the good work Harmesy hopefully the ultimate prize is not far away
-
Sam Gray
Personally think Jay Lockhart with a full pre-season under his belt has more potential Hard to get enthused about Sam
-
Preseason Draft
That's all good - but the reality is MFC has finished better than 10th twice in the last 10 years and played finals once - hardly inspiring stuff that fills you with confidence Like you I live in hope ever year but to say we won't be close to the top of the drafts for sometime is a stretch based on history and the past season performance wouldn't you say
-
Preseason Draft
Really ? do you know something that we don't - was 2019 a complete aberration
-
2020 AFL Fixture
Gee your probably pretty close to pinning the tail on the Donkey Deeoldfart - but very glass half empty approach at this point
-
Caleb Serong (Drafted by Fremantle)
Appears to be a bit slow - I would not think he is what the recruiters are hoping to find
-
Joel Smith Puts Luckless Year Behind Him
Good luck Joel - I am also a fan and think he can be a player given a reasonable run with injuries
-
Dr Peter Brukner
Assume this is good but not sure his role - presumably to support Darren Burgess from a medical assessment perspective
-
Need for another ruckman?
Haven't really seen much of Bradtke but I'm hoping he can really be a big improver this season as I have little confidence in Preuss ever amounting to much

2019 Player Reviews: #26 Sam Weideman
Fair call McKay, Curnow and Hipwood all look more promising
-
Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
What is there not to like? I know 3 mins of highlights is a very small sample BUT - can kick - can mark - not a whimp - can tackle Most on our list don't all 4 of those boxes
-
Phantom Drafts
Flanders highlights are not great - looks pretty slow and his kicking isn't great - a big no from me Young on the other hand is a great option
-
2019 Player Reviews: #28 Oscar McDonald
Rather fortunate to still have a spot on the list - hopefully can improve significantly in 2020 Definitely behind May, Lever, Petty and probably Hore for mine Probably kept his spot due to the movement of Frost who offered more atm IMO
