WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Sydee replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
My concerns remain the ridiculous and painful runup when kicking for goal the ridiculous hair the ridiculous staging for free kicks (with some considerable success I might add) I accept none of these are reasons to not embrace him but its not easy Our forward line is rubbish and has been for some time - Weid IMO still has a very long way to go and TMac seems destined for somewhere else sadly. Jackson could be good in years to come but will need time to mature -

They played finals and we didn't - could have something to do with it -
Fantastic to see CP5 move closer to his full potential - sky is the limit Hope he can consolidate and keep improving next year and get the rewards he will deserve

He would help our free kick for/against differential - gets paid more free kicks than anyone else in the AFL Not sure I could ever like the 50 metre run up when he kicks for goal - so ridiculous Lazy and doesn't apply pressure A few more goals from our key forwards - that would be good So torn of this one -
when did we leave ? I missed that update

Well I think that's your problem right there
-
The reverse to that is pretty scary A sustained period of losing and that becomes the norm - you have a fear of winning Wait a minute - sounds familiar

Agree I posted before the Sydney game that I hoped there would not be complacency - unfortunately that’s what seemed to happen no idea whether this is backed up by stats but I’d be amazed if MFC didn’t have the worst stats on winning games when they go into them as clear favourites - happens multiple times each season and it’s been an ongoing theme for decades. Good teams just don’t do that other than the occasional slip
-
Basic stats on disposal efficiency and efficiency from inside 50 entries (which is appalling) would suggest there isn't that much talent Sometimes it's hard to accept that our players just aren't much chop - apart from five to maybe eight of them I think the rest would struggle to get a game for the likes of WC or Geelong atm They include May, Petracca, Brayshaw, Max, Oliver, - you could mount a case for Viney, Lever and Langdon but the rest I doubt would be getting a run right now
-
sounds like a credible source - not sure what to make of that - the love affair was very brief if true
-
when was that exactly? Pert - well lets just be nice and say lots of bluff and puff but none of the real stuff (Success) - next ! Goodwin - I used to believe - but now sadly zero faith We have seen this cycle over and over with this club - they are the perennial tease
-
makes sense to merge with the poos and wees as our season is once again being flushed down the shi#er
-
Patting each other on the back ?
-
And this maybe why I smell a huge dump of complacency looming overhead - hopefully just a cumulus nimbus
-
Looked clearly over the line before the defender was even close to touching the ball - surprised they even called for a review TBH Kane Cornes wouldn't know if his ar$e was on fire
-
That makes sense to me - one of their best creators shutting him down very important
-
I thought they all had a rest last week - WTF
-
straight to the opposition - no change
-
I think it would have gone way longer than that - try 62 minutes at least
-
I'm all for that - been watching this tripe for 50+ years - with fleeting moments of partial success only to collapse into a complete rabble soon after Been so many false dawns lost any belief change is possible
-
An excellent point - we have so many complete duffers i doubt it personally The number of times last night I was left speechless at the complete a) inability to physically compete, tackle effectively, hold ground b) complete an effective disposal (other than directly to an opposition player) c) demonstrate any capacity to bring the ball inside 50 to our advantage was staggering - my money was on Port as i knew they were certainties the minute I read comments that we were playing good football the last few weeks and could win - hilarious - this sort of carp is served up time and time again by this group. The reality is this team is full of complete pretenders who seem very content with their paycheck and have either no desire or no ability to achieve real success
-
They won 10 games finished 12th and had a % of 99.5 - its not exactly an over reach to say finals are possible for them On the other hand - we were [censored] plain and simple
-
one of our biggest weaknesses
-
Interesting the initial handball came from LJ - not sure about Kozzies first kick but follow up and evasive skills looked good
