  1. It is beyond ridiculous - before the AFL decided that it was essential that Carlton play and win finals the umpires call was irreversible unless there was clear evidence to the contrary Well that went flying out the door quick and remarkably it always seems to favour CFC Hopefully there will be a system next season that is not so easily manipulated

Ok clearly you don't rate him Against the Blues He had more disposals and less game time than the following. McVee Fritta Bowey Jordon Smith Chandler TMac He chases hard, can tackle and when he gets the ball he is creative and does hit targets consistently. If you don't think that's correct, I'd suggest you don't watch too many games. I'd be sending Chandler packing well before Spargo - Chandler did SFA during that game and the same can be said of Jordon. You find out a lot about individual players when it really matters (finals)

So we get rid of the only bloke that consistently hits targets inside 50 - our biggest weakness Strange if true

I feel our biggest Achilles heel is both field kicking and goal kicking - a 10% improvement in both and we are probably playing this weekend Easy in theory but not sure it's possible to achieve without some different playing personnel - unfortunately some of our best players are actually also the worst offenders. It's going to be quite fascinating to see what the club does over the off season.
  5. I have a mate who is friends with Levi - his knees are about as good as BBB - look elsewhere is my suggestion

He is a suited to a pocket or flank - he doesn't have the size for KPB imo

Would be a big risk to try Disco forward but he is mobile and can take a grab - can see him adding more as a forward than Grundy tbh

Nah sorry nobody deserves to lose on a crappy score review system After our loss to Carlton we all said it’s going to cost someone a final - well here we are it has Its a farce

So Carlton only have to get close and it’s a touched ball on the goal line unbelievable

Comedy gold from the score review again Swans goal called no obvious touch - called behind what a joke

Mentally is Grundy still a Demon or has he already checked out of the building? I suspect he has at least one foot out the door as he is meeting other clubs while we ae still playing finals. We saw how effective Jackson was after his mind left to go west. Tomlinson can't compete with any big forward that has a) speed or b) can jump more than 5 cm off the ground so not sure he gets a game unless there is a specific match up that suits - I can't think of one in either Carlton or Sydney (which is the reason Turner played in Sydney) JVR shouldn't be suspended but we always seem to be on the wrong side of the Tribunal Laurie isn't ready for the heat of finals - I'd also say Chandler would be very lucky to retain his spot - personally prefer Spargo who while not a big possession getter is one of our best and most creative users inside F50 - something we are poor at atm. We lost this game because despite having almost double the number of F50 entries we continue to hack the ball in high and slow - unless we wake up and address that we are going to lose most games, particularly finals. Our efficiency inside F50 of 33% last night is really embarrassing and some real soul searching needs to happen very quickly.

Oh - a bit like the Petracca goal that the Carlton player clipped the ball on the goal line Sorry I forgot there seems to be different rules / standards applicable to whoever is the AFL darlings JVR had his elbow tucked when he contacted McFlop - nothing to it - if it was a Daicos or Cripps it wouldn't even get a mention
  13. Sydee replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
I don’t get why people think JVR will get suspended that sort of clash happens dozens of times in a final like this - no malice , elbow not high, don’t think he even hit him directly in the head , no injury Compare that with Maynard who according to some people has no case to answer Strange
  14. Interesting Dees now favourite on Sportsbet

Really annoying that Jeremy Howe feels the need to chip in with [censored] commentary about how we have mistreated his mate Brodie I would love nothing more than someone running through him (in a fair but brutal fashion) during the QF

If we have a forward in mind we may need a decent pick from a Grundy trade to help make that work

Probably would have run back home to Perth at the first opportunity

What do port have to facilitate a trade ?
  20. He's 35 - no from me Geelong might be keen
  21. Sydee replied to Random Task's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
    Or maybe both
  22. Agree - the second half wasn't too bad either - the only reason they got in front was a cheap free to Ash Johnson who kicked 4 for the game We kick straighter we probably win that game.
  23. Carlton has had so much "luck" at the Tribunal that I think it's fair to say now that "luck" plays no part in these decisions.
  24. Whoever, plays on Moore has to stop or limit his intercept marking and run. Not an easy task mind you as he is very good at both. From an athleticism point of view, I'd be leaning toward Smith but if TMac is moving well perhaps he's the other option they will use.

They do seem to have an air of confidence about them that their best is good enough. Even during the third quarter it never really felt the Swans would put too big a gap on us - like most games they had momentum and were getting their hands on the ball. Once we arrested the momentum its was largely one way traffic. Blown away by how skilled Fritta is - it was a joy to watch him live sinking daggers into the Swans from half chances that most other players would have butchered - he really is one of the most under rated players in the competition IMO. The only slight let down in the game was that the whole playing group didn't get over to the Dees fans in bay 2 after the game - not sure why because they would have received a stirring reception.
