  1. Is there an image of our ring available?
  2. Interview 'transcript' windsor-change-next-gen-talent-leading-demons-evolution He received a TV for the nomination so I love this little anecdote: "I've been getting into golf recently, and I've been practicing in the lounge room, and I was trying to [hit a ball] into a cupholder in the couch, and it didn't come off that well," Windsor said. "I hit the tv and completely smashed it, so it wasn't very fun, but I think this makes up for it now. "Mum just said, 'awesome, this is going in the living room straight away', she was a lot happier than when I smashed it." Begging question: Why on earth is he practicing in the lounge room 🙄🤷‍♀️
  3. That they should even consider calling it the 'Barassi' ring to honour his legacy offends. He was a down to earth, no fuss person. This grotesque and ostentatious token is imv not approriate and I suspect the last thing he would want. He deserves better and something more public. Give them a ring but don't name it after the mighty #31.
  4. At $50,000, $2.2m just for players!!! Plus some for staff. Its a ridiculously indulgent way to spend approx $3.0m. It will be closer to $6.0m if they add AFLW premiership rings ... Sure recognise all involved but $50,000 apiece?. If they really want “The ability to recognise all staff and make them feel special for all the hard work and to have something on their shelf is a good thing." Give them a small replica of the Premiership Cup. Perhaps personalise it with the recipients name etched onto it. so, spend less per person and put the rest into junior or country AFL.
  5. I would agree the GF teams are likely to be higher in defence. Which makes Freo interesting, making up the top 4 on the chart for defence with Syd, Geel and Dees. In fact they rank higher than Syd and Geelong. Our 2 games vs Freo will be very interesting. Not their year but Freo are building.
  6. That is what I said: The ‘window’ simply reflects each team’s %, derived by ranking then plotting each team’s pts for/against. ( I knew what the horizontal and vertical axes were. But looking more closely the axes names on the chart are very blurred). I think it true that the top 2 at round 8 play off in the GF . It was even true in 2021. While the WBD came from 5th at the end of H&A games they were 2nd at round 8. Reckon we would both agree the teams in the GF will come from the top 4 at seasons end (or even the top 3) - 2016 being the outlier.
  7. I chuckled when I saw that as they all looked so chuffed!! The ‘window’ simply reflects each team’s %, derived by ranking then plotting each team’s pts for/against. And there is a small affect for the number of wins/losses. So is it any wonder Geelong and Sydney sit in that quadrant. The chart is saying the top 2 teams at Round 8 play off in the grand final. The chart makes it look clever but it is hardly an earth shattering observation. The year that didn’t hold true is 2022. The top 2 teams at round 8 were Geelong and Melbourne. I am confident the top 2 teams won’t play off in this year’s GF. Melbourne will be one of those teams.
  8. That fixture looks much better after adding our two other double games: Eagles and Bulldogs. So, there are nine of the double games left: Lions x 1, (G) Pies x 2 (MCG), Port x 1 (MCG), WBD x 1 (MS), Freo x 2 (Alice/OO), Eagles x 2 (MCG/OO). All 9 very winnable but wouldn't be surprised or fussed if we drop one or two. The good news is we do not play Syd or Geelong again. Yet to play GWS and Ess of the current top 8. We will drop games here or there but I'm quite optimistic of a top 2 finish.
  9. For some inexplicable reason most of the media downplay our achievements. eg Foxfooty three word summary for us this week was: Regained some respect. Ha? eg When we beat Port, we didn't really win because Port won 'expected score'. No mention this week of how the Cats lost on expected score as well as the real score. I see most of them as media hacks and just laugh at all the stuff they write. And, I'll take great pleasure when we hold up the Premiership Cup. I will enjoy watching them eat their words.
  10. Goodwin has been appropriately praised for the coaching in this game. imv, McQualter's impact on our 2024 game style and this week's tactics is being terribly under rated.
  11. If Scott thought that he would be delusioinal. Every coach will go to town on what we did to also exploit the Cats game as we did, the only team to beat them this year. Scott may be arrogant but he isn't delusional. He was talking to the fans. He and the players know it was more than an off day. Afterall, the only team in the top 8 they have beaten is Carlton who are just hanging in their. I thought it was arrogant and disrespectful of him to 'manage' players and bring in some that were underdone. It backfired!
  12. One of the best sights: Oliver with no bandaging or protection on his hand. Bodes well 😊
  13. You don't sound it 🤣
  14. Hamish's article was published on the ABC website around midday. The WA radio interview was this morning. As yet bit a word on either mainstream on-line media sites: AFL nor Fox. Fully expecting the Broom and Carpet treatment. Or at best lip service and some weasle word statement from the AFL.
  15. Crikey, Mr D, I come back to DL to share some fun news and all I get is cheek !!! 🤷‍♀️ My return may be short lived. 😐 As to your question. No, I do not have a lisp in real life. I know what you meant so fixed the comment! 😊 Yes, the real life Luci certainly is 😊 . And a much nicer person! Thank you. 🤗 Double Thank you. 🤗🤗 Don't know what got into those guys today !!! Must be the imminent arrival of a full moon🌖. They clearly didn't check their posts !!! 🤷‍♀️
  16. From his letter to the AFL: "The tribunal and match review panel are single-handedly destroying the game. You are making it impossible to play in good spirit, you're making it impossible to adjudicate and you're not far off making it impossible to support". To write that, I would think he has the blessing of his parents, Gus and probably mfc since the Brayshaw family is very close to the club. It is about time someone in the industry called this out. No way the servile AFL media has the courage to do that. Go Hamish 👏 💪 👏 !!!

I don't really want Carlton to win. But. I do want Coll to lose. A loss this week closes their chances of a top 4 finish. 🙏🤞. And, with such a poor %, a loss could keep them out of the 8 and miss finals altogether !!! 🙂
  18. Of course! Thanks.
  19. Its times like this I really miss 'Gus and Gawny'. They would be all over 'Mouse Pack' news! Edit: As Gus is still working with the club, I wonder if they could resurrect the podcast, even if occassionally!

Saw this on mfc website about TMac mcdonalds-full-circle-back-to-the-future It is terrific to see him fit, healthy and playing good footy again. This comment from him caught my eye: "It’s a growing group of young Demons taking their place in the senior side that is giving McDonald that excitement about what’s ahead. “I think they call themselves the Mouse Pack,” he says. “Those six or seven of those boys. Van Rooyen, Judd (McVee), Howesy. All that sort of group that got drafted together and just hilarious. I checked that year's (2021) draft and counted 5: MSD - Turner. Nathional Draft - van Rooyen, Howes, Woewodin. Rookie Draft: McVee so I guess there are a few others in the 'pack'. @kev martin @WalkingCivilWar and other track watchers, have you heard or seen anything about the 'Mouse Pack'? Anyone else have any ideas what the name means and who the other one or two players in the pack might be? Love that group growing together just as Brayshaw, Petracca, Salem, Oliver et al did. The 'Mouse Pack' is our future. Great base for mateship and helping keep interstate players here. And of course, build another premiership team. Playing footy with one's mates - does it get any better than that.
  21. LOL. I noticed Eddie's lie ... couldn't see his face but I swear he didn't blink. I know a 4yo who has no problem telling a little white lie while looking you directly in the eye ... but they are so cute at that age ...
  22. I watched AFL360 a few weeks ago when Petracca was on and they invited young Eddie in with him. It turns out Eddie had been at training the previous day. I've just done a DL search of threads in which he is discussed and the ones below came up with clips of Eddie at training and/or on AFL 360. The second thread was a 'Family Day' training session.
  23. Eddie's training adventures continue. In the club rooms last week. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C50LlZkxNfC/?igsh=bWxkZ3h5Mm1jMGox My favourite moments: How Melksham teaches Eddie to 'look me in the eye' when shaking hands.🤩 Jvr introduces himself as 'Jacob'. Eddie hesitates for a confused moment and says: 'Hi Roo'. 🥰 Ah, the joy of childhood. a big hug for Petracca 😍 And how Petracca invites him in to 'meet the boys' - I suspect a friendship forged on AFL 360. Very impressed he knows all the players by sight and remembers their names. Note: If the above link doesn't work go to instagrams on mfc site. Apologies if posted elsewhere
  24. I agree that Oliver is being ‘transformed’ but my take is a little different in that he will be a better player than he already is as he feels more loved, and valued as the person he is warts and all. One aspect of the transformation is he always shunned the limelight. But look at him now! Chosen to model our ANZAC jumper – a great honour and implicitly equating him with the ANZAC spirit: Courageous, mate ship, sacrifice. Oliver has those in spades. Recently he has conducted several postgame interviews even when not BOG and has embraced the role of representing the club with humility and courage. His confidence is growing with the media showing him respect and love. They are implicitly saying no one cares about his past foibles. His self belief as a person is noticeably growing. My sense it is a deliberate strategy by the AFL, the club and the media. If so, kudos to them all. I’m loving watching Oliver mature as a person and come what may in his football I have little doubt he will be in a better place generally. Like you, just seeing him happy brings me joy.
  25. Haha!!! Its all part of the AFL's 'special herbs and spices' they use whenever they want to make something up that the rules don't allow. The confusion is in part because the AFL/MRO flip flops between assessing the action vs assessing/imputing the impact.
