You can add "dangerous pushing" to that as well, especially when it makes the player not in cinque with his momentum...
-
I'd like the emphasis on the "similarly proficient boundary and goal umpires"........one for all and all for one, we'll swing together......
-
How much do umpires get paid per game? I really feel sorry for them now. I think they should be paid at least as much as players and there should be a whole lot more of them.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 9
Willmoy1947 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Carlton fairly predictable with their spread, and also pressure to their backline could create a lot of opportunities for our fast little fleet. Us by 40 with no lookin's in the last quarter. Hope Garlett gets a go again. -
Are their heavier penalties in the rules for touching down umpires in contrast to touching up..............
-
There also had several Rep teams of Basketballers at Olympic Park which were pretty full on.
-
Were either of these players asked if they actually said the word "sorry" when they knowingly pushed (touched)the umpires? Plus the FACT that there is at the moment a degree of implication on the heads of these two Umpires as well, as far as i'm concerned, by their statements of non awareness of being manhandled......hmmm

Has anyone else come to the conclusion ,like i have, that it would appear that MFC supporters site kicks aars (ie, tells the truth) more accurately than any other and therefore runs the gauntlet (wrath) of the Imperial Senate.

Question 1 EFC, Question 2 hope so....

Not averse to what you say other than the MFC in me says if it had of been one of our blokes and also wait until after this game finishes.........

Again this is not the problem. The problem is big supporter Clubs in Victoria are down the gurgler at the moment. This week TWSNBN just dropped off the map for the rest of the year, and with them went millions of Dollars in revenue, which would have gone to guess WHO? It was more than just fate that Carlton got a great handshake at the tribunal. They are decidedly shaky at the moment and another loss for them would effectively wipe off, or begin to wipe their earning ability, especially Friday night exposure.Another big Victorian follower earner would be handy for the AFL They don't want MFC in the finals because we do not have a big enough earning capacity yet. And that includes being in the top eight, let alone the top four, with all those other Interstate teams. Eagles Adelaide, Port Adelaide, Sydney and probably GWS. Richmond, Collingwood and Hawthorn plus a competitive, successful TWSNBN and Carlton would have made a very nice Victorian batch for the AFL. Instead they could be stuck with us and a rejuvenated Dogs. It might not recoup all the lost millions but...........

By rights it shouldn't be blocks, it should be pushing Umpires out of the way.........
-
For a start for some people to suggest that the Umpires have NOT been told to keep their safe respective distance from melees, uncontrollable stoppages etc is ridiculous. That said these Carlton players pushed the Umpires. This year Hawkins gets a week, the following week two Carlton Blokes come up. They get off. Meanwhile Bolton, a mate of Hawthorn's Coach has probably been asked to support his mate from Hawthorn, (who probably put the word in, that got him the job there in the first place), in the not miniscule matter of Alastair talking covertly to Gil to stop the interference P/Fav Hawks...not just the rest of us, thanks for that. So is this all just a big fat red Herring to take away from the issue that should worry every footy lover.............interesting to see who we get to adjudicate our game and how they feel about their sanctity and right of "'no fear no favour"

Round 9 Non MFC Games ... Shanghai Dumplings
Willmoy1947 replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
If The AFL had any brains at all they would play about half a dozen AFLW Games there for points. They would just stack into the stadium. -
Yep, sounds like the snotty nosed kid who wasn't allowed to come up and play with the other kids at the big ground on Brunton Avenue and had to stay on the cow paddock on the corner and not get run over by the "bottlos" carts, and he's held a grudge ever since.
-
Charlie wanted to keep the Umpires away because he thought the Umpire was going to report other Carlton Players and his brother pushed the Umpire in sympathy or vice versa depending on who pushed whichever Umpire first............

Carlton 5....
-
Charged with touching, should have been charged with pushing. The wriggle room factor of, we need a day to get Carlton in and see what their doctor says about how sore their arms are and "a nice hot cup of tea" Then we have the no "standard speed" picture of the incidents, they are all slow motion to show a gentle touch not push.......bah

What this about us going to lose Jennings, Was brought up on Fox. Maybe i misheard what was said.

The AFL are so compromised. These two imbeciles didn't just touch the Umpires (sacrosanct, dominus vobiscum), they pushed the Umpires. Phil Carmen would be saying , join the club you blokes. Just on a side issue Cripps indicated in "On The Couch" by his answer to a direct question, on last year's game, from Lyon, i think , about whether or not Hogan broke his jaw, said that there was slight break in his jaw last year. The question still remains, when.........

Hang on , someone said last week that Max isn't in the best half dozen ruckmen in the AFL. How could he possibly be the second best player in the AFL by the Coaches?
-
It's called player rotation with aptitude for the occasion......
-
All we have to do is mention this incident here or criticise the AFL and they will report it, and Harmes has just had a breakout possession game as well...
-
Should we take a leaf out of another interstate club, year or so ago, and just not be there for the test.....
