Agree with this, and who is to say that Weideman, when ready is not going to strip a fitter, angrier, more confident, indomitable player?

I think what we have been talking about in the last few odd pages here are not only the tidy up points under the guises of influence called Yze and Williams, but a real development of players themselves to explore new tactics and learning off opposition. I reckon they have all spent hours and hours watching replays etc.. long may (no pun) it go on.

Personally i think the Weideman/ Jackson is a good problem to have, as they both are learning their craft, with an edge in versatility to Jackson around the ball and to Weideman with goal kicking. Their strengths being capitalized on from up field by the correct players will be commonplace hopefully this season.

The AFL have a two way connection with the Umpires. That decision needed rectification. The AFL is responsible for not implementing this change in an UNMITIGATED DISASTER that could change the season. As for the decision not being clear to UMPIRES that were very very close, those two collectively should not umpire again, along with the appropriate suspension of payments, until they improve to the extent where they receive from an unbiased group of neutral officials that they can carry out their duties effectively.

In my day didn't have to bother doing stuff after the play, the bloody umpire (sing) used to allow anything except fist throwing melees involving more than a few players, so you didn't have to bother about the rag doll [censored] footing...

Couple of suggestions here. Get rid of that ugly spectacle of over short passing with five minutes to go. It's a blight on the game and could be countered quite easily. It's probably the only high class sporting spectacle that should have the result go down to the wire, and it doesn't. It is not self suspenseful in my book, even particularly if it had have been closer. Play around with distance or bounce if two short passes in a row. Just bloody do something. I'm the last bloke to want Blues to win. there is no climax, ask the players?

There is a reasonably high degree of "letting the team down" in this saga that i would think would have most players there thinking....

Good footballer turned into Scott clone, so much more talented though, and free kick chaser, one eye on umpire seeing it, like his playmate. Bursts into contacts purporting desperation, sometimes it is and this time it isn't.....
