It does get confusing @Rab D Nesbitt as to which thread is which. As a collection of threads, I feel that  Demonland has provided us with interesting debates and insights into issues such as:

    • Racism,
    • Drugs and alcohol
    • Irish real estate

    Go Harrison, Go Dees!

And provided us with an endless supply of moralising serial windbags 🤪

Occams Razor suggests the simplest explanation.

Mine  , we just had nfi.

All players have worth...   strangely his was greater playing ...than not.

    All history now......

Every time there was a selection to be made Goodie & the BT took the conservative, stick to what has worked, option. There was a lack of boldness in our selections.

Grundy & Woewodin should have played.

    What absolute nonsense. Psychobabble.

All I did was question some list management decisions. Like anyone else, you then have the opportunity to agree, refute or disregard them. There are enough supportive people and ‘likes’ on the original post to suggest - shock! horror! - not everyone thinks like you. Hard to fathom I know but there it is.

Quit trying to shut down others by yelling ‘troll!” into the ether in the hope the moderators will censor discussion and ban posters you disapprove of. It’s a weak-minded, bullying tactic. Be better than that.

Hate to agree with someone referencing Tucker Carlson but spot on.

Binmans post was total psychobabble, an impenetrable word salad worthy of the worst management speak.

In any case a contract is a contract - both parties pay their money & take their chances.

However I would be surprised if BBB plays next year.

  4. Spargos first instinct is invariably to look to pass to someone in a better position and secondly to have a shot on goal whereas Kossies first instinct is to kick a goal and secondly to pass off.

I love Kossie & he is such a great snap that I can usually forgive him but if he is to grow as a player & the forward line improve he needs to look to review this aspect of his game.

Or if Melbourne loses tonight, is Goody in danger of becoming the new Bevo - the coach with the best list, yet the worst return.
Genius or insane? What’s your view?

A pretty shallow article. Injuries, suspensions & form means we don’t have a lot of options.

Yes, it's not how you'd intuitively pronounce the name "Doedee".

The origins of its unusual pronunciation date back to the 1850s when the Doedee family were very fond of the music of the American composer Stephen Foster.  They were particularly keen on his timeless tune, "Camptown Races".

Amazing what you can find out on Demonland.

Because that's how the Doedee family pronounce it.

I understand that but it still baffles me. Imagine if Steven May insisted that his surname be pronounced My or Petty insisted that his surname be pronounced Pet-tie.

    So was I.

I was expecting the 'Agin the Board' mob to be up in arms with mates of the board getting a leg up, lack of transparency, wheres my email etc etc etc.

Maybe they haven't coz they like the appointments, so then its......ok

Clearly some people feel threatened by democratic processes at play.

Hey @Engorged Onion. Thank you for your well articulated and thoughtful contribution. I agree with the notions expressed in your first four paragraphs.

What I would say is this.

The Love Shack and Jack Watts share the same characteristics, one of which is the inability to

Think its a bit unfair on Jack W.

Watching old Dees highlights of the last 10 years recently I was pleasantly surprised at how many times JW was instrumental at winning in close finishes.

His kicking was a weapon. Also apart from a form dip he established himself as a regular A grader whereas JS after several years & 3 clubs is still a B grader.

I have no idea why he wasn’t given any opportunity whatsoever this season. It just smells of potentially some personality clash, which reading between the lines, ended his St Kilda career.

He was unlucky. He was in good form & Goodie actually talked him up at a presser. Unfortunately he injured his knee & missed a month or so at the same time Clarry got injured & that ruined his chances.
