My discussion was with Picket Fence who claimed Clarry was better than Barrassi.

We are currently a bottom 4 side & Clarry is being paid $1.2M a year & delivering about a third of that in value.

Kolt and Sparrow out too
Only talls to replace them makes it an interesting week.
Do May/Petty come in? if so, for who?
One thing is for sure, whatever the selection committee decide, Goodwin made a mistake
Your comments about Lindsay & Kolt seem obvious to most commentators & supporters in fact everyone bar Goodie the đ€Ą

CLARRY CHOO CHOO just sensational for a host of reasons, a once in generational player, let not trials and tribulations of recent times diminish how great a player he was and still is!
GREAT MFC CHAMPION of the ages!â€ïž
He's miles from top 3. To put him ahead of RBD is shameful.
Way behind Stynes, Alves, Lyon, Hardeman, Wells, Jones, Neita & several others.
Still bombs away over the forwards heads - perfect punching practice for opposition defenders.
And in 2024 & 2025 he's been bog ordinary.

I wonder how much selection integrity counts towards team cohesion & confidence in the coaching group.
Most supporters were perplexed when Tom McDonald was dropped despite solid form.
The continued selection of Windsor & Tholstrup despite playing poorly is also mystifying & it looks like Lindsay needs a rest as well.
I'm not a fan of Jack Billiings but after a month of good form at Casey it's hard to understand why he is not selected.

The AFL have shamefully allowed player interference to go on without reprisal.
Players attempting to mark are interfered with all the time. Max gets interfered with at almost every marking attempt.
Every good ball player gets grabbed and held and impeded at every contest.
Wrestling happens at every ruck contest.
Watching the 1964 GF was like a breath of fresh air. Players went for the ball not the man.

However âŠ
If we lose to this north line up missing three of their top handful of players I will probably climb aboard
Not sure there's any room left in the boat

This thread must in some way be cathartic for you guys âcause Iâm reading the same shiite over and over and over and over again.
Either that or you just luv sticking the knife into anything MFC related. But that cannot be right because we all love the Dees donât we!?
Please tell me what your intentions are next year when (if) Goody is still coaching us. Is this thread going to keep on keeping on for another year? If so I wonât be reading it. I value my sanity too much.
The Goodie acolytes will keep their Conga line going while those that care about the Club will work for what's best for the team.

1 hour ago, seventyfour said: Why do people say this like winning flags is easy. It drives me nuts.
How many have Brisbane won recently despite being a top team for years? 1.
How many have Geelong won recently despite being a top team most years? 1.
How many times has Sydney won from their last 5 times playing in that the GF? 0.
How did Collingwood go after winning in 2023? Didn't make finals.
I've lost hope & so have thousands of other supporters who will not sign up or attend games.
Reminds me of 1976 when a late run saved Bob Skilton who should have been sacked but was kept on & wasted all of 1977.
12 hours ago, titan_uranus said: We were competing for them. We made the final 6 instead of the final 4. Itâs worse, but not that much worse.
If weâd lost consecutive prelims in 22-23, this board would be saying the exact same thing about Goody: âwon a flag then couldnât even win a single prelimâ.
@seventyfour is right. Winning flags is hard. Itâs frankly insane how many people on here roll out the whole âwe should have won multiple flagsâ line. At the end of this year, at least three of the following will be true:
Collingwood will have won 1 flag from 4 seasons under McRae, despite having a stack of talent and a dream fixture
Brisbane will have won 1 flag from 7 seasons of finals, despite their incredibly talented list
Geelong will have won 1 flag in the last 14 years under Chris Scott, despite being in the Danger/Cameron/Stewart era
the Dogs will have won 0 flags in 9 years despite having a list and midfield depth to die for
Jeez the Conga line of Goodwin acolytes & apologists is pretty resilient - reminds me of the Rev Jim Jones episode.
FWIW my mates who have been members for 50+ years now refer to him as Goodie the đ€Ą

Goody is absolutely accountable for the good and the bad
I just donât see the need to say it constantly
The problem is costing us in rebuild time and $$$.
We are going backwards or marking time & among the supporters I know (50 or so) many have lost hope & won't attend games or upgrade memberships until Goodwin goes.

1 hour ago, DubDee said: You don't think Ross Lyon had a talented list?
Their 2009/10 team was excellent, better than our 2021 list imo
Of course Lyon had a talented list but you totally ignore the completely wasted years & failures under Goodwin.
Goody arguably had the best defence, best midfield & best ruck in the league for 4 years.
You also ignore the fact that the problems that surfaced in 2022 are still obvious in 2025.
Goodies explanation is usually a half arsed joke about Choco working on our goal kicking.

He gave a speech at our high school. In it, he said an opponent asked him why he was on the left hand side of the ground when he was a right-winger.
RIP Brian.
Think you are stretching things a bit here FD.
He had long arms like Robbie & was certainly a very good mark for his size but no way was he the best mark of his era.

1 hour ago, Doug Reemer said: If you look up Simon Goodwinâs Coaching record.
His Winning percentage is the same as Ross Lyonâs. Yet he gets none of the same respect Lyon does.
He has the 3rd highest winning percentage of any melbourne coach to coach 200 or more games.
This puts his coaching record into perspective.
The difference is Goodwin has wasted a very talented list. 1 Premiership when we should of had 2 or 3.
2017 was a disaster for the Club. 2019 & 2020 were totally wasted. Ditto 2022. 2023 he was unlucky.
Can we talk about Kolt?
in Melbourne Demons
Think you are missing the point - which is that Kolt has been woefully mismanaged this year.
He was rushed into the firsts with no form & not much fitness.
He should have spent a month at Casey building up both.
This is a dreadful way to manage a young player.
Lindsay & Windsor & McVee have also been poorly managed this year.
