Mcvee what a debut, alot to like about the young lad just oozes confidence and class by foot.
Our depth is insane.
Yep he was impressive. Long may he run out of defence.

Baker showed last night why he was 2 years late in being delisted. Can't believe he and Hannan are running around at AFL level as we speak.
Whilst Baker has good speed it's his inconsistencies in game to go missing for greater periods of the game, and also his tendency to butcher the footy under no pressure is why he's played 1 AFL game in two years. 5 minutes into the 3rd and at one stage Baker had only 3 disposal next to his name...
I can imagine some of the current Dees players would have had a little giggle to themselves in being perplexed seeing his name on the team sheet come round 1.
Don't like him do you ?
Can't believe some of the spiteful comments made about Baker on the site.

Laurie probably holds his spot for another week given a likely Pickett suspension. Thought Laurie was fine off limited touches, enjoyed his handball to advantage for his first possession.
McVee looks like one of those players who just has a bit more time than everyone else, looks like he has a lot of natural ability. Also took some somewhat aggressive kicks with success.
Laurie looked mostly clueless today just like he did in the practice game.
Not currently up to it by a long long way.

Sorry but this is just wrong. His disposal barely improved in several years on the list - he's a real butcher. As in, was the worst kick on our list. It was not close to anyone else on the list aside from maybe our lumbering
and he'd be close to the worst amongst all starting 22s at doing so.
Absolute gobbledygook. Not sure where u dreamed this up from. I watched every Casey game in 2022 & Oskar's disposal was fine.
Maybe you have some objective facts about disposal efficiency.

Not known for his quality disposal and he was vying for a spot in a midfield that had widely-acknowledged ‘forward connection’ issues.
The dogs are perhaps less worried about ‘how’ he gets it in there (because they’ve got so many marking options)?
Hope it works out for him - from round 2 onwards, of course.
Should have been tried as a small defender to replace Nev Jetta - had pace, aggression & overlap running.

Came down from NSW and went to the Grand Final and explained to my daughter that Oscar missing kicks by 10 metres in a VFL game (albeit a Grand Final) would make the transition to an AFL side where it is quicker and more intuitive harder.
Thats pretty unfair. While his disposal wasn't elite it clearly improved & was as good as several on the senior list.
Also the Grand Final was played in shocking wet conditions & almost every player miss kicked the ball that day.

I'll be interested to see how the 3 go for the game & season. I watched Casey last year & thought Baker the better player by a mile. I thought the fact that he only got 1 senior game in 2 years showed poor judgement by our coaches.
Good luck to all 3.

As in he chose not to play?
Well it was all couched in vague language - think the Club said he had fatigue but there was a fair bit of negative speculation at the time.
Don't think he is on the Lions xmas card list.

Yep, but two clubs have already let him go. That's a bit of red flag for me.
And in his final season at Brisbane he did not play finals with his local QFL club which did not impress his team mates

And every other day, except most of us men are just too selfish and stupid to admit it.
Mm interesting way to categorise half the population.

I saw a fair bit of him at Casey last year & thought he was pretty ordinary. His form last week was a revelation and I hope that he continues to prove me wrong.

Sorry for the misunderstanding @Orion. I thought your observation about JVR was spot on. Love your work. Long may astute observations such as yours reign on 'Land. We need people like you as a counter-weight to people like me (and certain others - you know who you are 😍).
I thought it simply showed that Orio doesn’t understand sarcasm.
And clearly is a very poor judge of footballers. I watched most Casey games & JVR is an outstanding talent. His season was almost as good as Fritters before he was recruited. He well deserved his selections as an emergency last year.

his skills outside match-play and early practice scenarios could develop to an impressive level once he is 'systemised' with experience, mentoring and the stabilities of stepping stone functionalities.
I'm not quiet sure what that means but he has been mentored and systemised at Port.
Just having a famous surname doesn't always cut it.

Having been to a number of training sessions, I haven't seen anything from Burgoyne which would justify a spot on the list. He just keeps getting caught trying to do too much. His position is even more doubtful when we have the likes of AMW and Deakyn Smith who have been in the system already and have that "something possible" in the way they play. Burgoyne would suit a spot at Casey if they can fit him in on their list, so that he can at least show his wares.
Turner offers more for us today and is suited to multiple roles. But really, at the moment we don't NEED either.
Shame about Burgoyne then as we could really use a small quick pressure fwd who can kick goals to help out Kossie.
A Ricky Jackson or Jeff Garlett in their heyday would round the team off beautifully.

He should be investing in developing skills that he can use post football.

I know its a tough job running the Demonland site but can't you guys block out fake ads ?
The phony ads using David Koch to promote dodgy crypto currency come up all the time on Demonland are clearly trying to scam people and are probably run by criminals.

Sheeesh PF ease up. For all we know maybe he's just happy pulling on the boots at VFL level and playing footy at the best level he can.
Can't blame the guy for having a go. His skills are silky as, has good footy sense and I recon he'd be good enough to be a good player at VFL level. If he wasn't 30 and didn't had the issues with his body, I think AFL would be well within reach, but I'd agree that's a long shot based on the indication of that we saw in 2020 of his physical ability these days.
You seem to be running a one man Bennell fan Club promotion. HB is clearly delusional about what he has to offer.
Apart from the fact that he is over the hill & injury prone he has a history of indiscretions at all 3 clubs he played at.

What other Club would have Rivers Brayshaw Bowey and McVee as
Surely you're kidding about McVee. I watched most games & he did absolutely nothing at Casey & was well behind several Casey listed players in effectiveness.

Was overlooked despite very good form like a number of other Casey players.
Instead the BT kept playing injured & out of form players which eventually caught up with us & we were punished accordingly.

Based on what little I know, I wouldn't be averse to him playing with Casey. From what I recollect, his attitude and application around the club had been reported as pretty good bar the one incident at the end.
Yep lets recruit a 30 year old who has been a poor role model, has history of misdemeanours & played 3 games in the last 5 years. Just what we need to take the club forward.

I thought in 2022 we were a bit slow & needed more leg speed coming out of defence, up forward & across the centre.
We then lost possibly the 3 quickest on our list Hunt, Bedford & Baker.
Our drafting was mainly KP talls who have good potential but I'm worried our lack of pace could be a real problem in 2023.
