  1. I wonder what compensation Melbourne would get, if any, if he were to go? I’m liking Geelong less and less these days.
  2. Can’t work out which is worse - watching Melbourne or having to put up with LIng’s mindless drivel.
  3. They should fly up on Sunday morning. It would save on accommodation and make no difference to the result. Plus, they’d have an excellent excuse.
  4. Not such a bad performance given our injuries. At least that’s what I thought as I left the ground. Then I checked our injury list. Only players of note who were missing were McDonald and Melksham. There’s a possible case to be made that we’d have won with them in, but it still doesn’t excuse the long periods of sloppy play, lack of teamwork and fumbling. Hopefully, we’ve found a forward in Petty.
  5. I’d like to have a few weeks with them both playing. Can’t be any worse than what we’ve seen from the team this year.
  6. I’m quite proud of my display pic. It’s what should have been in 2000. I got it from a friend who got it from someone at the Herald Sun.
  7. Cheeses!
  8. ‘Mr September’!
  9. Why are we wearing Essendon uniform?
  10. Funny line from tv commentary in Q4 re Brayshaw: ‘The helmet’s off but he keeps his head.’
  11. Finally. And we’ve beaten a top 2 team. And it’s another year better than the previous one. Thanks Roos, thanks Goodwin.
  12. Not to mention sacking Norm Smith.
  13. I challenge anyone here to not be in favour of a send off rule given what occurred to us in the 2000 GF. Essendon capitalised on having their players allowed to continue on field after committing severe, reportable acts. As a reminder, from The Age: ‘Michael Long's shuddering knockout of Troy Simmonds - which earned him a four-match ban - and Dean Wallis served out his three-match penalty for striking Brad Green, a blow that resulted in the young Demon being taken to hospital’.
  14. ‘Noting less will suffice’ sadly sums up the expectations of we long-suffering Dees supporters.
  15. Nice post. This should keep us going through summer. Need to find a spot for Shane Woewodin, 2000 Brownlow medallist.
  16. Thanks for alerting us to this well-written, thought provoking article WJ.
