  1. First time I have smiled all week. Great news.
  2. I am still feeling terribly upset after Saturday's loss which is unusual for me as I am usually OK the next day. At work yesterday a male colleague confided that he went outside and had a bit of a sob after the game. A Carlton supporter colleague told me he felt more upset about Melbourne's loss than Carlton's loss. Even my husband is being nice and telling me we will still make finals. I don't think I can watch the game on Saturday night so I have booked tickets to the movies and will check the scores when I get home. I did not feel the pain so much when we lost to Collingwood at the end of last season as I was sitting in ICU supporting a family member for four days who nearly died from the flu so those few days were a bit of a blur. I hope I can break this feeling of doom and gloom.....
  3. As a child and young teen I went to nearly every Dees game with my dad but he point blankly refused to take me to a game at Geelong. As an adult, I did trek out to Geelong once and once only. I understood my dads reasons after that.
  4. Tattooed would be even better.
  5. I woke up this morning hoping I had just had a bad dream last night and we had won. I am interstate at a conference and the hotel TV was only showing the Brisbane game so I relied on a few apps and Demonland to keep up to date. I just feel so sad and quite teary this morning. I haven’t obviously watched the replay and not sure if I want to when I get home later. Usually I get sulky but I am just plain sad ? I am ready to murder my husband as he keeps reminding me the Pies are in the top four. I really hope the Tigers smash them next week. The conference was a waste of time, the hotel was terrible, I haven’t slept properly for two nights courtesy of a lumpy bed and noise from the nightclub next door. And now I am trying to come to terms that we won’t make finals again this year. All in all a weekend from hell. i need to go home and hug my dog but just got a text to say my flight has been delayed ????

  7. Ive been told by one of our players partners that quite a few of his former Dees team mates will be at the game supporting Jack. Nice touch by the boys. Shows how respected Jack was at our club.
  8. What could have been .....sigh

Finally caught up with my source this morning who told me that Gaff definately wants to be a Demon next year. I pressed for a bit more but that’s all he would give me.

I will check in with my source this week and report back.
  12. Loved every minute of that - thanks so much.
  13. The only shining light today for me. What a star.
  14. Love him, love him, love him
  15. I agree - read the article over breakfast.
  16. Just saw Birdman on the weekend. Great cast - Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts. Fantastic acting, a little off beat but I thought it was amazing.
  17. I saw Fury on the weekend. Set towards the end of WW2 about a group led by Brad Pitt who operated a tank. All different personalities - worked great as a team. Quite heavy stuff - but I enjoyed it
  18. I loved Gone Girl. I read the book earlier this year but still really enjoyed the movie. The cast were perfect - exactly how I pictured them while reading the novel. Not sure who's side I was on in the end....
  19. Jazza - is that the movie with James Franco about the end of the world and they are all at a party? I thinks it's called This is the End. If it's the same movie - I totally agree with you . What three movies were ahead of that one?
  20. Went to see The Equaliser last night with Denzel Washington. Apparently it was a series in the 1980's - I don't remember that. Basically he is a retired FBI agent trying to live the quiet life and takes on the Russian mafia. I didn't mind it - it was very, very violent. I liked the story line and I thought Denzel Washington played the part well. Off to see Gone Girl this week. I loved the book, couldn't put it down so I am really looking forward to the movie.
  21. Here we go again..... More torture.
  22. Just saw Boyhood today and really enjoyed it. These used the same actors for 12 years and followed this boy Mason growing up from a six year old to an 18 year old. The cast were terrific - Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke played Masons parents. It was quite a deep and long movie ( nearly three hours) but I thought it was brilliant.
  23. Last night BT was in raptures over the size of Ollie Wines thighs - I found that all a bit disturbing. He mentioned it several times.... But as my mother used to say "you get what God gives you". I think it was meant in the context of the children you got lumbered with! We have Jimmy, he seems like a nice bloke and I am sure he will come good.
  24. I have just been to see the new Woody Allen movie - "Magic in the Moonlight". I really enjoyed it. Was witty, kind of cute and I enjoyed Colin Firth and Emma Stone's bantering. Whilst the age difference seemed a bit much from a romantic point of view, It was quite OK. Jackie Weaver also has a small role. I was not a fan of Woody Allen's earlier movies but I did like "Midnight in Paris" and "Blue Jasmine" so I am warming to him.
  25. The other movie that I am excited about seeing is "Boyhood". It was shot over 12 years with the same cast and is basically about childhood. Apparently it is the only movie ever made over such a long period and has got rave reviews.
