  1. Wow! When did this happen and what did you talk about?
  2. That's right. So this 'understanding' that the journo is referring to is based on the word of a bloke who in the past insisted hogan was going to Freo. Im sure he'll stay but there's nothing in this article that we didn't already know.
  3. Then went on the rampage for the rest of the season and ended up making the prelim.
  4. Really? Someone on here said that Bartlett told them we weren't trading Hogan. The journo probably got that bit from here. And the quotes are just ripped out of the fox interview. Also describes McCarthy as a goal sneak which suggests the journo knows nothing about footy and is too lazy to write 'cam mccarthy' into google.
  5. Gee people lose their [censored] over one result! Two weeks ago we almost beat Adelaide who are better than WC. Sure, I'm definitely not tipping us, but if u think we are 0% u haven't watched much sport.
  6. I doubt he's actually waiting to see how we go. He's just got to say something. He can't really say, "I'm definitely staying, just playing hard ball to get a bit more cash out of the club" or "staying? U joking?".
  7. Jesse obviously not a big soccer fan - pronouncing the J in Juventus!
  8. Thanks for the recommendation. Will take a look.
  9. Honestly mate, there's about 400 threads where you can whinge about how terrible you think we are. Can we at least have one thread that puts a smile on our faces?
  10. I reckon we're a sneaky chance. I don't really rate West Coast and we bounce back pretty well from bad defeats these days. Hopefully Lloyd does something really brave and publishes a hatchet piece on how bad the Dees are on the morning of the game like he did last year when we played Geelong. Clearly thought it was a good time to get stuck into the dees as we were monties to get belted at Kardinia Park. Hahaha suck [censored] ya [censored]! Anyway, to answer the question from the OP - I will lose my [censored]!
  11. I asked the same question of my old man during the dark times of 2013. He reckoned this decade has been worse because at least in the 70s and 80s we had Robbie. Also, it might not be that relevant, but I think our winning percentage was higher between 64 and 87 than it has been between 06 and now.
  12. Hard to go past the 94 and 98 Finals series'. Schwarta lit up the 94 series and the wizard lit up 98. The last couple of weeks of the home and away in 98 and then the finals series was probably my favourite period as a Dees fan. I don't reckon there'd be many times in Demon history where we played in front of more than 50k 5 weeks in a row. For some reason, the 2000 finals series never captured my imagination like 94 and 98. Probably because we all knew in our hearts that we were going to get done by Essendon anyway. Apart from that, my uncle took me to our last game at Victoria Park when I was 6 or 7. Collingwood were on top and we were about 12th or something and we won by about 7 points with Jacko kicking 7 or 8 and giving the crowd the bird after every goal it seemed like. I couldn't see half the ground for the entire game but I didn't care. To be honest, standing on a frozen terrace down at Kardinia Park last year with 6 or 7 demon supporting mates all three sheets to the wind behind the goals as the dees stormed home in the last quarter was pretty special - made up for a lot of forgettable days at the footy in the last decade. I'd bloody love us to play in another final. You remember finals forever. That's why I was so shattered with how we played on Sun cos I thought we were still a sneaky chance this year. Don't know what I'd do if we ever won a flag - would probably just spontaneously self-combust. Not a bad way to go really.
  13. Sorry for getting your hopes up with my previous post mfc podcast.
  14. And when you improve and move up the ladder, you tend to get more wins against teams that are below you
  15. Ok, so I've decided to cheat my employer and destroy this 'we don't beat anyone good' garbage once and for all. - Under Roos, 27.78% of the victories we've had have been against teams that played in the finals (2/4 in 2014, 2/7 in 2015, 1/7 in 2016). I challenge you to find a team that has been as poor as us at any time in football history that has had OVER A QUARTER of its wins against finals teams. That doesn't include our best win in a decade against Geelong at Geelong! And that's slipped this year - it was 36.36% at the start of the season! - Under Roos, 55.56% of our wins have been against teams above us on the ladder (4/4 in 2014, 5/7 in 2015, 1/7 in 2016). How can anyone say we only beat the poor teams when OVER HALF of our victories are against teams that are above us! Once again, that has slipped this year. It was a whopping 81.82% at the start of the year. Last year we only won 2 of the 6 games against teams below us. So really, when people say we don't beat anyone good, they really mean "we haven't beaten anyone good this season except for the time that we did". If you wish to continue to believe that 2 + 2 = 5 then that is your prerogative and I apologise sincerely for my pesky "facts" and "things that happened in real life".
  16. Well, I definitely won't be tipping us, but we're a sneaky chance. West Coast aren't much good and we've bounced back from poor performances in the past e.g. Rnd 3 this year. We beat Geelong in Geelong last year, Adelaide in Adelaide the year before. Also beat two finals teams last year in the Doggies and Tigers. And we've beaten GWS this year. I'm finding it quite funny watching the 'we never take any scalps' brigade pretending that things didn't happen :).
  17. I agree that potential is just potential and that there are a lot of if, buts and maybes with regards to whether a player with potential becomes elite. But I think that we develop young players pretty well these days and I reckon these three have shown a hell of a lot more than most young players. If Brayshaw and Oliver don't improve for the rest of their careers, they would still be bloody good players.
  18. I reckon they'll all be as good as Jack Viney by then. Imagine 4 Jack Vineys running around!
