  1. Does Kane Cornes have disproportionately tall ears?
  2. Aside from the obvious frustration about Mac, I gotta say it’s really good to hear from those seeing the tangible benefits of these talent pathways. Its obviously a difficult story to tell from the clubs perspective, as they are trying to give the public the information they want about AFL players and plans. So when you don’t hear almost anything about them it’s hard to know if the plan is working as intended. It’s nice to hear it is. The AFL should never have changed the rules in the first place. They should be doing everything they can to encourage these pathways.
  3. I was at the footy with my dad when he kicked 11.8 against North. He was a freak. Credit to the @demonland crew for securing the interview with the great man a few years back too. It was a brilliant listen.
  4. If I had 6 All Australian jackets and counting, and was one of the greatest ever players to pull on the red and blue I’d have a sizeable ego too, yet I don’t think that was ever the issue.
  5. Yep, he went straight off. He was really shaken up. It was actually hard to watch.
  6. Maybe I should have said inexperienced. I reckon they are looking ok. Their game plan is better suited to Marvel, but that makes sense. Scott is a smart operator.
  7. This makes me so happy. Haircut. LOL.
  8. Explain this to me Nathan Willamson. How is this not the purest 50 metre penalty you’ve ever seen? The umpiring in the last quarter is currently like watching a different game. IMG_0135-compressed.mov
  9. I was talking to one of their supporters on the train home and I said I think they are definitely moving in the right direction. As much as I hate to say it Scott has them being a much more accountable team, and it will really help their young guys development.
  10. Yeah, he looks like a gun.
  11. His best game in 2 years I reckon. He was fantastic.
  12. He actually worked out at my gym over the Christmas period here in the inner west (I’m assuming because it was AFLPA mandated time away from the club). He does not have the body of an elite athlete (and I’d know, neither do I).
  13. It’s past your bed time.
  14. It was unbelievably obvious tonight, just as it was against North a few weeks back. I don’t care what anyone says. The game is umpired completely different in the last 15 minutes of most games. It might not be intentional, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. It’s glaringly obvious.
  15. I thought that was the best game I’ve seen McKay play. He really set them up well behind the ball.
  16. I do not understand how that wasn’t a 50 to Lever at the end of the game, and I was going ballistic, and a security guard came over and told me to calm down, and everyone around us told him to [censored] off. And people say Melbourne supporters are soft. We look after our own.
  17. I’ve no respect for people who don’t pick their team in the footy tipping. I’ve picked Melbourne every game since 1986. In our comp there’s a North supporter and she’s dead last because she picks them every round. I know who to call when I need a loyal friend though - and everyone was so pumped for her last weekend. Some of you should be ashamed. 😂
  18. Free to Air TV in this country is some of the most lazy, uninspired content on the planet. Television in Australia doesn’t know what to do in 2025, so it’s doing what it did in 1995 and wondering why the results are different. At this stage most free to air TV is literally aiming to be background noise while people scroll through their phones on the coach. It all needs to go and be rethought. The big sports are fortunate in that their immediacy gives them more cultural currency, so it has a lot of value to local advertisers. I wouldn’t by worried about AFL, NRL, or cricket. And I wouldn’t be upset about free to air killing jobs. They chose to do nothing for a long time with their content, and it’s well overdue to be reimagined.
  19. When it’s cold the Hot Chocolate at the footy is actually pretty good.
  20. This is my entire issue with how ridiculous that decision was. Heeney is a more important player, with a cleaner record than Cameron, but he doesn’t get the rule applied to him? It hasn’t been applied since, and probably never will again. What an absolute joke.
  21. Duggan seems much more likely than a guy who grew up in Perth.
  22. What a bunch of Faff.
  23. Brisbane umpiring is the new Perth umpiring.
  24. This free flowing, run and gun, Ross Lyon game plan is so good to watch.
  25. If he doesn’t get suspended for that then I don’t understand. He swung his fist back and hit a player in the head off the ball, which caused him to bleed and leave the ground. That’s a minimum week easily.
