Great to see one of my boys on TV celebrating the win. Two work for the club and I'm proud beyond belief of both. They'll kill me for this post if they see it, but good show guys.

A real factor here is that Burns was not sitting anonymously in a seat with a mate, he was a guest at a Richmond function. You don't talk about Richmond players like that even as a joke. It's not criminal, but extremely discourteous. He should have apologised without reservation.

Nope. Originally on 3RRR. I was a subscriber, and I remember Ross being interviewed on the 25 Anniversary of the station (I think). It was a must listen to show back in the day.

Highly ironic that Ross started his radio career on the alternstive, leftish 3RRR with "Lawyers guns and money". That was as a funny and interesting show, but he sold out to 3AW (as I would have, to be fair).

I sometimes listen to the 3AW breakfast show (I've won a heap on the Rumor File over the years). Burns and Stevenson pander to their demographic - ancient rednecks. They regularly refer to "the Chinese" as the cause of multiple ills. Burn's alleged comment doesn't surprise me at all.

I've only read part of this thread because my stomach can only stand so much. Jack Grimes is one of the gutsiest and committed players to play with the Demons for years. He will come back and be a major part in the Demons future. Some of the posts are disgraceful and ignorant and completely contrary to the way the club rates Grimes. And I have connections within the club, unlike so many flogs posting in this thread.

My son, who works for the club (I can't say in what capacity, he would kill me) seems genuinely excited. He thinks this draft fills the gaps which have held the team back. I'm looking forward to this year far more than the past eight or nine.

I haven't read this whole thread, but outside football Robbie created a training organisation which is now the largest trainer of school-based trainees in Australia, SEDA. My daughter works for them, and knew a Robbie and his wife very well. I've mentioned it before I think, but two of my boys work for the Demons. The whole family is devastated.

Agree as well. And for those who advocate "fly the flag, don't take MRC crap, new Melbourne blah,blah, blah", do you really think the Tribunal will say "Oh, a Jeez, Melbourne's appealing. They must be serious. We'll overturn it"? Fantasyland. Hopefully Dawes will think twice before whacking somebody in the head well after the ball left the scene.

A fair penalty for a stupid act. For all the hysteria about bumping causing injury, this was always an accepted part of the game. What Dawes did never has been.

I think the shock tactic of Frawley forward and Howe back worked for a few weeks. Time to move them back in my opinion. It could have made the difference last night.

With regard to an appeal, unless the club has compelling new evidence, do we need a further day or two's distraction with one of the most important games for years coming up?
