  1. Your post like literally minutes beforehand suggests differently. Honestly I agree with the poster beforehand. All this umpire blaming is just wallpapering over the the actual problem. We haven't been playing good football for 4 quarters since anzac eve
  2. I don't think TMac would be able to replicate Langdon's. One of Langdons assets is his speed out of the contest. Tmac is pretty slow but has better overhead marking ability. I think if we were to use tmac on the wing it would be similar to how we used Tomlinson last year which i wouldnt call a success story
  3. Write them off at your own peril. Unlike us, Richmond have shown that they know how to prepare for September. In 2019 they lost to the cats by 71 points, gws, collingwood and doggies by nearly 50. Last year they had a pretty ordinary start losing to hawthorn and st Kilda (we actually player them into form).
  4. Thanks mate, interesting to hear. Sorry about all the [censored] you are coping
  5. Not saying it's what has happened here but it's entirely plausible that a player could change his mind. Heck I can barely make my mind up about what I want to eat for dinner
  6. Without wanting to be too disparaging about sharing rumours just wondering if your source knew what happened to the Ash situation. Seems like he has decided to stay at GWS. https://www.gwsgiants.com.au/news/922396/lach-him-in
  7. I actually thought Charlie's most impressive defensive effort was in the first minute of the game in the backline. Richmond had kicked it to mackintosh and Spargo. Brayshaw had come in to help out but taken the whole pack out. Richmond had two other players closing in on the ball. Spargo was first to get up from the contest, pressured rioli who had to handball to broad and then straight away applied enough pressure to force Broad to go over the boundary. He effectively recovered first from a contest to half a 2 vs 1 and pretty much a certain goal.
  8. I was referring to this bit of the substitute player: If the 23rd 'medical substitute' player doesn't take the field, they will still have a senior game credited to their career tally. For me it would be hollow getting awarded 300 games if I only stepped onto the field for 297 or 298 games.
  9. What a horrible way to bring up your 300 Sorry, posted this after I saw you get a game played even if you don't step on the field. Deespencer probably assumed you'd only be credited if you get used. But afl
  10. They were overlooked in the draft worked their asses off in the WAFL and proved to AFL clubs they belong by being selected in the draft at a older age. What's that got to do with Kobe? I'd love for Kobe to be a make it as much as anyone here. The fact that Fremantle weren't interested, no afl club was interested and he was hardly rated a mention means that he is working a long way back. Some posters are talking about a debut for round one. I see him more as a development player who probably is only on the list because of his last name.
  11. Might as well raze the place down and start afresh
  12. While I agree with you that he needs to improve his fitness. I don't think the 2km run is a useful fitness test for a small forward. Their fitness standards are based on short quick burst with powerful explosion. I'm the dylandfriends podcast with Andrew Russell, he use to say Cyril would come last in the time trials as well.
  13. Before claiming to understand where the illegality is have a read of the fair work position on it. https://www.fairwork.gov.au/how-we-will-help/templates-and-guides/fact-sheets/unpaid-work/unpaid-work From the original job ad it looked like it they wanted someone to stay on for a year with 10-25 contact hours asking for skilled graduates. There's nothing in the fair act about promising it to be permanent f/t work. Sure if you're at uni it might be great but once you word it like an opportunity for graduates it starts becoming unfair on as only people who are from privledged positions can really do it. Having to work 25 hours a week and having to do another job to support your life isnt very feasible. Only the kids with strong support structures (i.e living at home) have a shot. From reading the reddit post on this it seems like it is the norm for the industry. Pretty disappointing.
  14. Might be a great opportunity but they're capitalising on the desperation of newly graduated. Sure you have an opportunity to put something good on your resume but why should it come at the cost of free work? There's a reason why volunteering for work that is usually paid for by companies is illegal in australia. It's for the benefit of society in general. Before you know it you'll have all sorts of companies/corporations expecting free work in the name of 'experience'.
  15. I might have no idea, but you have far less idea about the English language. How else are we meant to interpret: " Oscar simply shouldn't have been playing AFL football on many many occasions during his career and that is absolutely indisputable given the fact that he didn't find a suitor over the trade period and has now been delisted at under 25 years of age. Think about that for a minute. It's near unprecedented." I am still struggling to see what is unprecedented. Player is given games and kept on the list because we think he might come good. Does not come become the player we thought he could be. Delisted before 25. If you think that's "unprecedented" I'd like to know what you have done to be able to block large periods between 2007 and now out.
  16. Corey was delisted in the same year. Obviously Oscar set the precedence.
  17. Pretty much, I wonder what would happen if you added in the top 4 sides for past decade. I think you would get a lot of muddling of data and there wouldn't be a clear correlation shown. This is pretty much showing kicking higher scores will lead to success...
  18. Dunno why Lord Nev is trying to keep something posted on bigfooty hush hush. Here's a bit more to the rumour: https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/finals-club-in-turmoil-player-affair-with-female-staff.1248832/ Pretty disappointing if true, didn't he and his wife lose a baby recently?
  19. There's no need to burn him at a stake. It's not a witch hunt. He obviously has some sort of intel and it's not like he is throwing random names out there with zero credibility. People have emotions and opinions that change by the day. Nothing is certain until someone signs. If you want to hear about only certainties I suggest you follow the trade tracker page on the afl website. At that point Dr Evil probably heard that Isaac Smith was going to sign. Situations evolved and he changed his mind. I appreciate people like him providing rumours that they have heard as I don't have any connections. What you are doing is creating witch hunt because of some detail that turned out not to be correct. It's great for discouraging others from posting rumours they have heard.
  20. Not surprising since it was announced in the media about a week ago... https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theage.com.au/sport/afl/demons-hannan-on-western-bulldogs-trade-radar-20201014-p5651k.html
  21. Wait wasn't the evidence that Hogan wasn't smiling so he was going to leave us. If Clarry is laughing, it means he won't leave us.
  22. Very familiar. If I was a hindsight recruiter we'd won 20 of the last 20 premierships. Neeld had his faults but I'm not sure you can blame him for not picking someone who lasted until pick 58...
  23. Pretty simplistic view. How about this, you create an environment that encourages a good culture so loyal people don't want to leave. As I said he was willing to put up with some of our [censored] to stay for 4 years. In those 4 years we ruined the development and playing careers of numerous players... grimes, trengove, Morton and Gysberts to name a few. They might not all have been starts but I honestly think if they were given opportunities in a better environment their careers would've been different. Now if my my workplace had a [censored] culture I wouldn't want to stay. I would say if we had a decent environment frawley probably would've stayed. The club fosters the right environment and you'll never get anywhere blaming good players for leaving if we can't create the right environment. Unfortunately for us. We've got some sort of atrachment and don't have a direct look in in that environment to call it quits. We just hope that it changes.
  24. Pretty harsh to say he didn't care. He cared enough to sign a 4 year deal when we were pretty bad. Then came the neeld years and it was obvious the club was going nowhere. It's easy to say only supporters care when I can say plenty of supporters dropped off during those hard years. We have supporters who are saying they won't renew next year with Goodwin in charge. When you don't have to be at the game getting smashed by 100 points each week and face the public...
