  1. I think the Hawks logo looks excellent. We're not a breakfast cereal but we're certainly not year 10 art project either. Our logo looks like the designer couldn't decide on anything and so decided to cram everything in and hope for the best.
  2. Agree with you OMR. For what it's worth I also can't stand the over busy new logo either.
  3. The real issue is less that we have had to experience pain and make a sacrifice for these new franchises, but more that the pain and sacrifice has not been shared equitably among all clubs.
  4. "But the bush hath friends to meet him and their kindly voices greet him In the murmur of the breezes and the river on its bars And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended And at night the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars".
  5. Another decision where Neeld could easily have gone the softer way. I think we are seeing an early pattern here.
  6. Gleeson's is an article you can't successfully argue against unless you can prove Phil's a dud talent spotter. But ... like all things Scully, you don't need to prove anything. Just use your common sense.
  7. Not guaranteed unfortunately. With a lot of hard work? Possibly. But you are always behind the eight ball compared to those in the side for whom neat disposal comes naturally AND who work hard.
  8. Big blokes don't get any smaller the longer the game goes on.
  9. More like ... posters who expose their feigned intelligence by demonstrably failing to grasp the meaning of a simple word.
  10. Speculative latter round KPP who has yet to generate any excitement after two years on the list. Would have to show a bit more in his third season to justify being kept on you would think.
  11. Anything spouted about politics or religion from any side or angle of those two topics is a cliche.
  12. (Enter year) is a make or break year for Sylvia.
  13. His comments can only be seen as tacit acknowledgement that they are stuffing things up.
  14. Ban them for six games. If they really, really muck up? Ban them for ten. If they really really, really muck up? Tell 'em to hit the bricks. At the old MFC you're right, the punishment doesn't fit the crime. But this is no longer the old MFC.
  15. Not sure about that. Bailey was presented with the same decision on a star player (Moloney) this season but didn't ... wouldn't ... go as far as Neeld has and actually rub him out for a game. Self-preservation trumped culture change on that occasion.
  16. Neeld has the balls to risk losing a game to change the culture at the club. He passes his first test.
  17. Also interesting is that Kleiman's wife used to be Adrian Anderson's P.A.
  18. A match made in KFC. I really hope it all goes to Fill's head and he starts to constantly pester Gub with annoying emails about dud recruiting prospects, and daily calls about trifling matters regarding his son. C'mon Fill, get in there and make a nuisance of yourself!
  19. I see what you mean but I'm not just referring to to Fill Scully Incident, but to the entire way they handled it from the moment Grubby and Sheeds came knocking on their door. Someone was there in the shadows advising this family of what and what not say, and when and when not to say it. Boy did Blucher and by extension Alastair Lynch, screw that job up. Not a good look for Velocity Sports I would have thought.
  20. There was a way the Scullys could have done it all without having their name dragged through the swamp. Yes they must take ultimate responsibility, no-one held a gun to their head, but my word were they poorly advised at critical junctures by their manager, Peter Blucher. Blucher completely botched the public relations aspect of the process. Real amateur hour stuff. Beware, young AFL players, of that man.
  21. Think about the kicbacks and sip honing that must have taken place by the GW$ top brass with all that lucre at their disposal. My hunch is that the Fill Scully Affair is just the tip of the hamburger. Think about the potential for kick backs and palm greasing between GW$ top brass and shady player managers. It's a disgrace and if the AFL cares one iota about its integrity as an organization, there needs to be a full investigation.
  22. How did we benefit? Can't be sure yet but hopefully this sorry tale galvanizes our club (I think you'll agree it has somewhat already) and that we are able to snare a couple of quality young players with those components picks. I sometimes think the Scully saga/farce was the good kick up the bum Melbourne had to have.
