WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Return to Glory replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Might just do that. Thrilled to have this kid. Cannot have enough players who hate losing. Confident he falls into that category. -
Jonesy has been a fantastic servant of the Melbourne Football Club. Certainly played many games where he was unsupported and swimming against the tide. And therein lies the challenge for him. I think he got into the habit (understandably) of trying to do it all. Perhaps needs to increasingly play smarter with the realization that the support in the middle is now much greater.

Two smalls to surprise - Charlie Spargo and Dion Johnstone. And Harrison Petty to be one of the great picks by the Melbourne FC. Sure, that's three but hey...

Daniel Connors is in a different league to Col. Col does really dumb things, Connors is a piece of work....imo. -

The reality is that Col will probably thrive in the country. He definitely wasn't doing well in the big smoke. -

Yes Outside 50, I can hear you. -
Let's just hope it's an almighty shite storm, is linked to the current Essendon administration and derails their season.

Essendon and Carlton have always had influence within the AFL .i.e. Fitzpatrick and Ron Evans previously and I have little doubt that these clubs still carry disproportionate influence. It's a compromised draw and, once more, we've got the rough end of the pineapple. Carlton with four Friday night games is nudge, nudge, wink, wink stuff. The sooner that polo playing poonce moves on the better.

I was joking. He's pretty average though.

I'm jealous. But well done.

Are you kidding! Do you not recall the tunnel ball? -
Irony there Slim. It will be interesting though.

Yes, he was taken to task on more than one occasion around training efforts (or so we have been told and I accept it) but this seems to have evolved into a narrative where 24/7 he didn't give a shite. I call absolute BS on that. It's keyboard warrior stuff where judgements are made from hearsay. I have watched enough live games of Jack Watts to feel disappointed with the out of kilter assessments about him - maybe they are a reflection of the world we are now in.

It's fine. These things happen.

That's very true JR. And the club put him front and centre as our Messiah when he clearly wasn't ready for it. The disaster that was that first Collingwood match still sticks with me.
