NON MFC: Rd 09 2021
We have a 3rd rounder from the hawks so every loss for them is a bonus to us. Plus hawks losing is just an enjoyable feeling outright. Now we just need Brisbane and Bulldogs to fall in a heap to improve our other picks, a 2nd and other 3rd round pick respectively.

Great to hear. Thanks.

CASEY: Rd 05 vs Geelong
He's rawer than the salmon nigiri I had for dinner last night, would be very surprised if he got a game this year.

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Footage of him jogging backwards at half pace isn't the most convincing evidence of moving freely, but it's a positive he's out there.

How likely a latter season drop off?
Perhaps we're currently seeing a small drop off in output right now? We were asleep in the first half against North and last weekend we lost 3 out of 4 quarters against the swans. It's hard to keep 22 players in peak mental and physical condition and no doubt training loads will increase and taper throughout the season as required. Hopefully we can navigate through the rest of season and keep putting wins on the board when we're not firing on all cylinders. So far so good. For what it's worth I don't think we've played our best footy yet and think it is still to come. Something I'm looking forward to.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Sydney
Just watching the replay and it's astonishing how many tackles went unrewarded for holding-the-ball. There must have been at least a dozen of incorrect disposals with nothing given. The worst of which were those where players just dropped the ball when tackled. Felt bad for lever when Hayward dropped the ball immediately when lever tackled him only for the umpire to penalise lever for falling into his back afterwards.

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Sydney
We're 8 and 0 and I don't think we've played our best footy yet this year. What is this club I'm supporting?

CHANGES: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Would love to see Sparrow and Weideman in the team but can't see any changes being made unless they are forced. Fritsch and Brayshaw probably our worst tonight but can't see either being dropped and nor do I want them to. They have enough credits in the bank though and can't see Sparrow playing the wing better than Brayshaw. Petty needs some continuity and I have great belief that he will be a staple in our team for a long time to come. He's important for our defensive structure, allowing lever to intercept and McDonald to play forward.

Christian Petracca is A Demon For Life
Ned guy stepping down as Collingwoods list manager after the mid season draft. Probably well off the mark with this but I like to think it went something like this. - Petracca tells a mate he had passing thoughts of what it would be like to pull on the pies jumper, the club he supported as a kid. - pies catch wind of this and make contact with petraccas management. - management neither confirms or denies and probably encourages the pies with their enquiries to help negotiations along with Melbourne. - pies think they have a chance, but have a bulging salary cap and decide a 28yr old hamstring prone treloar on huge money needs to go. - proceed to sell the farm with Stephens and Phillips jettisoned to free up space for their main target with views of having enough cap space at end of 22 to blow our offer away for a then restricted free agent Petracca. - Guy unconvincingly fronts the radio saying it wasn't about salary cap, they wanted to get back into the draft. Later comments were made about unspecified players wanting to join them as well which they couldn't accommodate with their previous list make up. - Pies mocked by all and sundry for the bs they were publicly sprouting. - Fast forward to Petracca signing 7 year contract extension, multiple articles highlighting collingwoods strong interest in him. - 2 days later Ned Guy "steps down" Now if North can relegate the pies to the bottom of the ladder in the second half of the year that would complete Collingwood shooting themselves in the foot with their round 1 pick already traded out for this year.

CASEY: Rd 04 vs Sydney Swans
Shame about our fringe players missing out on a game this week. Weideman may find the delay even more frustrating if he's not selected for the senior team. Wonder if they'll try and put together a modified scratch match of casey and Melbourne listed players + fill ins.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021
I believe we have 3 picks available to us but how many we actually use is a question only the club will know.

AFL Mid Season Draft 2021
It's worked for us before and Zac Foot and Ryan Sparkes could be two names to keep an eye on. I'm more curious to see if there have been players that missed out on last year's draft that may have pushed their credentials this year. With a lack of footy last year there's a chance of some u19s could be showing 1st or 2nd round quality now they have a chance to play. Zavier Maher is the first one off the top of my head that seemed unlucky not to get drafted last year. Have no idea how he's gone this year though. Will Bravo, Liam Kolar and Zac Dumesny are others I remember being talked about for last year's draft.

CHANGES: Rd 08 vs Sydney
Out: Tomlinson, Baker, Melksham, Fritsch* In: Petty, Sparrow, Harmes, Weideman* *if suspended for the high fend off ANB lucky, couldn't do a single thing right all day. Brown went off with a head knock with roughly 7 minutes to go and didn't return, possibility for concussion there.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
Umm, are you confusing me with someone else? Because this would literally be the first time I've suggested this change. I am loving McDonalds form and couldn't be happier for him. But Brown is better, he just is. We didn't recruit him to play at Casey so when there is an opportunity to improve your team you look at it. McDonald was touted for time on the wing during pre-season and that's where he spent most of his time training prior to the injuries to Weideman and Brown. That's the main reason I bring up that move. Plus with his endurance base and ability to present up and down the ground as a legitimate marking target he could absolute own a wing. Perhaps there is a way we could accommodate one of Brown and Weideman into the forward 50 to partner McDonald as well.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs North Melbourne
Without wanting to flirt with form or disrespect the roos, now would be the time to experiment with McDonald on the wing and bringing in Brown or Weid.

What they're saying down at Punt Road
It's laughable that a team that has built a reputation of being snipers off and around the ball are, coached by one of the dirtiest players of his era, are having a sook about kozzie allegedly sniping. If any complaints of sniping are made about the night then surely no one could look past Nankervis. The hack knew he couldn't go with gawn so threw arms and elbows into him at every opportunity. At one point Max outmarked him and landed on the ground. Nakervis missed the spoil with his left and as he was landing he swung his right arm into Max's face. Don't think he made good contact but Max certainly wasn't happy about it. In another incident he came in as a third man swingint his limbs into vineys head as he was already immobilised and vulnerable on the deck wrapped up in a tackle. Real tiger tough.

CASEY: Rd 02 vs Richmond
I thought he acquitted himself quite well myself. In my opinion I don't think we will see him in the team anytime soon but I reckon he's good enough to get a couple games later in the year despite his size.

CASEY: Rd 02 vs Richmond
Thank you for the well articulated discussion. Could you enlighten me to which part is crap? Does he not have skill, pace or composure?
-
CASEY: Rd 02 vs Richmond
What a weird comment. His size won't hold him back and it's likely he'll get an opportunity this year. Kid has pace, composure and skill. Will slot nicely anywhere on the ground other than key position or inside mid.
