We only plan to take two picks to the draft and as spots were limited they therefore could only be used to move up or into the future. If the recruiters feel there's a premium pool of players in the first dozen or so, and subsequently a drop off after that, then they've wisely traded into that premium space in my view. Still a bit to played out anyway, our picks could still be drastically different again on draft night. We can properly break it down then.

Not a 2023 target, but would love for the club to land an established mid like Butters, McCluggage, Florent or Callaghan over the next year or two. Also a key position player as required pending the status of Petty, May and Gawn.

Yep. I can see us still trading with the roos. Pick 6 and 11 for 3 and 18. 18 will end up around 22.

Darcy and English will both be Restricted FAs while Logan won't be a free agent. Clubs can therefore match the RFA bids and trades will have to occur, depending on how they view the compensation.

Unless Darcy wants out to vic. Freo have 3 first round picks next year and have been said to be targeting Logan McDonald. Think they're going to go hard at a player(s) next year.

On todays Gettable episode they described an early pick swap scenario involving us Gold Coast and North. Wasnt fully detailed but essentially would have seen North with picks 2, 5 and 6 with Melbourne getting 3 and North's 2024 end of first round pick after giving up 6, 14 and future 1st.

6, 11, 42 and future 1st. Will be interesting to see what these picks turn into next month.

Essentially we've swapped Grundy for Fullarton/McAdam and Harmes for Billings. If we finish higher on the ladder than Sydney and Bulldogs then we've also upgraded our future 2nd and 3rd round picks in the process.

ICYMI Essendons D'Ambrosio is apparently considered a delisted free agent under rookie rules and can move to Hawthorn via that mechanism. Essendon have been playing hardball with him to get a better pick and its been reported that they may not have been aware of this rule and the fact he can walk for nothing.

Thought there might be something to this when our name popped up last week. Gave me Lachie Hunter vibes from last years trade period. We need mature depth so not against this if he comes cheaply from a draft capital perspective. Has an excellent field kick on him. Can see him playing high half forward/wing with an occasional centre square attendance.

Certainly looking like Curtin is going to be the player left for us at pick 6. Assuming we can't get up any higher, I wonder if the club will take him there or have a different player in the mix like Caddy or O'Sullivan. I would be more than happy with Curtin.
