  1. Oscar Allen is untouchable and the last time I heard the term 'war chest' used at the dees it was at the start of the Neeld years.
  2. Double posting a little here but surely we try and loosen one of Sydney's young forwards in the 14-20 goal range for Grundy?
  3. Plenty of half decent though contracted young forwards at Sydney that might come into the Grundy trade viability?
  4. We offer Grundy to Sydney for one of their many contracted young forwards. Most have kicked around the 14 to 18 goal range. They have too many as it is.
  5. People here tend to have a negative attitude about JJ but a lot of that comes from him trying to play wing; as a proper running mid he is underrated.
  6. Because last week we wasted Lever as a lockdown for most of the game. Third tall means Lever can actually do what he does best
  7. The real story here is that the AFL just seemingly oked a shoulder two head knock that resulted in a serious concussion because the player had his arms in the air. Lawyers thinking about taking on future AFL concussion litigation will be salivating. Any one can see Gleeson's point was not even relevant but it was a farse from the start.
  8. We need to up the pressure early - come out like rabid dogs and make them hesitate. If they get a run on early like the Pies and then we cant convert late it wont be good. Just cant see why - at this stage with no viable tall forwards we cant just try Tommo - he can take a mark including contested ones and if it doesnt work, just move him down the back to lockdown and let Lever loose. Its a no brainer yet i bet it doesnt happen.
  9. I think he is behind Tommo - in the games where Schache kicked goals for the doggies it was usually because he had no opponent
  10. yeah my mood is only just normalising 48 hours later.
  11. Harmes is out with a hammy. Id love to see Tommo get a run - I cant understand for the life of me how he hasnt already and as another poster said sometimes it does seem favourites
  12. Cox literally held and blocked for a whole.quarter of footy. The we get called for blocking when our player was further away from the contest that the player we supposedly blocked!
  13. And to hold lever and may to disrupt our defence
  14. We should have done this last trade period. Grundy for Geordaris is the only possible I can think of.
  15. Agreed - why not name Tomlinson as a utility - put him down back if required or allowing him time as a chf or forward like he played at GWS? All he has to do is be a solid mark contestor and bring the ball to ground/lock it in.
  16. My last comment was the players looked like a team walking out knowing they had no decent forwards and the combination of worry about Collingwood's defensive transition game and worry about who to kick it to in our attack caused us a lot of problems.
  17. Remember what Bedford got for this: Greater Western Sydney forward Toby Bedford learns his fate after two-hour Appeals hearing (afl.com.au)
  18. There was one passage of play where Cox carefully put his arms around May and Lever and then fell to the ground as the ball passed them and was marked by Mihochek - but the umpires were cool with that...
  19. im glad im not the only one feeling my weekend is now ruined a day early! I personally feel Tomlinson is a viable forward option - he played most of his footy at GWS as a floating fowrad utility up the ground or in the forward 50. Better option than Schache for sure.
  20. Grundy straight swap for Geordaris should have been the choice for 2024.
  21. People who are saying Maynard should get off are forgetting that multiple players have been suspended this and last year for almost identical actions - even when it appears obvious was a consequence of a legitmate smother or move. But I suspect he will get off because the AFL would love a Pies GF
  22. The elephant in the room for mine is a ready-made and experienced utility on the list that used to play chf and as a forward for GWS yet we chose a bloke who has played maybe one good game in 2 years:
  23. I think our sub choice was bizarre - no knock on young Laurie but we've subbed in Jordan so many times and he has he certainty of experience. Watching Grundy and Brown chilling in the crowd while TMAC showed us why he has barely played in 18 months was also frustrating.
