  1. The game changes with what ever works each year. It's just as possible shut down or tall dominant lists become the fashion. Honestly Essendon under Knights were pretty similar to the pies this year other than the pies being way better at transition. The response will be Sydney esque shut down again for mine.
  2. Twitter and Reddit: The Dee's are into Lynch or Ben M. Demonland: We are into no body and will use the draft. Then Demonland: I have news - our target will be made public shortly. Then Demonland after the Oliver story 'broke': See I told you there would be news (just not the news of the target as claimed). My bold prediction: At some stage in the future there will be news! Told you!
  3. Correction 'Reid has played zero AFL games and may or may not live up to the hype'
  4. Totally agree! I remember reading how talented and impactful players like Toumpas, Tapscott and Lucas Cook would be. Other recruiters rated the first two. But reality turned out different
  5. Most on this page and on trade radio 48 hours ago were telling us that the club would not be big traders and would focus on our youth and perhaps top up with the draft. Well it appears that has certainly changed. Does this mean that if Reid is the absolute target we are moving towards a semi rebuild? Clearly Max and May will be twilighting by the time he is good enough?
  6. Im not sure Id care if Clarry started smoking bongs in his training breaks. Ill say it until the cows come home - ive supported the Dees since the late 70s and Clarry and Trac are the best mids ive ever seen at the club - you just dont even entertain the idea of trading this type of player unless you are looking at an absolute jet for jet. Picks are meaningless - just as many are squandered every year as turn out quality and our past track record (pre the current regime) was diabolically bad.
  7. Honestly if this club is now shopping semi-publically a once-in-a-generation talent because of 'attitude issues' twelve months after signing him for seven years our list management foresight is laughably bad. In recent times we have been good at the draft but the decades before that were at best mixed in terms of drafting and at times appallingly bad. Why gamble what is for what might be?
  8. Your making this up as you go along - you implied what was coming was a forward trade target.
  9. I'm guessing some here want to believe this and it may be true but it's the same kind of thinking that made us put Schache as a sub. Did we painstakingly build a list trading in May, Lever, Langdon, with a pick 2, 3 and 4 midfielder and a once in a generation elite ruckman. Our list will never be this good again in our lifetime.
  10. Well our window is now. How many more years has Gawn got? May?
  11. I've also seen the Naughton one on Big Footy and Facebook.
  12. Anyone heard we are into Josh Treacy? Vic lad apparently. *Edit - contracted until 2026 so may be BS
  13. If that is true then we are about to squander the best midfield, ruck and defensive talent and structure we've had in living memory when there is 1-2 years left in the window tops.
  14. Lynch is a year away at most from being as cooked as TMAC or BB. Drafting is great but our window is now. Jamara or kitchen sink at Oscar Allen - perfect age bracket.
  15. Jordan adds good midfield or winger depth but can understand why he wants opportunities elsewhere.
  16. Oscar Allen is untouchable and the last time I heard the term 'war chest' used at the dees it was at the start of the Neeld years.
  17. Double posting a little here but surely we try and loosen one of Sydney's young forwards in the 14-20 goal range for Grundy?
  18. Plenty of half decent though contracted young forwards at Sydney that might come into the Grundy trade viability?
  19. We offer Grundy to Sydney for one of their many contracted young forwards. Most have kicked around the 14 to 18 goal range. They have too many as it is.
  20. People here tend to have a negative attitude about JJ but a lot of that comes from him trying to play wing; as a proper running mid he is underrated.
  21. Because last week we wasted Lever as a lockdown for most of the game. Third tall means Lever can actually do what he does best
  22. The real story here is that the AFL just seemingly oked a shoulder two head knock that resulted in a serious concussion because the player had his arms in the air. Lawyers thinking about taking on future AFL concussion litigation will be salivating. Any one can see Gleeson's point was not even relevant but it was a farse from the start.
  23. I dont normally bet but i just put $20 on that outcome
  24. We need to up the pressure early - come out like rabid dogs and make them hesitate. If they get a run on early like the Pies and then we cant convert late it wont be good. Just cant see why - at this stage with no viable tall forwards we cant just try Tommo - he can take a mark including contested ones and if it doesnt work, just move him down the back to lockdown and let Lever loose. Its a no brainer yet i bet it doesnt happen.
  25. I think he is behind Tommo - in the games where Schache kicked goals for the doggies it was usually because he had no opponent
