If ruck insurance is what they are worried about then a straight swap for Martin would be the fairest possible outcome. Both are excess at their former clubs- both can fill a role at different clubs- logic win. I really hope we get Pedo.

Is there a maximum amount of wins because I don't know what range to guess in? Wins are great for the great unwashed, and good for business, but aren't always the true indicator of a team's progress (see year 2011) give me 6 wins with all the right signs of the makings of a premiership team, over 11 suspect wins and just missing out on finals any day. Bigger picture, don't get caught up in the trap of chasing numbers. Watch progress on field- wins are a by-product of everything clicking. Root for development and team.

I'm surprised Hogan didn't go MD1. How often does a ready to go forward come through the draft? Not very often- not one with his attributes anyway. Martin looks like he will be a star, but he will take longer to come on, plus I would have thought GC were just as desperate for a big forward as anyone. Time will tell who took the better player, but in terms of most important player out of the two in terms of team structure, Hogan would have to be the pick there.

Plus they are saying you don't give up high draft picks for older players- WRONG- early picks were given up for young prospects you silly boy- we still have 4. Viney, 4, Hogan and Barry isn't enough young talent for one draft? Seriously??

Neither would I, eerything worked out perfectly in my eyes. Hogan is a monumental get, pick 3 definitely worth it because ready to go FF like that are rare! Don't know how to please them, luckily I don't care. We plugged major holes with our picks and at the end of the day that is what drafting is all about. I like how they usually brush over the fact that we managed to "convince" them to take Viney at 26, they don't give that enough credit. The fact that we had to play along and that netted us HOgan and Barry for 3 and the difference between 14 and 20 (no big deal) is not what I would call us being screwed over. Remember we were into Barry, I would be more skeptical if they said "take Barry"- we wanted him and he does look good so with confidence in Neeld's vision it's a win every trade week of the year. If we can get Pedo and Ray we have a superior team in structure and work rate than the rabble that ran out last year and that is what matters. In this game you get better or you sink and die, and that is just a straight up fact!

I can't see the picks we have left being enough to secure both of Ray and Pedersen, so if we want them both then Martin will be moved on for extra currency. So he is gone, and I wish him all the best. I can only see him staying if a deal falls through. Already being excess (remember Dawes takes away the need for him to rest forward) if he needs to be used as barter I am fine with that. So whoever wants Martin can pay us something that can get this thing done and we all move on. Clinical like. No tears. Thanks for the memories

Can we make Peter File nominate for the PSD if North are going to stuff us around? Trade Martin to Bris for pick 33, use pick 33 on Ray, take the Pedo with PSD3 for "free." Is this too simple?

Just on the Pedo, is it true that no other club wants him? I find this hard to believe (if true,) is there something that we are missing here? He looks like a natural..

IF GWS traded pick 3 to Collingwood they would just take Grundy with 2 is my guess. But it won't happen because they need to reduce their list and at this stage one "sure thing" is more convenient than three maybes. I think when GWS said they were willing to trade a high pick they were talking about trading for established stars. More draft picks aren't their priority.

I forgot just how good he is! What a steal at 12! He stays at FF, the rest of the forwards can work around him. He is the main man, he is king. What does Jared leaving have to do with Martin? Jared and Martin were excess, Jared wanted out so win win and Martin isn't good enough to demand a spot on our terms so if he leaves and we find someone who can replace him and play on our terms, we come out on top.
