WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HERITIER LUMUMBA
Jesse Christ replied to Moonshadow's topic in Melbourne Demons
No it's based on me knowing he rubs people up the wrong way. This thread alone has surely proven that. As for my "precious opinion", I don't actually need any facts to form that, because it's an opinion. Look whatever I don't really care anymore. If the footballer formerly known as Harry O Ends up at the dees then whatever. It's not going to kill us, we've been through worse things. -

Yeah it's an opinion. Someone's likeability level is subjective. I think he's a [censored], you might think he is very insightful and a god against men. Each to their own, I don't have to provide you with proof as to why I think he's a [censored], and vice versa for you. Gt over it -

His over inflated ego and holier than thou attitude would have a big bearing on morale. He is "that guy".. -
I'm not absolving MC from all responsibility in this saga, but before we get out our pitchforks lets not forget that there are many factors at play that we don't fully understand. When the dust settles I wouldn't be surprised to hear some kind of statement from MC saying that he was ill advised, maybe even pressured into seeking "greener pastures". Time will tell

Not really a ringing endorsement on him though is it- he will fit in cos were [censored] anyway is basically what you're saying. And saying he's an upgrade on our current running backs is nothing to put your hat on. What about the negative impact he will have on locker room morale. He'd be the [censored] you'd just humour in a conversation and then discuss with your friends what an utter dick he is . -
So you think he was just using us for our resources, and all the lovely stuff he said about the MFC was just bulllshit? Sorry but I can't bring myself to that conclusion. I don't know Mitch personally but I don't think he has that kind of deception in him

There are still some players out there that see loyalty as the ultimate success. Not saying that chasing success is necessarily a blight on ones character, but being a one club player brings with it a sense of nobility and strength that some people cherish more than on fiels wins. Anyway for chunks sake, I hope we start our rise soon. If chunk leaves he devastates 30 odd thousand people. Couldn't blame him but it would hurt all the same

Don't underestimate the influence a greedy manager can have on his client bub- I do believe there was sincerity in MCs desire to return to Melbourne and repay the investment we made in MC the player and person. There are two ways to look at this- MC was playing us since day one and devised a monstrous plan to extract top dollar from us for minimal return and then screw us at the final hour, or- His manager saw an opportunity to make more money and sold MC- a guy that has just dealt with depression- with some twisted logic and half truths about how a fresh start at a new club would be nothing but beneficial to his health, and also played to his damaged psyche that he deserves better than a rookie position- ignoring the overall risk that MC is. All for his own means. I look at option 2- as option one destroys any last bit of hope I had for humanity.

I think his manager is trying to double dip, and MC being naive at best is going along with it. I think MCs manager is playing Mitch like a fiddle. Maybe the advise to remove yourself from an environment where you developed symptoms of depression could be valid in some instances, clearly this is not a normal circumstance and it would be removing him from his support structures and throwing him into the thrust of media scrutiny and the judging public. No thought has gone into that. Dollar signs are over riding logic. I'm starting to feel Mitch will be the one to pay for a conniving snake manager that has twisted the reality of MCs position and used a statement from a doctor that doesn't fit Mitches circumstances to suit his own end.

Look at it this way- if he wasn't so athletic he'd have nothing else to offer. Athleticism fades over time too. We will be very lucky to get anything of substance out of him. He can hide in a good team -
Players to target at the end of the year

I agree with what you say, but the thing is even if we trade pick 3 and promise not to take petracca the possibility of saints taking him with 1 is still the same. GWS would have to somehow find out what the saints plans are first. IF we are to trade pick 2, it has to be for a proven young gun, but who would want to risk trading a known quality for what is unknown- there would have to be some kind of go home factor involved. I think trading pick 2 away is too risky for the reasons you outlined- we could miss out on both the gun midfielders. I think the move to make would be floating pick 3 for whoever wants a bite at one of the talls. Dogs or Blues may be interested in trade of a player and first round picks. Dogs have one go the lowest rankings for marks inside 50 in the legue. Must hold on to 2 unless a trade involving a mid that's too good to refuse comes into play (unlikely). Pick 3 is the go for me. Assuming we even get pick 3, that is -

That's because the move is looking more likely and your coping mechanisms are kicking in. Wait till you see him break a line only to turn it over, he will have no success in a team incapable of spreading, he will be a turn over king. Then there's his personality. I threw up a little when someone posted him in the MFC jumper, and the thought of him taking on a leadership role is just downright scary to me. He is too devisive and opinionated for my liking. -

We have to use our pick immediately following the pick that another club nominates him at, so 99% sure we can use our third rounder. What if we do some trades and end up with a pick middle second round and someone goes just before that though.. Aware traded picks included in calculations? -

Any footage of him? -
On his good days Mitch is a match winner. How much would a club in their premiership window with a lack of tall forwards be willing to gamble on him? I'd say, if there was no safer bet available, a first rounder isn't out of the realms of possibility. Given his history, it is a risk- but the potential upside could be too tempting to pass up on.

Oh yeah, chip. Only supporting this club can your focus be literally shifted from one disaster to the next. Seriously, when was the last time a Melbourne supporter was without a sense of dredd?

Seen at Westpac Centre. Whoa real sea change there, nothing says fresh start like a 20 second jog down the street..

It's a lot easier being all australian in a successful team though isn't it? Sorry but when he loses his athleticism all we will be left with is an over sensitive, self righteous [censored]. Don't want him -

Jesse Christ replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
What they should do is take Blease off our hands for pick 20, and in return we take someone else with pick 2/3. But they should really be dealing with the saints, and if I was the saints I'd be saying I really want petranca -
