If you thought you were ready for a CEO role, and obviously got close this time around, why would you hang around for 10 years until Pert retires? There will be fallout from this, no doubt.

We are about 20-30% ahead of the teams we are likely to be competing with for one of the last couple of spots. Will be irrelevant, if we have enough wins we have enough wins.

Who cares? We will finish in the bottom half of the 8 and have an elimination final against someone like Adelaide, Hawthorn, Geelong, Collingwood or GWS, any of whom would smash us under finals pressure home or away. I'd even be terrified of playing North in those circumstances, given our history.

Yeah well last week we played seven forwards too - Hogan, McDonald, Smith, Hannan, Melksham, ANB and Spargo too. That doesn't mean they are all there, all the time. Just like the defenders. Or are you suggesting we play seven defenders, seven forwards, and four blokes in the middle?

Hunt can't play forward (yet). He even struggles on a wing. Bringing him and Smith in means we're stuck with seven defenders, meaning Hunt or someone else is forced to play out of position. No need to do that when we've got perfectly good like for like replacements.

The risk is that they actually try too hard, which can be as bad as not trying hard enough.

Interesting that we, being Demonland, currently have him having a better year than Hibberd, Jetta, Harmes, Fritsch and ANB.

Yes. He made one mistake, where he clearly thought he had a better reach at the ball than he did. Big deal. Did you see the next couple of times it came near him? He put them both about 15 rows back - it was clear that he learnt a quick lesson and adapted. He's going to be a dead set superstar for us. And he goes to my local coffee shop - been trying not to fanboy him but not sure how long I can resist.

Interesting that despite having the same average height, age and experience, we are on average 4kgs heavier.... Got some much more solid bodies which will bode well inside.
