The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
All things are often connected rjay ... foot injuries can upset your balance and confidence so marking can be affected. T-Mac is not moving to his marks in the same way and he often looks proppy. Time probably fixes things. Trengove is a good example - all parts of his game were affected because of that debilitating foot injury. And he was never the same player afterwards. Back injuries are the worst ... a likely end of career injury for the most part. Especially for key forwards. Until T-Mac can move freely again he'll be sub par. I have seen the same thing happen at suburban level a stack of times. I had acute achilles tendonitus in both feet for close on 10 years and I survived on muscle memory alone! And trust me, simple tasks became very difficult. And it is not an excuse either ... it's a reason. We all want him to be back at his best but we're going to have to be patient.

Finding 1 or 2 baseball winners isn't too hard Wadda if the form goes to plan but the 3rd is tricky. You're better off with a mix of sports and the Argentinian & Brazilian leagues continue through our winter ... good standard too with some iconic teams involved. I got a 4 figure multi payout a ways back using the South American leagues. As for the baseball, there are about 8 teams that I look out for ... Dodgers, Yankees, Redsox, Cubs, Houston plus 3 or 4 other teams who might be performing well. Tampa & the Twins are doing well right now.

Ya can't win 'em all Wadda ... I will stick with the hoops for now and I noticed that Toronto are at home against the Bucks on Monday. They led for 3 quarters today before being overwhelmed by the Bucks. Keeping an eye on the baseball though and I usually prefer the -1.5 line as my preferred way in a multi. Home team with a pitching advantage often offers up 2.00 up to 2.50 at the -1.5 line.

The bookies always win mate And I had a strong feeling my 3rd leg on that multi wasn't going to salute so it was annoying. They've got hundreds of people looking at the match-ups and racing form up against 1 solo punter most of the time. It's why I believe punters need to team up as we do. I reckon we're on the right track - just need a bit of luck.

Fair enough Wadda ... I just put our 3 picks on and that is it. Unless I do the early double if 2 of the 3 events are held earlier than the 3rd leg. I'd much rather put my hard earned on the horses ... got a nice double overnight at Longchamp. 2 Guineas races both won by Godolphin horses. 'Persian King' was a moral and then 'Castle Lady' just hung on to win. Both favourites but I got 7-1 ... Multi's aren't really my go as there always seems to be a skewed result that puts you out. I do like the team multi though ... so the 2 we do is generally all I do. Sometimes a Saturday overnight multi but based on the English leagues outside the EPL.

Well I put a lot of thought into my pick same as I'm sure you and DZ do. Maybe just do whatever but not post up what you are doing ... I don't need my pick even being questioned as I am highly superstitious when it cones to these sort of things. PL comes into it Wadda. I have sometimes taken other options but I am careful not to broadcast my intentions and if I do it is always after the event.

Ha ha ... no faith in my pick hey! Noted. You do realise that Everton are pus away from home against good teams. Spurs are still overs, all the same. The bookies obviously don't trust them but 3rd place outright could be the prize as Chelsea are not guaranteed to win at Leicester. You should cover all bases and include Everton in for the win as well. 4 multi's on a 3pick ... setting a new record! Come to think of it, Liverpool might slip up so we had better put Wolves in for the win and while we're at it, Real Sociedad might win too! A dozen combinations are possible! Team first means not second guessing other picks ... otherwise we may as well go it alone.

The Soccer thread
Well at least we're going into the last round of the EPL season with the title still up for grabs ... got a feeling we might see a stack of goals in a number of games. Spurs can finish 3rd outright if Chelsea slip up against Leicester whilst the Gunners would need to score 6 or 7 to even have a chance of replacing Spurs in 4th spot. Liverpool will probably end up with a massive 97 points but it still may not be enough. But if Brighton can score first against City it might be game on. Be great to see a dramatic finish.

Big query on whether Nature Strip can run the 1200m and OB will be there to run him down if so. 4 Group 1 2nds ... surely the Bull gets his Group 1 success this time. Demons to win as well (of course) ... paying 2.05 leading after every quarter. Put in the Bulldogs (League) to win at home and got 16-1 for the Saturday arvo tri-bet! Fingers crossed!

The Footy Show officially axed.
It was a good show for the first 10 years or so but it did well to go for as long as it did. Agree with others that Trevor Marmalade was a vital component. The Front Bar is terrific entertainment and 'Head' knows his place which allows him to be tolerated. Sam & Mick are a great pairing. Not really blokey either but often very funny. One show dies but the new show will live on.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
And I see our defence as being threadbare right now so Lewis stays. I also haven't given up on the season either so every win matters from here on in. But good on you for sticking your neck out and offering a viable solution. With Hore back there already you don't want too many inexperienced types. Frost & Oscar aren't exactly seasoned veterans either. The next month sees us go the Eagles, QB clash and games against the Crows & Giants. To my way of thinking we need some experience down back. Lewis isn't the player he was but he is still capable of standing out if the team plays well.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
I can almost guarantee that Goodwin won't see the defence as being our major issue right now He knows we're undermanned and under seige down back and he'll also know that our real issues are further afield. Blaming the A--end of a problem is dumb analysis. Lewis is at a stage where he can shine if the team plays well. And for many players, that defines their entire career.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
I am a fan of Frost ... rjay isn't Stop jumping at shadows And I don't laugh at any players ... never have, never will. Why do have the need to slag off at so many of your own players? You are so full of hate ... I actually feel sorry for you. You need help.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
So who are your 7 defenders ... name them all if you can rjay as we often play 1 more back Are you going to name Frost? ha ha

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
Drafting is flawed ... you can say we botched it but that is a lot like many here calling a trade a bust because a player gets injured. More lunacy. The reality is that many here just don't get it. They like to have their moan and before you know it group-think takes over. The myth becomes fact. None of the first round draft picks back then were called busts at the time ... not from you either so stop talking rot. It all came later ... in hindsigjt. And that is fact. As per usual, I am just keeping it real. Any other rralists out there who want to have a go?

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
But you never said that at the time did you ... quite the contrary, you thought our troubles were over with all the prized first round picks. You are using a hindsight argument as a bedrock. At the time, you never once said that we'd drafted the wrong type of player ... in fact, I dont recall even seeing 1 person saying that (back then) Again, it's being said now but that is way after the event ... zero foresight and lots of hindsight as I read things. I had no such belief system as I already knew the pitfalls. That is why you argued against another rebuild in early 2012. Your faith was unwavering (until it wasn't)

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
My view on the draft is that it is flawed ... I'd be a draft believer too if I was to disregard the bad news ... but realists aren't wired that way. It is warts and all. Carlton did the same by regurgitating failed top end picks and that also failed. When will these clubs ever learn? You argued with me something fierce when I called for a total rebuild in early 2012 ... remember that dl? Your reasoning was "We've already done that" We had to do it again didn't we? We had to wait until Roos arrived before the cleanout began but nonetheless, we had that rebuild. We don't need another total rebuild this time round but we do need a huge injection of speed and skill. And that might take 2 or 3 off seasons. Until then, the odd finals game is the best we can hope for (best case scenario)

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
If we play to our best, we'll win DJ. But we haven't seen our best this season and we're 7 games in. I am more disappointed from an overall perspective this season than I can remember. Previously we had a poor list of players who couldn't win but we've got some talent now. But I will still resist the temptation to point the finger at any particular player ... it's a pointless exercise anyway which ends up not offering any sort of solution. That player goes and then it becomes the next player ... rinse and repeat. As previously stated, if the team doesn't win it's everyone's fault. The top clubs are hard on each other that way where as the poor clubs finger point.
