The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
We will win more games rjay but I'm thinking they will be the unlikely wins rather than 'We should be able to beat such and such etc' Oddly enough, coming to terms with how the season will probably end up is rather easy. Back to the default mode hey? None of us are going anywhere and we'll continue to be paid up members etc (why quit now?) but it does pay to have some other strong interests outside of footy. If it is just the Demons it will do your head in.

The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
Back in medievil times you'd be a marked man rjay ... you got any good news? You can make it up if you like - tell us what we want to hear. Anything will do, we're not fussed.

A Day at the Races
In the light of the most recent event (another shocking loss) ...I might just stick around at ADATR for the winter! (or at least the MB thread) I mean, at least we've got a bit of control of the happenings at the races & multi's. As a mere onlooker with the footy, the sharp pain just continues to be quite prevalent. Pays to broaden your horizons as a demons fan ... I started doing so in the late 70's!

A Day at the Races
I've got about 8 really good prints but did have to send one back one time (quality average but got a full refund) ... and that was a ways back Wadda. The prices have come down a bit and getting a canvas print is a good option too. I believe there is now a 'super' giclee option available but it's great fun perusing ... I know a couple of people who frame paintings and prints so I have previously just ordered the giclee prints on their own. 'All posters' have got just about everything but there are probably a number of online print companies ... but if you do order anything giclee, start off inexpensive as a test case or 2. By the way, JJ has got me 3 winners today (so far) including Meli Melo in the 7th at Oakbank - got the exacta as well so a happy lad here mate!

A Day at the Races
What a small world we live in Wadda I've got a Giclée print of Rembrandts 'Night Watch' along with a number of other Giclee prints of various works of art ... I usually go to AllPosters who are quite reliable in terms of quality. In fact, the quality is often quite amazing with Giclee prints ... got a few Vermeer, Brueghel, Caravaggio, Van Gogh, Renoir et al. They are a tad less expensive than the real thing (ha ha) but with the right sort of lighting and framing, the prints often look like the real thing.

Monkey Business
Doesn't always happen with absolute standouts but this time it did and I reckon we got overs too Wadda Was going to throw Man City win & +2.5 goals as the 3rd banana but thought twice and was happy to take the 9-1 for the 2pick ... no regrets either mate. Monkey Business does it again ... nearly saluted last Sunday/Monday as well but Augsberg decided to put on a show to thwart our ongoing success!

A Day at the Races
@Dee Zephyr @Wadda We Sing @binman I'll post here occasionally during the off-season (May thru to September) but am going to be very busy at work for the next 2 or 3 months anyway ... may not do a best bet as I'm not sure I'll have the time to identify a standout. But all the best if you're having a dabble!

A Day at the Races
We went 0 for 4 today with our tips DZ which we've never done ... it was just one of those days but my punting strategy always includes a few bets at Sha Tin on a Sunday and a Saturday overnight double or 2 out of the feature events from the UK & Ireland. Small outlays can deliver good outcomes if luck is on your side. Apart from a number of obvious standout winners, we saw a number of very good each-way chances or roughies finish 1st or 2nd ... more so at Randwick & Caulfield. So if you got a collect or 2 from the exotics, the dividends were quite good.

The Soccer thread
Spurs vs Heddersfield on SBS tonight (coverage starts at 9.30pm) And if you've got cable or Optus, there are a number of games played in Europe scheduled well before midnight this weekend ... including Torino vs Cagliari at 8.30pm tomorrow night.

A Day at the Races
Interesting development David Gately has joined the Sky team so we won't see him on the racing channel from here on in. Still posts his tips up on Best Bets and today, the racing channel no longer refers to Gators tips - instead they are calling them the Best bets tips.

A Day at the Races
I'm guessing the connections might have kept the colours for luck Wadda A lot of the Weir horses have won since his suspension ... hard to know how many as the form guide for any of his former horses doesn't mention the former trainer. But it's quite a number.

A Day at the Races
That was nerve-wracking! What an absolute wonder horse - the mighty Winx! Joins the ranks of Bernborough, Carbine, Phar Lap, Tulloch, Makybe Diva & Black Caviar - all champions in their respective era's. Sunline as well maybe. Vain was great too. I'm in no position to separate them so I won't ... much prefer to celebrate them all. Winx - Champion!
-
A Day at the Races
I've put Harlem into a F4 but I'm only having a bet in the race because it's the last time we will see Winx race ... unless of course the connections change their minds!

A Day at the Races
Too good, too classy was Verry Elleegant. Another great prospect for the future Wadda Winx retires and then the onus goes to 7 or 8 very good horses that are a notch below ... the way things normally are/were before Black Caviar & Winx. As a punter, I prefer the latter situation but as a horse racing enthusiast, I prefer the former arrangement. And the horse racing enthusiast in me wins out. We are going to miss Winx once it is retired ... I would have preferred another Spring campaign and a 5th Cox Plate but it's not a perfect world.

A Day at the Races
She did whack that metal gate/fence very hard ... probably of no concern but it's the first slight hiccup since the horse was locked away on the inside in the Turnbull last Spring.
-
A Day at the Races
I think BM meant his 'other' bets at Randwick And if it is a swoopers track, Winx should win in a canter ... drawn the outside barrier too so ideal
-
A Day at the Races
His best bet got scratched out of the 6th race Wadda (Cool Passion) I do multiple exactas/trifectas so I look at all 4 of his tips in any given race ... but I only bet on the good betting races so if there is a shortie in any given race, I ignore the race.
