  1. Bit like that Citroën FD - up and down.
  2. Next year is bumper DS. And just to let you know, so is '24. 25 and 26.
  3. Thanks LN. I def know Kossi is a Dee for life now.
  4. Should we bring in Stephen Hill, Hunter Clarke and Ben Long from Linton Street @Anti Saint?
  5. Thanks DeeSpencer. That would be the same Beverage that has coached one premiership and one grand final appearance in seven completed seasons with a winning percentage of over 57 percent with nothing more than a B+ list. Amazing coaching performance.
  6. This will be the number one thread for the week with 90 percent of it utter carp.
  7. There's been some great ruckman over the last 50 years. Big Dean Cox easily one of the best. Dempsey, Madden, Nichols and Farmer top shelf as well. Our bloke easily sits comfortably in this company.
  8. Did you see Ross Lyon talking about it on Tuesday? Might as well have said . . . "what a clusterpukc . . . no phukkkking way".
  9. @Smokey - QD comes home and ritualistically opens 'Land to see if Jackson has signed. Thread is on second board. QD thinks, "I'll fix that."
  10. I chat myself after reading the words 'Dees Turnovers'. Quivering, pant-wetting, sobbing, shaking uncontrollably, fedora-wearing mess.
  11. What a complete disaster for the sport.
  12. I saw a doctor the last time I had this bad a rash.
  13. We could demand Freeo's 1st round pick in 2022, '23 ,24, 25, 26 and 27. And they can throw in Andrew Brayshaw this year as the steak knifes.
  14. If this is what Healy is saying, we're really ph%&*ed then.
  15. I'd love to be Maysie's mate. Recon he'd be a hoot.
  16. Bit hard on the Russkis there LG.
  17. This takes the award for the most bizarre thread of 2022. FWIW - here's the truth. We'll know in 15 years who got it right.
  18. If we were to go out in straight sets, how does the Club respond during the player draft/trading period? Does it: a. undertake minimal list changes in the belief that a couple of game style tweaks and natural improvement in player development and skills can deliver a flag in 2023, b. undertake a minor list renovation, moving on a couple of good servants that are unlikely to play in our next flag, c. undertake a moderately radical list renovation, moving on eight or so players, including at least a couple that played in the 2021 flag, or d. do something else? Thank you for a wonderful pod each week. I'm a big fan.
  19. It's being talked about WCW. But as per usual, the media has pulled the wrong reign. Buddy is a sacred cow. I think he's a different sort of a cow.
  20. Um - it was satire. Obviously not very good satire.
  21. Regarding the backline . . . and to some unremarkable salient points made by some posters that I am now going to remark upon. I would say they (and 'they' are named later on - I have no fear) are all pretty one-dimensional back there. And the comp is full of OD players. Just in my era alone: Hudson simply chat himself when shooting for his 151st goal - no good under pressure at all. Robbie Flower the same. Often missed running goals in the wet from 55 metres out after taking the ball at half back and being bashed by Matthews for his trouble. Barassi had to permanently move him to half back to save his career. Carey was cr&p as a backman . . . Pagan had to move him forward where he carved out a barely passable career. Voss, Black, Lappin and White were no good in the granny of 2004 - lost the plot in the fourth quarter - wonder any of them played another game quite frankly. And don't get me started on Dusty . . . slack bast*#d only plays well in grannies. So yeah - unfortunate Maysie, Jake the Snake, Tommy Petty, Pig Hibbo and Christian Salem need to take a good long hard look at themselves this week. The future of the club depends on it.
  22. Thanks TT. It's the lack of connection between players and lines that causes us grief more than turnovers. Players that get the ball a lot are going to have a higher rate of turnovers. This is because they get the ball in heavy traffic where the tempo is white hot and shoving the ball out through a cluster for 20 players is the work of magicians. For three years Dusty was the best player in the game by a fair distance, yet he was also in the top 10 turnover merchants in the game. Paradoxically, he is also one of the cleanest ball handlers I've ever seen when outside the player scrum. Took Miller may win this years Brownlow, and he's the biggest turnover merchant in the game! My point is this . . . blaming Melbourne's defeat on turnovers at the expense of examining why they are occurring will not provide an accurate diagnosis of the teams problems.
  23. We need to go hard after Zurhaar, McStay, Lobb, Tom Green, Hopper.
