I know we love trading back into the draft with future picks and I usually love it. This year we just have to keep that 2026 1st round pick, commit to a year of playing the kids with a new coach and copping a year or two at the bottom. Maybe try for the mini draft picks tassie will have our something I don't know, but embrace the slide and inject ample youth. I've previously largely felt a whole rebuild wasn't necessary but now I see it as the only way out.

I've resented Trac somewhat for what he did end of last year, and have been hypercritical of his footy since then. But you need to know when to look in the mirror and realise that you're the problem. Trac needs to be politely asked to sit down in front of the members and asked one question: "what is wrong with the football club?" Let him talk for as long as it takes, no details spared and use specific examples. And if this is what it takes then after he helps us we will help him find a new club.

Or, none of that is happening and I don't have a clue (most likely option). All of them seem like great pickups and will be stoked regardless.

If he really has said that either club is fine then, it still sucks, but I have a lot of respect for it. Really this is how all go-home cases should be if they do honestly just want to be near family imho.

But I'm also not seriously suggesting we embroil ourselves in more draft controversy. Come on. This really isn't the kind of tampering they're worried about. It doesn't unfairly disadvantage anyone, every club benefits. Clubs try to scare each other by threatening particular picks through the media as it is.

Still praying this is how it went down: GWS want assurance from us we won't bid on Green before trading for pick 4. We say "ok we won't bid, but you gotta promise not to pick Young or Sydney's preferred player, and Sydney, you gotta promise not to pick Young or bid on Green." A trade of words if you will. We then go to Freo who want to trade for 8 and say "alright we'll only do the trade if you promise not to pick Young or Carlton's player, and Carlton in return also can't pick Young". Maybe we got Adelaide involved as well. And BAM Young gets to pick 10.... I can dream.

I hope we split it now, we might be more inclined to take a slider at 12 if we think we can get Pickett or Weightman at 18 instead of having to take them at 10.
