  1. He's not slow. He's tested under 3 seconds for 20 metres at screening. Anything under 3 seconds is considered quick. He's not express, but reasonably quick, i.e. not "slow". To give you an idea of what "slow" is, insert a picture of a recently departed Demon. And I don't mean Simon Buckley. So no, not "slow", reasonably quick. Keep saying this over and over in your mind. "Not slow, reasonably quick". When you've said it to yourself 1,000 times send me a pm. "Not slow, reasonably quick".
  2. Trengove is much tougher than Gibbs. He's also having a much better first year - even if it is only 5 games in.
  3. Supporters do understand that Watts was recruited to be a 600-800 goal kicker ? He was the right pick at the right time. I have faith he'll fulfill his end of the bargain.
  4. There are murmurings by Lions supporters that Sherman is out with a corky.
  5. He should be treated with a bit more respect from those scumbags. B)
  6. I have it on very good authority that Thompson left because of Daniher.
  7. Excellent post. Although I prefer it when you're going off your nut on the steps in the members.
  8. As my Brother said to me today, pace has always been a bit of an issue with Thompson and that's only going to be exemplified as he gets older. As much as I don't mind the idea, I'm not sure where I see him fitting in.
  9. If the reports are right and Brown and Black miss then the Lions will a have a solitary premiership player in their line-up. Amazing how quickly eras can end. I don't expect a victory.
  10. Bartram has been a revelation. Good disposal, tough, pace, good decision making. Can it last ? I won't bet my house on it. Dunn is a potatoe. I wonder how many half hearted efforts and undisciplined free kicks he'll give away this week ? He's been a good moving target and does have ability, but he shits me to tears.
  11. Christ ! Thanks. I better cancel the plane tickets.
  12. I remember a few years ago, when we were a Finals team, we were playing a Lions side at the Gabba that were bereft of their best players due to injury. We became quite warm favourites due to their 'outs'. Naturally, we were thumped.
  13. I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand. My first reaction was "G f y, Scott", but I'd contemplate it. Craig would no doubt want Jordie as part of any deal seeing as he was keen to lure him over the summer. No deal.
  14. You've been called out on a self-indulgent, [censored] thread and cast yourself as an overly impatient supporter with little to no knowledge of the subject at hand and no real understanding of developing a young key tall in the current AFL environment. You've done yourself no favours in the credibility stakes.
  15. I think it was more a short=term prediction. It seems as though you've changed your mind on Bail.
  16. Pretty hard to argue against that team. I've got to say how impressed I've been with Bail this year. I saw him turn the ball over with a few shocking kicks in the intraclub and had almost put a pencil through his name. His ability to find the ball and toughness stood out, but his kicking was Godfreyesque. Wow, what a turn around. Just about every kick has been hitting the target, he's a good mark for his size, and really hard at it. My enthusiasm for the guy grows by each match. I'd be tempted to have Bruce or Bennell make way for him in your team.
  17. Thanks for explaining the patently obvious to me. Next time I'm unclear on something I'll send you a pm to help me out. Cheers
  18. Having watched the second half again when I got home last night I reckon you're being very harsh. Just about every disposal hit their target, but a couple of times he took the long option. Dunn's mark and goal being one case in point. Every player gets caught with the ball occasionally (Rioli got Ablett at least twice last week), but I recall only one error of judgment in this regard. His handballs were superb. Amazing reflexes. Loved his game. I don't see he, or Trengove, playing for Casey any time soon. Bailey is rotating them on and off the ground very well and they're often lining up on the wing, which helps protect them from undue physical burdens. They're exceedingly fit, so if they're recovering well I think they'll continue to be played. They need as many games at AFL level as possible. I see zero benefit of them playing at Casey.
  19. Expand on those mistakes you saw today.
  20. Some wanted him dropped this week for Newton You have to love Melb supporters.
  21. Well, Scully played and Newton didn't. And to think that some supporters wanted Scully dropped this week. Astonishing.
  22. I've helped you out there. Also, did anyone notice when the Crows were coming in the last she said that they needed 7 goals to win when they were down by 25 points ? She looked at the goals column, which said 6 goals to 13, but didn't take into account Adelaide's 1 million points. Embarrassing.
  23. No, firstly he's from South Australia and secondly he's clearly not up to it.
  24. I'm not sure. I was too busy cursing his pathetic effort.
  25. In the last quarter Newton shat himself at CHF after spilling an uncontested mark from a beautiful Trengove run and centred pass. If he'd marked the ball and gone back and kicked the goal he may have made it harder for the selectors to drop him.
