I find it slightly interesting that Vanders was omitted rather than managed. Didn't play exactly the same role last week as he has done for most of the year with Tomlinson playing the wing position (the one he was traded in to play). Maybe a sign that Tomlinson has improved in his defensive positioning to assist with our zone enough that Vanders is on the outer. Also only played 62% game time last week which is obviously super low.

On rewatching the Saints game, I think Vanders should be rested. Tomlinson played his role on the wing while VDB started each quarter on the bench and only had 62% game time. I know his game time percentage is always on the low side but this is low even by his standards. He is plugging a hole on that defensive wing for us this year but the short turn around might be too much for his foot.

Who do you have on the wing? Tomlinson?

Fritsch on the wing? Can't see it happening. Surely this isn't what you mean. Who would you play on the wing if Vanders is out? The only option for me would be Tomlinson who was recruited for that role but has been worse than VDB. Or you could pull Baker in out of the cold, but this would be unlikely

I still believe they were the best picks at the time and any clubs with the top two pick would have taken them. Trengove unlucky with the injurys and in hindsight I dont really blame Scully for leaving although the way he did so left a bad taste in the mouth. Criminal not to at least interview Dusty though. Charges should be laid.

I saw both Hore and Petty with the rest of the playing group on the race at the end of the Collingwood game. So they are in the hub. Not sure about the other two.

Saw his game vs Geelong and was impressed. He is a Viney clone and is a great pickup for any club who doesn't already have a small inside mid. Freo would be wrapped with their draft haul. I'm super happy that we chose Jackson. I wanted Young originally but feel like he would have just been a 200 game solid player. With pick 3 you really want a potential super star. Rowell was our number 1 choice and Jackson was 2. Just hoping we can develop him properly.

Lloyd is saying that we need to balance the midfield. He isn't wrong. We are super strong on the inside. On the outside we have Langdon, Tomlinson, vandenBerg, Jones and ANB. Langdon was a second rounder for a reason.T Tomlinsonlooks like a mistake. I love VDB but he is playing that role because we require him to not because he is suited. Likewise Jones. ANB shouldn't get another game. If we replaced these guys with two hard running players with decent pace we would balance our list without giving up to much they don't need to be A graders.

The interesting (and clever) move Brisbane did was have a player sit off the back of Max when he was going for the mark from a down the line kick. Wait till Max is about to take it, then cannon into the back of him, essentially a body spoil preventing him from taking the mark. They knew they were outgunned and planned accordingly. Great coaching from Fagan and nothing illegal to it either.

I think i complain about this every week, but honestly can we please get a 'sounds from the ground' option? The commentators this week nearly had me turning the game off at one point and that was at the point where we were starting to play well too.
