WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
BAMF replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I should clarify... He showed promise and did play a few good games. I just feel that a few posters on here think that promising games equal future gun player. I'm not convinced with his move to the forward line. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY

Gotta be honest. I think Petty is vastly overrated on here. -
Redbull/MFC Mini Advertorial in The Age...

The majority of people have coffee in the morning. This isn't really that much different. Gladly take the money. -
Mate. He kicked into his own players back from 3m away at one point. P.s. would have gladly kept him
-
I was really keen for Lever. Was happy with the price at the time. He injured his knee again which changes everything. Of course Adelaide are ok with it. No one would say that we have gotten value out of the trade as yet.

Nick Riewoldt claims it shows we lack maturity. This coming from the former StKilda player who was captain when the following occured; Players slept with underage highschool girls 2 players accused of rape Reports of a drug culture problem Playing group set a dwarf on fire Players took photos of each other naked and uploaded them to the internet. Good thing they won some premierships during this time or people might think that Nick is a bit of a [censored].

I took the bait. Goodwin gives the impression that we are still a young team who have no chance of winning a premiership and are still in development mode.
-
Jesus I hate our gameplan.
-
I was thankful for him when he took that mark in the dying minutes.... Then he kicked it to Fritsch in a 3 v 1. Wtf? Hoping we just had a lot of rust
-
Hmm.. didn't think of the vfl being cancelled. Great point. Maybe its just that I expected him to play his way through Casey before getting a senior game. It still feels like we are throwing caution to the wind just to play him. I stand by calling out that rubbish article though. King has a habit of making these quasi 'its now or never' statements and it annoys me greatly.
-
What a horrendous article. Well done guys for drumming up something to talk about while nothing is happening... But this is pretty poor. “Melbourne need to see him, I think they’ve gotta see him,” “You’re either right or you’re not, aren’t you?" “They need to find out." Or... We could just ease him back through Casey for a week or two which would be more logical than "We gotta see him"
-
As Mooney said... Believe it when I see it. But at least they have put it out there that they are attempting to fix it. Round 1 was a real kick in the guts for the hope I had that this would be fixed over the preseason
-
I remember those times. Many thought letting him go was the right choice (I can't remember my opinion). We had all bought into the rebuild. All we needed to do was draft a heap of good kids with high draft picks, insert 100games into all of them and we would be a great team and win many premierships. We didn't need Junior as he wasn't going to be there for the glory years. In hindsight it was all wrong. It was wrong for the supporters for believing it, but it was a shocking administration that delivered it without doing the development we thought was occuring at the same time.
-
I think letting him go was a mistake in hindsight. But I also remember having discussions on here about whether we should keep him or not at the time and there were a lot of people in both camps. It really is blown out of proportion though. Keeping Jnr wouldn't have changed things even a tiny bit in the long run.

I read the chapter in Chris Judd's book about this. We were never in the race. He says he named us as an option initially as he went for us as a kid, but he never seriously considered us.
-
Will give it a listen. Very keen to hear what he has to say about Joel's injury management.

Robbo & Green Review the 2000 Qualifying Final
BAMF replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
not how i recall it. In fact he was the only one I really remember flying the flag. -
Here's a career comparison with Weid Quick answer. Nearly the same. People saying we should get him because Weid is no good haven't seen enough of McCartin play. He has never been good. He never got past the diabetes let alone the concussion
-
that's a big if in my opinion.
-
We sold our games to Darwin or Alice for WC the last few years haven't we?
-
The club really has a lot to answer for. What a terrible performance. 'To hell and back'... what a joke. What a pitiful performance. Once again we are all talk. Lets talk about the game plan. Back in 2018 when we were actually winning games I posted on here that I hated our game plan. Fwd press no matter what. Bomb it into our forward line as quick as you can and try to lock it in. The quick transition out means that the opposition get the easiest of goals. It's terrible to watch. Simply terrible. My heart is in my mouth the whole game. When I brought it up on here, a regular poster said that this isnt what our game plan is and nearly a direct quote... "Do you think Goody is telling them to bomb it to the opposition?" A few weeks later Goody confirms that our game plan is 'Chaos ball'. I've given Goody time, because he keeps saying that we need to improve 'the connection with our forwards' but he isnt delivering on these words. I find his media talk quite confusing and hard to listen to. I assumed this was just his persona to the media, but maybe this is just his communication style and the players arent getting it. 3 years in and we continue to bomb it in. It's simply not good enough. I cannot see how we had Paul Roos defensive first/limit fumbles game plan and then have transitioned into this rubbish. We used to talk on here about 'Coach Killers' when a player would put in a terrible performance. Well... right now, Goody is a 'Player Killer'. No one enjoys being beaten like this. The players heads go down so quickly because they have to try and sprint back to stop the quick transition. They are physically and mentally spent by quarter time. They are clearly not enjoying playing the game.
-
Its not my system. Its Champion datas. Its also now supercoach points. Not joking. 5 points. Only players that get injured in the first 10 minutes finish with that score.
-
Spargo has 5 ranking points. 5.
-
Tomlinson has taken to the game plan quickly. Bomb it in.

Darling just treated OMac like a complete dud.
