True. 3 quarter time?
-
This could be a turn off the Tele at quarter time sort of day. Very fortunate the Hawks are weakened with there significant outs of Hodge, Lewis, McEvoy and now Smith.

It does [censored] me off the way the media hacks go out of their way to refer to Watts as the 'number 1 draft pick' in their team reports. FFS, it's coming up 7 years since he was drafted, he's clearly not lived up to a lot of people's expectations and is not hard enough for today's game. Please, just report it as Watts dropped you muppets.

I have a strange feeling that there will be more than just a bit of niggle in this game. My concern will be that the Hawks are much better than us at that and we'll be put off our game with very negative consequences.

If both Frawley and Lake make a return we will not score enough. Giants played them at their weakest, we'll not be so fortunate.

Cancel the current contract and offer him 7 on big $ from next year and take him through to 2022 by which time he'll have multiple premiership medals.
-
Dawes needs to take a game or two for the team this weekend and use his physicality to upset the Hawks. If he cleans up Roughead I reckon that will be enough.

Doggies forked out $1M per year for Boyd and on current projections Hogan will be a better player. Please don't berate me about how early it is in their careers either. It's the closest thing to apples we can compare against.

The interesting thing about Ruckmen is now that the grappling before the throw-in has been eliminated and centre circle ball-ups are being analysed to death by the umps, a modern day ruckman doesn't need to be a big and heavy beast of a bloke anymore. Put Howe into the ruck and watch how many clearances we win. He would palm it to our advantage more times than Jamar, Spencer and Gawn combined.

The type of player that could play all over the ground and get used to any position quickly. The back flank is an excellent place to play and get plenty of the pill to build confidence.

Does this now seem clearly an over-reaction on your behalf?

Clear leader in "GIF OF THE YEAR" race.

I would target blokes at the tail end of their careers, at and around the 30 year old mark. Lasts years biggest would've been Malceski although at this stage he's not as effective in a currently poor team as the Suns are. But looking at a clear number one player of this age bracket for mine, would be Sam Mitchell. He's still incredibly fit and having huge influence in the Hawks team. I get the desire to bring in a gun like Shiel on big bucks, I can see equally as much credit in going for an older A grader on a decent contract with probably more salary than he was previously on at his current club. I still think we've got a great core of under 22 - 23 year old mids that will deliver under some extra guidance from someone like Mitchell. Bringing in blokes like Shiel may begin to starve the other blokes of opportunity and we end up in GWS situation where these young fellas start looking elsewhere.

We've been getting pushed around and off the ball for years but I really do believe it's beginning to change. The win against the Suns we were brutal and showed some real mongrel as we did against the Tigers and in our game against the Crows we showed some fierceness at the contest - let alone Vince's individual game. Sydney are a great team with some hardened footballers. I wouldn't say they are collectively stronger than our team but they're certainly better footballers who've played together for much longer and are more confident in the game plan and each other. Hawks will bully the team next week but I'm hoping we'll take it up to them and without Hodge and Lewis our younger guys shouldn't be as intimidated - as the Giants showed yesterday. I don't think whatever version of the LCHF diet they've been doing has resulted in us getting shoved around because it's probably happened less this year than previous years.

For you you SWYL. Not surprisingly, I'm not real worried about the outcome.
-
Why is he even playing?

In my hotel room in Amsterdam hitting refresh on my phone because I can't get the game up to watch. Looks like it might be a safer option to head off for a choof this arvo.

Tongue in cheek lads.

I've read some dumb shyte on here before and your comments are right up there. Hogan has massive potential. Neitz is proven MFC gun.

Thanks for reminding me that channel 9 have two horrendous footy programs.
