  1. Much better feeling than wondering when we'll win one. And we've all been there.
  2. The closest the ball has been to Eagles' goal is when the Swans' defender kicked it backwards.
  3. More from BF. Seems quite fair: "First thoughts about the game this Saturday are these... Melbourne's main strength is our main weakness in that they dominate teams with their intercept marking in their defence and our most glaring weakness who everyone can see except the coaching staff it seems is our inability to contest in our forward half and being able to hold the ball in. WORRYING. Sitting the ball on Himmelberg and Hogans head to watch Melbourne take 30 intercept marks is going to no doubt bring out the pitch forks from the GWS faithful. Secondly kicking any kind of score against Melbourne seems somewhat impossible with them having conceded 71, 69, 70 & 36 points in the first 4 rounds of the year which makes it the lowest in the league. All the while our points for is ranked 14th in the league... So buckle yourselves in for Leon to make this the most boring game of football you have ever witnessed in your life. He might try for a soccer score type game of 2 goals a piece and hope we win the penalty shoot out at the end of the game. With Preuss out we will get absolutely monstered in the ruck by Gawn & Jackson and Melbourne's wings will be all but licking their lips moving about the vast expanses of the MCG turf like field raised chickens while our wingers make sure we get more numbers behind the ball. I feel (and hope) this could be Leon's last game as coach but no doubt our players will turn up and actually put in effort, not let the opposition walk around them and break our pathetic tackling and keep our season and Leon's career alive... 4. Dunstan made the trip. Sighted boarding bus. Possible medi-sub.
  5. Thanks for your reply. By what method did it come through? My 'ticket' just has a 'ticketmaster verified' footer and the More Options button is inactive (light grey). All good - First rule of IT help. Log out; log in.
  6. Has anyone cracked the ticketing system? Reserved seat member. Followed instructions via app for ticket to pre season game and have been allocated a ticket - gate, section and seat all visible. Last step is to view barcode but I can't see that option. Currently setting a record for on hold hearing the club song on repeat. Any clues appreciated.
  7. For entertainment value only. After being told he wouldn't be a full forward as long as his RRs pointed to the ground. But really - Tulip, for all the reasons everybody else quoted. Even stood out in state of origin games.
  8. Nonetheless, we all appreciate the effort you make to keep us informed!
  9. I'm old enough to have seen Laurie play and to be taught history by him at Melbourne High. A good bloke, popular teacher and sadly missed.
  10. Reminds me of the one time Laurie Mithen took my Latin class. Wrote on the board 'Mihi Caesar es ergo. Forte dux in ero.' Which he translated: My eye, Caesar, here's a go. Forty ducks ion a row.' ....... and thanks for the training report. Much appreciated from one who wimps on the hour journey to Casey.
  11. Eliminating mark and kick, the choices are: a) When he was the only one who knew the ball was touched and bounded through traffic to kick on the run; b) Bursting out of the centre to kick from 60 metres on the marginally more elegant run; or c) Outmuscled ruck in the pocket and kicked the goal even he did not think would go through. Incidentally, well done team. Few on line but 99 pages and rising.
  12. In a valiant attempt to get this to 100 pages by New Year's Day, when did you know we had won the GF? For me it was that moment in the PF, so far ahead in the 3rd quarter but Gus and Hibbo were madly diving in the Geelong goal square to deny even a point. Then I thought 'they will not let anybody beat them'.
  13. Sitting in the open so have joined the raspberry faced squad. Just need a few bruises and it'll match my red and blue polo.
  14. Consolation for the level 4 party team - My Level 1 seats will look decidedly less flash if it rains. Watching the long range forecast closely.
  15. The code in the email is different to the normal membership code. If still stuck, DM me. I have a spare.
  16. relatively painless. tickets secured in 2 minutes.
  17. This will cause a major re-ranking among the table tennis players at the club. I'm with those who, sentimentally, would like to see Jonesie in the role. Imagine the reception when he runs onto the ground as runner in a final.
  18. there are browser extensions that can get around paywalls. I use Extreme Paywall Bypasser. It pays to turn it off when not needed as it can interfere with sites you have a paid subscription to.
  19. There's a brilliant program called Calibre which is supported by donations only, so free if you're skint, that converts any ebook format and has a built in reader. Highly recommend.
  20. Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb are absolute artists. Several years in a row trading up the draft. Most recently for Bowser and Laurie and before that for Kozzy and Rivers. I recall Taylor's excitement 'we're gonna get the Riv; we're gonna get the Riv' before the cheeseboard appeared.
  21. Mods: should the MFCSS thread be merged in here? Oh wait, we'll need that next year at first sign of injury or loss. Best keep them separate.
  22. Bowser also more comfortable kicking with non-preferred. I laughed when I saw the official AFL teamsheets that had him matched to Ratugalea but figured he could always reach up and tickle him. To quote Spargs "If you're good enough, you're tall enough.
  23. More power to you. Outstanding effort. Thanks for the research and splicing.
