CASEY: Rd 16 vs Sandringham
Some of the delivery's been a bit ordinary. Under blusty conditions though. Might help if the Jeffo & Roohey worked to get front position a tad more

Round 17, 2023 Marvel Stadium - Saints vs Demons A significant lift on the team rating but still 7% off this season's average. A fair part of that no doubt the Clarry effect. May winding back the clock to eclipse his 4.300 rating in Rnd 10 vs the Power with his best result for the season. Maxy a bit of a concern, 26% off his season average. Kozzy falling off a cliff.... down a massive 72%! McVee well up on his usual output. A bit strange as i didn't notice him as much as i usually do. Would be interested to know what others thought of his game? PREGAME: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
Ruck assistance up forward for sure. JVR a critical 'IN' from here If we're to perform well in Sept. We continue to play Grundy for significant minutes in third quarters. Unfortunately this allows the oppo to dominate the CBs and swing the momentum back their way. Goody & Co. need to review this strat. Max starting CBs from the opening bounce and playing most of the time there in third quarters is a must if we're to have a chance against the really in form clubs imv.

Them's the breaks Bystander. Can't carry players in a form slump at this level for weeks on end in the hope it somehow clicks in a future match at some point. Too costly and can be the difference on the day. Possibly even the diff between a top 4 spot or missing out on the double chance. If we were sitting 3 games or more clear its a little different and gives the SC a bit more wriggle room.- PREGAME: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
Can't see the SC bringing Harmes back for some time after last week's performance. There's some very good performances happening at Casey of late. Follow up results this week might see one or two sticking their hand up. The two small forward spots in particular must surely be up for grabs along with Smith's sub position. In particular JVR, Jefferson, Sestan, Dunstan, Moniz and Chandler will be interesting watches. Another good result from JVR surely sees him come in to join BB. Subject to bringing that form it would be crazy not to have him in against the Lions. Best to take a good look at the Casey performance today before making calls on ins/outs.- PREGAME: Rd 18 vs Brisbane
Has to be at least two weeks at Casey. Became the invisible man last night and mostly ball watching / chasing tail. He had one effective spoil, a couple of effective disposals (barely), i think a few turnovers and a couple of tackles / pressure acts. Zero impact on the match and in general play. Really sad to watch. He is so badly out of form he can't even gather a loose ground ball atm and mostly just over runs them leaving it to others to get, including the oppo. Still going for last minute speckie attempts against big boys up forward and never takes them. No front and square work or effective work. Any touch he had earlier in the season has completely gone. If Moniz can string another game or two with the form he showed last week, plus some serious defensive heat inside 50, there's no reason he shouldn't be in serious contention as an alternative. Subject to bringing that, he could be very close to joining Woe on debut. Kozzy's left the door ajar big time and not just with last night's performance.- POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs St Kilda

Ok folks . .. so remember that dump kick from Salo there. Under heat thats gonna happen 8 out of 10 times. And guess what.... you need a solid marking player, preferrably a genuine CHF right where Sparrow was there. Fix that and you solve a gapping hole in this forward structure and give alot more confidence to those up the field coming towards 50- GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda

If we lose this it will be as a result of losing the 2nd ball to the Saints . Very few crumbers at the drops, shocking at loose ball gets and contested ball gets. Can't maintain a chain beyond about 3 or 4 possessions Still cant find targets inside and not enough forwards lead or time their leads at all towards the ball carrier. Talls / mediums continue to sit back at the top of the square or just outside the goal line. Where are the short shallow kicks (on occasions) to a leading forward around 40 to 50 meters out to at least maintain possession, have a shot at goal, eat up the clock and give our mids a rest and HBs more time to set up an effective wall?????????? The Saints were dominated for most of that quarter and we could still barely convert after so many entries. Forward craft Pffft! CRAPPOLA!- GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda
