Yes Kozzy but if we start sending Kozzy to others you can kiss alot of the most important side of his game away. Not for mine ty. Isn't Spazz supposedly one of our quickest on certain trials? If so why aren't we blooding him into a regular go-to tagger when needed such as this match up? He doesn't bring enough on the attacking side already so surely if we are playing him his value lies in this type of role? We have Brown dog as a potential option also.- PREGAME: Rd 11 vs Sydney
While i'm not suggesting he is being played in a dedicated forward role, there is enough evidence in Viney's last three matches (prior to concussion) to suggest that he is now playing significantly more time inside 50 already. At least vs his first 5 matches anyway.- Stats File - 2025 edition
Player & Team RatingForm Guide - Rnds 1 to 5 vs Rnds 6 to 10Our team Rating over the last 5 weeks indicates we are now performing roughly on par with our 2022 & 2023 rating and almost 3% up on 2021. It also does not include Lever who would more than likely improve the rating somewhat. This comparison includes players that have played two matches or more (in total) in both blocks of games in 2025. Tracc would appear to be back! In the last five rounds he is roughly 1% up vs his 2024 rating. A big turnaround from his first five rounds where he was approx 28% off 2024. An amazing lift from the skipper as well! < Subbed out > Subbed in In his last three matches, Viney improved 78% on his poor early season form. Jumping 11 places from 15th to 4th. More impressively, up 22% on his 2024 rating. A change of role and time played up forward? His average tackle count inside 50 has increased by 4 tackles per match in his last three matches. His average tackles also up by nearly 8 per game over this period. He was also averaging just under a goal per match in those three matches vs zero goals in the first five rounds. Pre the bounce Claz would find Neale and close check till the ball hit the deck. Post that they just went their own way Bin. Other than if they happened to come together in their attempts to extract or get on the end of a clearance etc. There was no heavy lock down or run with (shut down) role from Clarry other than the initial checking as the ball was bounced or balled up. In general play Claz does not look for Neale and just plays his own contest to contest game as well as guarding grass in the rolling zones. Neale also payed no attention to Clarry in general play as they both just played and ran the patterns they'd normally do. Last week yes. This week not from what i witnessed. Reckon Clazz was instructed to play his own way after the initial pre-bounce (and during the ruck contest) checking. Was he effective at some of the initial checking? Sometimes yes. Post that he couldn't go (two way defensively) with anyone right now and i think SG & the coaches know this. Watch how Clazz fails to pick up McCluggage as he runs past him after a turnover with about 5 minutes to go in the first. McCluggage ends up on the end of a long Hipwood pass into the corridor from the wing. Who then hits up Cameron who finds Morris for the goal. Clarry barely able to jog back into D5O as this happens all around him. Your definition of a shut down must be very different to mine. Will agree to disagree on this one in a shut down / run with sense.- POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
That's a complete myth. Started off on Neale at bounces / ball ups as a reference then they went their separate ways. Clayton was back to his best (in terms of his best form this year which is pretty good but still a fair way off his top end from 21 - 23) because he did not play a close checking role he was asked to play last week and which resulted in a decent gain to the Hawks / Newcombe on the day. Most player ratings had Newcombe a fair way in front last week and Clarry just pipping Neale this week, even though it wasn't a head to head shut down this week like last week.- Stats File - 2025 edition
Team & Player Ratings to Rnd 10, 2025 vs H&A Season 2024 As highlighted after our Rnd 7 game vs the Tigers, our Team Rating (presently 68.58) continues to see us on track to play finals in 2025* and is presently marginally ahead of season 2021 * Subject to the successful return of Lever & Viney along with reasonably minor impact from injuries for the remainder of the season, post their return. * Played less than two full matches < Subbed out at least once or more > Subbed in at least once or more Stats courtesy of footwire.com & wheeloratings.com- Stats File - 2025 edition

Vines for Sharp Brown dawg for Spargo I'd swap roles between Petty and Turner Lever needs another week at least imv. It might be that we just scrape in. Who knows, maybe we storm in. But if we get Lever & Viney back and and we can keep the bulk (say 90%+) of our best 22 on the park from here, our Team Rating (from two weeks ago) suggests we are on track to play finals.- VOTES: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
Melk - set the tone from the get go, clear winner over both opponents and stuck it right up em. Gawn - beat em at the drop, beat em at the bounce, beat em down the line and behind the ball. Pickett - 2nd best game for the year. Work rate was superb Clazz - 2nd efforts coming back along with a little more of his old "see ball get ball" instinctive ways Tracc - 2nd game where his Player Rating trumped his 2024 rating. Might have found his mojo & AFL level fitness again Bowza - another rock solid performance and his best season so far in the red & blue- Stats File - 2025 edition
Round 10, 2025 GABBA - Lions vs Demons Upset of the season yes? That's probably our finest win since we put together two on the trot against the Crows and Power in consecutive weeks in Adelaide in 2024. Our Team Rating just below theirs by 2%. Our Top 6 not quite at their level where they took the chocies by nearly 7%. However, it was our bottom 6 this time around, where we won the ratings battle by 29%. Big Maxy does it yet again, just ahead of Kozzy. Great games from both imv and Kozzy's second highest Player Rating for the season behind his outstanding game vs Freo in Rnd 6 (5.55). Tracc beating his 2024 form in two of the last three weeks. Is he finally over the recovery / AFL fitness - form hump? Clarry just pipping Neale in the head to head stakes! A win's a win. I don't think there was a tight clamp down here though as both players posted very respectable ratings and both finished in their respective top 5 players (5th x 2!). Melky a very welcome return. Amazing what a difference an injection of class, experience and genuine forward craft can have on a team and the result. Well managed by Goodwin & Co. A big tick here What happened to Windsor in this game. I didn't think he was stone motherless last but he's posted the worst Player Rating. Do i need to re-check my numbers maybe? What do others think of his game? Carrying a niggle or something? Vines in for Sharp or Spargo next week? Great work Wheelo ty... Some big advantage wins in this match. In particular.. Scores from turnover, scores from stoppage. No matter how small, to win this one is a great sign also... First Possession To Clearance % 80.9 80.5 +0.4 75.4 I believe our average here for the season has been around the 75% mark or so. The AFL average is around 80 or thereabouts. That's a great result against quality oppo. Noting a much higher CB attendance from Tracc and Rivers compared to their season averages. And to a lessor extent, Clarry and Kozz. Not sure what that means but it tells me we asked for more from those four and that's what we got. And most importantly we got the W.- POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
YOU BLOODY BEAUTY NEWC! Lead by Clarry's first three quarters and some nice work in the middle in the 4th from him and Tracc. What a contribution from Melk. You can see how much he hates this mob 💪🏼- GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane

The dreaded 4th quarter. Can we turn one around for a change or does Training two days out from a game come back to bite us in the arzzz once again!?- GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
