  1. Dragged them down to our level. Still so wasteful going forward. We are infuriating to watch. Hunt and Hibbo seem a bit more switched on which is nice.
  2. How can you even respond to this before we’ve played? You need to see where we land with injuries, possible suspensions, form etc.
  3. Raining in Collingwood at the moment, sky is very grey and gloomy.
  4. I think that we can handle, it's more actual rain that seems to make us literally have a meltdown. Besides even in the rain last week I felt that we were down a tall, so Weids playing is not an issue. He isn't exactly a clunky forward, he is quite agile and he can give Gawn a chop out in the ruck, which after Harmes' effort last week is much needed.
  5. Buy a reserved seat membership. Problem solved* *Reserved seat membership does not come with a guarantee that we will be a better team or that you will feel less annoyed about our performances.
  6. What worries me is that Goodwin and the other coaches don't think they are communicating down to the bench well enough. Why is this a concept we are struggling with? Are the players to blame? Do our coaches have a communication problem? Do they want Macca on the bench to help with tactical changes on the ground during quarters? Anyway if McCartney is in charge of both player and coach development, how can he develop coaches if he is not in the box on game day assessing what is going on, which is the most important part of any coaches' job.
  7. I'm in Collingwood (maybe 2km from the G) and it just down poured for about 2 minutes and stopped. It doesn't look promising for tonight. If we've learnt anything from last weekend, it's that we can't play in the wet.
  8. Stupid Melbourne weather!
  9. What if they want him to play against Essendon because we need speed against Essendon on the faster Etihad track? If we lose tonight it won't be because we missed Fritsch.
  10. No issue with playing Weids. If we don’t play him now, with TMac out, then when do we play him? He has to get senior games to get better and develop.
  11. I would say Fritsch having a rest and might be back for Essendon off a short break. I worry about losing leg speed but I suppose Hunt and Stretch in balance that out a bit. Not confident at all.
  12. Today’s result makes me even more disgusted with our performance last week. We are our own worst enemy. From 4th to 13th with a woeful percentage. Yes it’s only round 5, but gees we are a pathetically infuriating side and I’m sick of copping [censored] from everyone about being a Melbourne supporter.
  13. As some of us said last year, key defenders take a long time to mature and Oscar has certainly come on quicker than I expected. His calmness has really stood out this year while the rest of our backline has been [censored] their pants and running in circles. A real improver this year, in what I feel has been a disappointing start to the year for many players who seem to have stalled or regressed.
  14. Great news re: TMac and Viney. Viney running and kicking in boots is really good news. Hopefully that means he isn’t pulling up sore anymore. Their inclusion in the side cannot come quickly enough. Both structurally and from a leadership perspective. Also good news that Bugg appears to have been dropped. I’m going to have a heart attack or a nervous breakdown one day watching him kick the pill.
  15. Should start kicking goals from 20m out directly in front as a leader. Just saying.
  16. True Melbourne supporters would know that because we got thrashed last week, weirdly we are more of a chance to play well this week. Besides this game is very special, and the pre-match ceremony alone is worth going for. Lucky I work in Collingwood, because trains will be a nightmare and there's no parking. Uber from work it is. Get there early if you are going. Getting into the ground last year was a drainer.
  17. Agreed. While I don't want him playing senior footy at the moment, it certainly was not my hope that he is forced out of the team with injury. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
  18. Said it more than once too. Exceptional was his word. The mind boggles.
  19. He is a soul crushing football. He literally [censored] every contest he’s involved in. A momentum killer. Goodbye.
  20. Wrong place to come after a loss if you want no negative comments. Hell, wrong place to come any time if you’re looking for positivity.
  21. But he can’t fix his kicking. History suggests that last week was a fluke. He is the biggest energy drainer in this team. He is a momentum killer. He is a liability. Not a serious finals team with him. Needs to go. Next.
  22. I know he’s hardly a world beater but we lack class and I think Stretch has class. He’s a good kick, he is not exceptionally slow and I thought he was starting to come good under Roos. We are playing too many of the same type of mid-sized plodders who give us little. Harmes, Melksham, Bugg... I mean roll them into 1 player and the result is the same. For all his flaws ANB is a hard runner and covers a lot of ground. And he can kick a bloody goal. The other 3 are on a hiding to nothing at the moment. As for Lewis, I’ve beaten that dead horse enough. I’m sick of his shizen and he needs to retire.
  23. Lacking confidence? Fumbles galore.
