  1. The lack of riddles this year has really been disappointing. What happened to everyone on Demonland with inside knowledge and mates?
  2. Could have gotten Patton for a future 4th rounder. Honestly how the feck does Hawthorn do that?! Daylight robbery every single year.
  3. Pick 3 and 8 for 6 and Jeremy Cameron? I jest of course. But imagine...
  4. Or they think we will finish bottom 4 next year
  5. No reason we would do this unless we had someone in mind for pick 8, or we are about to split pick 3.... this week just got interesting again. God I hope we get Papley with pick 8.
  6. The 3.5 games he played last year were enough to show what a great pick up he was. The rest of the months he spent being fat and unfit proved that he needed a wake up call. Get his body right and he will make us a 50% better defensive side.
  7. I would only split it with GWS and only if their pick 6 is involved. We need to remain in the top 10 of the draft. It’s been a while since we’ve had a top 10 pick and it hopefully will be a while again. Our list is at risk of becoming unbalanced with age. We need to keep topping up with real quality in the bottom age bracket. Ideally GWS’ desperation for pick 3 helps us win the deal by getting a quality youngster as well. Then I think it’s a win win.
  8. It matters little how many players nominate your club if you can’t get jack [censored] done during the trade period because you’re incompetent.
  9. Correct. It’s great to get players to say they want to come to your club, but if your club cant get [censored] done eventually players won’t come asking. Lever, May, Tomlinson, Langdon... we’ve gotten some big trade done quickly and easily the last few years and also did the right thing by player who wanted out. No point being a stubborn [censored]. Better one bird in the hand and all that.
  10. Adelaide and Freo are more of a basket case right now than us. Even if they finished higher on the ladder.
  11. There’s a reason why every year we target our players and we get the deals done. While idiots like Essendon sit around and wonder what happened at the deadline. Chest beating doesn’t get you the players you want. And being notoriously good to deal with makes us an attractive proposition for both opposition clubs and players seeking trades. Also lol at Bell asking about Angus in the Langdon deal. He probably wanted Angus and pick 3 for Langdon, so to virtually trade a future 2nd round pick and steak knives is a big win.
  12. Fantastic deal. Waiting for all the moaners to say we got shafted and that Langdon is slow and can’t kick in 3...2...1...
  13. This. Everyone should read this and move on with their misery. We wanted Frost gone. Just like we wanted Watts and Hogan gone. Make no mistake, we don’t lose players we want to keep because of money. We can afford to pay. We just choose not to.
  14. He has the whole 'brooding' thing going on. Not a bad looking guy. Complexion really suits red and blue. Then again, nobody looks good in orange!
  15. Agreed. For his size he is very light footed and athletic. People comparing him to Jones and Lewis on the wing have NO idea. He is also an elite mark, and how often were we coming out of the backline this season with literally nobody to kick to (except Gawn vs. 19 opponents)? We lost Hogan who played so well roaming up the ground and taking marks as a link up man. Tomlinson really fills that gap and will allow us to transition the ball more purposefully up forward.
  16. I wonder if they're thinking of using him as a backup ruck. It sure as [censored] beats having Tmac there, robbing us of our only key forward, with his dodgy foot / ankle / shoulder / leg / etc
  17. Kent Kingsley is coming out of retirement to join Melbourne and repay us for all those years that we kept his career alive by letting him kick bags against us?
  18. Agreed. Get it done and move onto finding a small forward so we do not have to spend the entire 2020 watching ANB butcher the damn ball!
  19. Lewis was in his 30s when he came to us, and on his last legs. Tomlinson is in his prime. I don't understand the comparison at all. This guy has played for a very good team for a very long time, he has speed and agility, and he cost us nothing. I don't care about contract lengths and figures, I leave that up to our list managers. I care that we got a quality player who will be in our starting 22 nearly every week, and we did not need to give up a single thing for him.
  20. It would be a massive mistake to trade Gus, unless the deal was one that made us a far better team. He is a very good player who had a poor year, as did like 40 of his teammates. There are wide spread reports that he's had back issues, and he was also played well out of position for most of the year. Nobody thought he was slow when he came 3rd in the Brownlow last year, because he was playing in his natural role as an inside mid, where he excels. Unless he says I'm keen to go, I wouldn't even entertain a trade as neither Freo nor West Coast would have anything good to give us (that they would part with... I mean Gaff or Hill for Brayshaw sure, but lets get real!). I understand we have a surplus of inside mids, but contested ball wins premierships. You can never have too many quality ball winners.
  21. A massive slap in the face to Melbourne if we were chasing him seriously and he picked the Saints. Last chance ever to play with his brother, and Saints aren't exactly firing. We are not having a good time luring players at the moment. I suppose finishing 17th and being always mostly terrible will do that.
  22. I have no words for the results tonight. Shocked and confused. Gawn robbed. Viney? I just don’t know. 2019 continues to make no sense.
  23. Josh Wagner is a mind boggling decision. And the less I say about ANB the better. The rest you take or leave. Low cost and low risk.
  24. We don’t want to keep Stretch which is fair enough, but Josh Wagner and Neal Bullen get 2 more years?! Jesus.
