  1. Yep, we also had lots of great draft picks that we wasted, which didn't help. At least they have some decent kids they have picked up recently. Their issue will be keeping them together if they continue to get thrashed.
  2. Apparently losing to Melbourne is a win now.
  3. I've seen the Cats in finals over the past 5 years. The only thing that will improve their chance of wining a flag is a day out where Cameron and Hawkins combine for 10 goals or more. Their midfield and backline is not winning grand finals.
  4. North Melbourne did this to themselves. They finished mid table for a decade, and hence were never in a position to acquire top end talent, both in the draft or trade period. They then decided it was time to rebuild and bottom out hard, and dumped literally every mature player. That left them with a list of inexperienced kids and a massive reliance on 2 older heads one who is sadly battling cancer and one who is quickly coming to the end. It was their choice to do this and so it is no wonder they are uncompetitive. You can't expect a bunch of kids to win games or even play consistent footy. I feel for Noble, because just like with Bailey and Neeld, a lot of the blame has to come on the board, footy department and recruiters. If North signed off on this type of list burning, then I don't know what other outcome they could have expected in the short term. They traded a 60 goal a year forward for a second round draft pick for goodness sake. That is not how you bottom out!
  5. There is no point playing easy teams and making finals. If you can't beat top sides, you won't go far in September. Last year we beat everyone in the top 8. I rather play hard games and test ourselves and our game plan against the best sides heading into finals. What do Geelong get from playing North and West Coast other than a false sense of achievement?
  6. Would be great if Fritta and Brown can repeat their goal tally from the last game we played in Perth.
  7. Jones hit Oliver high. Regardless of how hard he hit him, Clarry made sure we got a 50m and that is a professional thing to do. He didn't duck, he didn't drop his knees, he took a hit and the only [censored] in this scenario is Jones.
  8. Trust West Coast to get a heap of players back this week… and still lose
  9. This. Unfortunately Rivers is the most dispensable down back, although he does do a good shut down role. Gus stays back and Salem replaces Rivers. Depending on form and fitness I wouldn’t be totally against trying Rivers on a wing alternating with JJ as he has good pace and a booming kick. Not sure he has the endurance however.
  10. No team backing themselves to win a flag is going to tag 3 players, they will go in backing their own system. And the rest of the teams are just crap so good luck to them.
  11. He is literally the best guy to listen to in footy. Just so happy and relaxed. It definitely doesn’t sound that bad and if they even suspected a PCL he would be on crutches for sure. Still reckon he takes a week off and doesn’t do that god awful trip to Perth.
  12. The next two games will hurt us if we cop injuries. Otherwise I expect we collect the 4 points with minimum fuss and move on
  13. Wow Langdon with 39 and still can’t crack top votes. Wingers get nothing 😂
  14. Lyon, gets it right as often as Malthouse.
  15. Exactly, should be 187.
  16. If Gawn is not 100% he needs to rest. Too important to risk. Just play Weideman or Daw.
  17. Lever bottom 7? What now?
  18. Would you take pain killers for a corky?
  19. Freo game will tell us more than the Brisbane game IMO as Freo play a very similar game style to us. Brisbane is a totally different team although a much more talented one than Freo on paper.
  20. He is that far ahead of all other defenders this year it’s a joke he isn’t being spoken about more. It is truly a pleasure to watch this man play live. My favourite thing about watching him live is his leadership. He often calls the backs together for a chat after we concede a goal and calmly (well not really, it is May after all) talks them through positioning. Has held up the backline superbly with the continuous disruptions down there due to injuries and Covid. Just a gun. Second best thing about yesterday, win aside, was Trac coming to the bench in the second quarter, massive smile on his face, woo-hooing. It’s so nice to see how happy our team is. They worked so hard to be in a position to enjoy their footy and it’s only making them better.
  21. Husband is a full Melbourne supporter now. Says “when are WE playing” and all. ANB is his favourite player. That’s how much of a Melbourne supporter he is!
  22. This comment made me lol so hard
  23. MFCSS says we lose the next two games then win the flag.
  24. If only Tom McDonald didn’t kick that goal after the siren in the Grand Final…
  25. Could he have been the hold over emergency? Gawn didn’t look 100%
