We need Dawes taking marks in the forward 50. Use Pedo/Frawley as the lead up forwards. Watts is no good deep so get him the ball for the last kick to Dawes. It's no good having our contested marking forwards playing off half back.

We do everything well in the defensive half. After that we cannot get the ball forward of centre. A centre clearance might help as well.

We had chances to kick more. Watts in the second half running to a open goal as well as Bail. Vince's goal not allowed. I'm sure that there were more chances but I can't think of them all. Fact is we had chances to kick more. Our game plan is great. Last week Port look very tired in the second half and so did the Pies today but we are also tired and our skills drop dramatically. We need to take our chances because we keep the score low and every game is a contest. Port and the Pies took their chances and won. Yes 3 goals is not good enough but no we weren't flooding and we looked to move the ball forward at every chance.

Our game style seems to shock teams in the first half. We need to capitalize on this when we can. Once the filth adjusted they had the ball all to their own. Gawn is a good ruck men but is no good as a forward. He looks for body contact in a marking contest as if it's a ball up. He needs to get those long arms in the air. Pedo and Dunn worked hard all day. In fact the entire back 6 should take credit for keeping the score against low. Dawes and frawley had to work up too far to get their marks and it left us empty down forward.

Gotta keep the ball inside our 50 for longer then 10 seconds. Gawn will be subbed.

Going early on the tips there. I'm still getting over last seasons tipping competition. It was bloody stressful.

What Grimes does not a lot of others on our list can do. Could Blease,Tappy,Strauss,Evans or Alex G read the play the play like Grimes does? I doubt it. He finds space and the ball without his direct opponent getting too many touches. His problem is obvious. His disposal is woeful. Maybe he should be instructed to go for the simple safe kick down the line.

I think the losing margin would have been more if it were at the G. Port looked very fatigued late in the 1st and 2nd Quarter. In the 1st we were able to get a couple of goals back when it looked like a blow out was on the cards. We are far more accustomed to these conditions and a game full of tired players suits our game style more then a shootout. Port love to run straight through the middle and with our tendancy to turn it over Port would have beaten us by a lot more at the G. Selling games into NT makes sense when they are on board as a sponsor. It's a 3 year deal as of now and it could lead to a very long partnership in the future. Paul Roos isn't coaching for free. The messiah still needs to get paid.

I'm frustrated we could've won but it's great to see a effort every week. I'd be a little worried if I was a pies supporter. Dunn was outstanding. His body work was top notch and apart from the attempted torp he didn't do much wrong at all. Tyson is a freakin star. That goal where he tackled, snatched the ball and kicked it from outside 50 was unbelievable. We bust our nut for a goal and it takes time. Right now we need to take our chances as Port did today.

Dunn is saving our backside, Watts looks good on the open ground and I wouldn't be banging on about Jetta on Wingard yet. Chad can get goals very quickly.

The fixture and uneven salary cap just make this game such an awesome experience.
