Is he ok? Vikings opening drive TD.

"If the Pack can earn home-field advantage in the playoffs—meaning they won’t have to play in Seattle—then they’re bound for the Super Bowl" Well it's all over in the NFC. MMQB has the pack going a long way this year and its hard to disagree. I reckon Macca has read this but didn't want to brag about his Packers. If this was written about the Vikes I would of had it up here in a micro second. http://mmqb.si.com/2014/08/19/nfl-green-bay-packers-2014-team-preview/

It is only pre season but it looks a little tougher for San Fran on defence this year. You are right they need a backup QB. If Kap goes down God help you with Gabbert as your main man.

Yeah I saw it. I can't believe he went unblocked. He is a serious threat.

Melbourne asks for draft assistance
cowboy_from_hell replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
The games we won this year were done so on effort. We all remember the Essendon game. The Adelaide game was the same. Carlton played like spuds and so did the Tigers but we still had to bust our nut to get the win. I'm attempting to say that when the players actually apply themselves good things can happen. You can't draft effort. If we were constantly attempting to play football and sucked I would be fine with draft assistance. But the lack of effort we have seen over the last month makes me think a extra pick wouldn't change the outcome of the last few games. -
Welcome to the escape from afl thread JV7. I reckon Atlanta will bounce back a bit this year. Last year was a disaster for you guys but Ryan can play and a fit Julio jones helps.

We are the first team since 1995 to....

It is important as memberships for future years can be made and lost on these home games. A 3 game member may upgrade if he or she can see a win or two when they go. I'm a redleg 11 game member and I went to stuff all home games this year because of terrible time slots and then got bored of seeing this rabble play. I'll downgrade to a 16 game open air membership next year as I assume most of our games will be on at 440 Sunday as we don't deserve to play at any other time. -
You've got the vikes at home week one. Bradford will carve up our secondary without a problem.

Might move to Minnesota. At least then my local team will always show some effort.

Oh t-mac that was disgusting.

Go Vikings. I listened to a pre season NFL game on the Radio instead of watching the start of this putrid game. Easy to say I made the correct decision.
-
Bridgewater takes us down field with under 2 minutes left and gets the game winning TD. Now I will sit in a corner and tell myself it's just pre season over and over again.
-
How did Bradford look? I saw Rodgers took his opening drive for a TD. That's just typical Rodgers.

At least Lindsay Thomas will have a genuine excuse to lay down half dead when we play them next.

Players to target at the end of the year
cowboy_from_hell replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would take Reid. He is mobile and has contested marking skills. He gets squeezed out with Kurt and Buddy on the smaller SCG. He signed a long term deal with Sydney a few years ago. -
It's only pre season but I'm thrilled it's back. This is where I farewell the AFL season. I officially don't care about this season anymore. From what I've seen manziell looked pretty good. Not awesome but he made some solid throws and of course he can run. Clowney looked threatening but Houston have no QB and I mean none. Fitzpatrick looked bad and so did their back up and their rookie savage. Cardinals have a impressive offence with lots of receiving options. Seriously how tough is the NFC west going to be? I think any of them could win the division. Micheal Sam can actually play football. You don't become the SEC defensive player of the year for no reason.

LETS SMASH THE HAWKS TOMORROW!!

Looks like someone knocked off work early and went straight to the pub. -
Man I love the NY jets. This team has had as much success as Melbourne over the last decade and they continue to amuse me. First they bring in tebow and use him on two or three plays a game and kill his career. They give butt fumble a huge contract and then get rid of him for geno smith. They stick with geno through his rookie year and it looks like they have confidence in him to be the guy for this awful organization. So while they say geno is the man they pick up Vick and it's a QB battle all over again. Then Rex Ryan who I believe is a great entertainer says that they don't worry about anyone and the pats should be worried about the jets! Ha ha

Oh golden gate. I've never seen anything so tragic and comical at the same time. Once again the NFC North is interesting. If the packers have a healthy line of receivers then I think it's yours to lose. Tate is at Detroit now so you get to see him a lot more this year.

Any system will be a good one mate as long as it's simple for you as well. As for Teddy I am very happy. He didn't go home after being drafted. He stayed in Minnesota and started working straight away. Johnny Football has soaked up all the attention while Teddy keeps quietly working. I'd say Cassel will start unless Teddy kills it in the pre season games. I can't beleive Ray Rice got a 2 game suspension for what he did to his now wife. The video of her falling out of the elevator is horrible. The NFL can't stand over the top TD celebrations but domestic abuse seems to not be a bother.

I ask this in all seriousness. Is there a major difference between pick 1 and pick 5 this year? Is there a standout player or players? I haven't had a look at the TAC lads this year. At a guess to trade with GWS would have to involve players and picks as I can't see GWS wanting to lose Shiel or Cameron and only move up one spot in the draft.

Last years system seemed to run pretty smooth Macca. I think we all had some dry patches through the year. I started off very well and then for a month I couldn't tip one winner. Strafford came home strong and I was lucky to draw with him. No matter what system is in place it will always be hard but it's a lot of fun. To anyone wanting to enter trust me it is a lot harder then it sounds. After today's game against Brisbane the NFL year could not come any quicker.

Have to disagree with Dawes. He chased, tackled and ran after a man all day. He was making up for a lack of defensive discipline from the rest of our forwards. Once we got the ball in he was stuffed and had 2 on 1's in most contests. He is our only forward who consistently puts on some forward pressure.
-
Just got back. Why did I bother? Brisbane had players waltz around the middle of the ground with no one around them. I can only assume that everyone hates Dawes because we butchered any chance of Dawes being rewarded for effort. Dawes would bust his butt to chase a Brisbane player on the switch because no one else bothered to man up all day and when we had a easy overlap that should of ended with Dawes having a open goal we figured out a way to turn it over. Jetta was very good today and Kent showed some flare with Tyson chipping in as well. Apart from that it was a ordinary day. I had Machine Head stuck in my head all afternoon with Robb Flynn singing "The seasons wither away"
