It's probably a coin flip. Our secondary is still awful but we have improved up front and look to get after the QB. If you can establish the run early and find some rythm in the pass game then with that and your defense you have a very good chance. AP's first run last year went for 79 yards and a TD. Here's to hoping.

Thought he might've made the practice squad but you guys have a ton of depth at defensive end. I think he will find a team in the future the bloke can play.

They don't have much of a flow at the moment. Denver showed they have some defensive issues as well. There is no room for weakness in that division as you would know.

My first thought today was gorgoroth is gonna be [censored]. Its not good to see anyone go down with another ACL. Don't worry about butt fumble. You could go for our old starter now third string QB Christian Ponder. He can't throw deep, makes poor decisions and has no confidence. I'm thinking a trade for one of your all mighty defensive linesmen and your WR Austin.

If Lacy can run like last year and get a few receptions as well the Pack look good. I'm on your blokes this year. Rodgers who I really try to hate for obvious reasons but I can't he is that good. I'm thinking MVP and NFC championship game this year. Losing B.J Raji for the year hurts though. He is a beast. Cassel will start. He has moved the ball pretty well and hasn't made many mistakes. Opening drive he went 2/2 for 84 yards and a TD. Bridgewater is the future. He is calm and intelligent. I have no doubt he will get his chance but as of now Cassel is the man. Our rise or fall will depend on our defence. New coach Mike Zimmer can run a solid defence and today we had 5 sacks and 3 interceptions. Two of those picks were in the red zone. Our secondary is still horrible but unlike last year we are going after the QB.

"If the Pack can earn home-field advantage in the playoffs—meaning they won’t have to play in Seattle—then they’re bound for the Super Bowl" Well it's all over in the NFC. MMQB has the pack going a long way this year and its hard to disagree. I reckon Macca has read this but didn't want to brag about his Packers. If this was written about the Vikes I would of had it up here in a micro second. http://mmqb.si.com/2014/08/19/nfl-green-bay-packers-2014-team-preview/

It is only pre season but it looks a little tougher for San Fran on defence this year. You are right they need a backup QB. If Kap goes down God help you with Gabbert as your main man.

Yeah I saw it. I can't believe he went unblocked. He is a serious threat.

Welcome to the escape from afl thread JV7. I reckon Atlanta will bounce back a bit this year. Last year was a disaster for you guys but Ryan can play and a fit Julio jones helps.

You've got the vikes at home week one. Bradford will carve up our secondary without a problem.

Bridgewater takes us down field with under 2 minutes left and gets the game winning TD. Now I will sit in a corner and tell myself it's just pre season over and over again.

NFL
How did Bradford look? I saw Rodgers took his opening drive for a TD. That's just typical Rodgers.

It's only pre season but I'm thrilled it's back. This is where I farewell the AFL season. I officially don't care about this season anymore. From what I've seen manziell looked pretty good. Not awesome but he made some solid throws and of course he can run. Clowney looked threatening but Houston have no QB and I mean none. Fitzpatrick looked bad and so did their back up and their rookie savage. Cardinals have a impressive offence with lots of receiving options. Seriously how tough is the NFC west going to be? I think any of them could win the division. Micheal Sam can actually play football. You don't become the SEC defensive player of the year for no reason.

Man I love the NY jets. This team has had as much success as Melbourne over the last decade and they continue to amuse me. First they bring in tebow and use him on two or three plays a game and kill his career. They give butt fumble a huge contract and then get rid of him for geno smith. They stick with geno through his rookie year and it looks like they have confidence in him to be the guy for this awful organization. So while they say geno is the man they pick up Vick and it's a QB battle all over again. Then Rex Ryan who I believe is a great entertainer says that they don't worry about anyone and the pats should be worried about the jets! Ha ha

Oh golden gate. I've never seen anything so tragic and comical at the same time. Once again the NFC North is interesting. If the packers have a healthy line of receivers then I think it's yours to lose. Tate is at Detroit now so you get to see him a lot more this year.

Any system will be a good one mate as long as it's simple for you as well. As for Teddy I am very happy. He didn't go home after being drafted. He stayed in Minnesota and started working straight away. Johnny Football has soaked up all the attention while Teddy keeps quietly working. I'd say Cassel will start unless Teddy kills it in the pre season games. I can't beleive Ray Rice got a 2 game suspension for what he did to his now wife. The video of her falling out of the elevator is horrible. The NFL can't stand over the top TD celebrations but domestic abuse seems to not be a bother.

Last years system seemed to run pretty smooth Macca. I think we all had some dry patches through the year. I started off very well and then for a month I couldn't tip one winner. Strafford came home strong and I was lucky to draw with him. No matter what system is in place it will always be hard but it's a lot of fun. To anyone wanting to enter trust me it is a lot harder then it sounds. After today's game against Brisbane the NFL year could not come any quicker.

Going early on the tips there. I'm still getting over last seasons tipping competition. It was bloody stressful.

I'd say St Louis were the biggest winners in the draft. It does say that the Rams are all in on Bradford. He has the protection and defense around him now and I hope he stays fit to prove his worth.

Any team that picks first round QB has a 5th year option on their contract. Ponder was a first round pick and we didn't pick up that 5th year with him. This is his last year in purple and I think freeman is a giant now.He is 3rd string right now I'd say cassell is the starter we re-signed him and teddy will be the back up. No RB's in the first round is the norm now. But it makes them a steal in the later rounds. Defense was the need for most teams and it seemed everyone apart from the jags (bortles at #3) we're gun shy to take a QB early. It was a game to see how long teams could hold out on taking the QB they wanted. Cleveland won by taking a safety at 8 and then striking gold with Johnny in the 20's. Ha ha is an interesting name but he can play. He can blitz from the backfield very well.

Another fun draft day. I can breathe again as the vikes took a QB. I think the rams were the big winners. Their front 7 looks pretty scary now. The bills get the sure thing of the draft. Watkins is a ready to go player. Oakland got a great OLB but I'm not sold on their QB. The browns make things interesting with getting Johnny. We tried to trade up to get him after passing on him with pick 9 but the browns got the pick from philly with a better offer. Trading up for bridgewater with pick 32 is ok by me. I'm not rushing out to buy a bridgewater jersey like I would've if we got Johnny but I'll wait and see.

The official I love Dom Tyson thread
How many games has Tyson played in his career? He plays with a lot of composure and that goal came from not having a panic attack in the heat of the moment.
