  1. I like this idea but I'm sure Freo having that pick before us would take either one available.
  2. I agree Rusty, I'm not sure exactly which way around but I'm thinking we bid on one of Green & Henry at 3 then the other at 4. If we land either of those two at 3 I will be very happy. A top class mid if GWS don't match and if Freo don't, the best small forward in the draft who will be electric on field and has his head screwed on off it. We can't lose either way, if they match we will have weakened the hand of 2 Clubs and still have the first live pick. Am I right in thinking we'll have potentially removed pics 6&7 before our pick 8? What I need help with is the tactics either of those may use to downgrade their pics, would there be an advantage for them to do so other than ensuring those pics remain so we lose that advantage?
  3. I can add a little to this. I know his Dads brother very well and met another of his Uncles and can absolutely vouch for the quality of his family. Extremely hard working, ethical and motivated family,
  4. Happy to support this. I like his intensity and you'd expect him to improve over the next few years. Off field, I don't like his dress sense but having said that I can't look away either!
  5. Just for accuracy he signed a 4 year extension/deal, currently contracted until end 2020. Very happy with this and I think there is still a lot of upside. I dare say he fancies himself as MFCs Dusty, and I reckon and assume he'll be striving to achieve that level. With his durability "touch wood/head" he can play 200. Absolute fairy tale that would be for a kid who grew up a Demon!
  6. Rewatched Henrys highlights, he will be a star and is an impressive young lad, so yes an early bid as you say by us or Carlton would be on the cards.
  7. With Freo having Robertson, Jackson and Henry around their picks why would they trade?
  8. For the love of the game, with us or someone else, Harleys best would be a treat to watch!
  9. Agree, Freo will take one of Robertson/Jackson at 7 and will be praying to land the other at 10.
  10. Think you're right, each time I've seen that ad I've tried to put a name to that face.
  11. You've convinced me Red Welcome to Melbourne FC........Jack Martin
  12. Warms the cockles of your heart doesn't it ?
  13. I've always been nervous against Port that he could get a hold of us, fortunately it hasn't happened. Though he hasn't been in top form recently a change of Club could reinvigorate him and give us 2 years of class and experience. Definite yes from me!
  14. Have to agree Norm, showed genuine improvement this year and had me looking forward to another potential click up in trajectory. How can anyone say he's reached his peak? He improved, logically he can improve further. He made some genuinely strong and exciting plays. The only reason you would move him on is, as has been suggested he refuses to or just cannot adhere to the roll given? I dunno, I thought your game plan can and should evolve from the talent you have at your disposal. He has talent, harness it and create a team that isn't from some rigid idea!
  15. It's almost got to the point where, if their name ends in Pickett, Rioli or Jetta and they are available at your pick............you just take them!
  16. Yes and I'll be very interested to see how many games they get out of him next year!
  17. Just what we need. But, the lengthy injury interruptions and with this brief current stint making it the perfect timing for him and Collingwood to help him secure a longer contract elsewhere, add the fact it's our bogey recruit from team. I am on high alert!
  18. I haven't looked up his stats and correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've seen of Ollie he is an excellent mark of the footy? I've been thinking this is an area we need to improve and Ollie would be strong in the contest on the ground and in the air. I'd dare say he'd become the top contested mark in our midfield group Max aside. I think he would benefit our side due to this and would happily see him added to our list.
  19. That's partly what I was meaning, they've done very nicely out of trading with us, but mainly how lousy trading with them has been for us.
  20. Happy to leave this one with the FD. I have vivid memories of his tenacious dangerous effect, defenders chitting themselves. As already noted came back from that personal leave and has struggled since, that injury this year has clouded where he's at even further. His age shouldn't be a problem due to his build, his head space is where it's at.
