  1. Was wondering if we'd hear from you this week- good commitment! Love the podcast. The only thing I don't like is the Grand Old Flag at the start and end, because I have a weird superstition about hearing the song after losses... Clearly this is completely irrational! Looking forward to the next installment, hopefully some more positives to talk about.
  2. "He's excited a lot of people at Demonland". Why, yes.
  3. Quick, add it to the Smile vs. No-Smile tally!
  4. Just bumping this to remind everyone that they can stream the game here: http://aflcommunity.com.au/index.php?id=495 Let's make it 2/2 today. Go Dees
  5. A win is a win. Hopefully can make it 2/2 today with the women's game starting at 5.10pm Stream here: http://aflcommunity.com.au/index.php?id=495
  6. No! This post involves too much reality! It's bringing me down after all the beautiful fantasy above.
  7. Thanks! Love an (almost) coast to coast!
  8. Do you remember which quarter that goal was in? It was definitely the Geelong game right? I'm trying to find it on the replay to relive its awesomeness but can't seem to find it.
  9. "In a move which is expected to irritate Collingwood..." Sounds good to me.
  10. Seems like a good time to revisit:
  11. It totally embiggens any vocabulary.
  12. I love how everyone got around him and flew the flag a bit. There have been times in the past few years where stuff like this happens and there has been zero reaction from the players which I feel like contributed to our overall sense of downtroddenness.
  13. I actually tick most of these boxes... you can decide how conceited I am re: hotness. It's nice to be a human curve ball. Represent!
  14. I didn't pay much attention to what he was like at Collingwood, so was wondering, has this always been a deficiency of his? It's so frustrating how he gets hands to the ball but so often doesn't complete the mark... it's like he's centimetres from marking everything, every time?
  15. The way his teammates got around him for his 'first run' a month or so ago, aside from whether he ever makes it back or not, was heartening to see in terms of team culture. It shows he's valued around the club but also hints at a strong bond in the group.
  16. I just love how steady and even he is in everything he does. You can really see him thinking his way through things (not in a slow, bad way!) I feel safe when the ball's in his hands, knowing that if he makes a mistake, he will do everything to get it back, putting his body on the line to even get a fingernail on the ball in the right direction.
  17. The stutter run-up might disappear over summer, but I think we all know the true secret to Hogan's goal-kicking routine.
  18. It's hardly surprising that Daisy would be knowledgeable about MFC history. And it would be kind of strange if, as a woman captaining the first women's team, she was somehow unaware of the historical significance of the women's games. No one could know better than her the sheer persistance and hard work it takes for a woman to continue playing long enough to reach this level. So many girls in generations past have grown up with little ability to see a future for themselves in this game, even at the most amateur, social level. For too many their opportunities came to an abrupt halt at 12, 14 years of age or even earlier. Daisy's knowledge and awareness of history aren't impressive to me because they are the experience of many women who are passionate about Aussie Rules and have not had the opportunity to express that passion on the playing field. What is impressive, as Daisy points out, is the MFC's contribution to allowing this to happen, and of course Daisy's superb leadership in driving that. And of course it's great speech because she rightly puts the MFC's pioneering in the women's games on an equal footing with our many other innovations
  19. Great! Glad to hear it. Sadly I may not be able to make as many games this year so the 3 game is looking like a better option.
  20. Hi all, Quick question, does anyone know if you lose your 'consecutive years' status if you downgrade to a 3 game membership? Thanks! And go Dees
  21. I registered just to say: Awesome!
