  1. I'm extremely happy to see the names we called out this year, however - those saying 'this is our best draft ever/in a long time' - that is impossible to tell at this stage, and impossible to tell for at least a couple of years until we see the kinds of players these highly touted youngsters become. It looks good at this stage, but some need to keep a lid on it, plz. For all we know these two could be the next Scully/Trengove combo.
  2. Fantastic to see Misbah's innings. I never thought we'd win this series but I don't think we should be taking too much out of it. These conditions won't be faced very often. Although this is the case, we really, REALLY need to work on playing spin bowling. Steve Smith is the only player that looks relatively comfortable facing Babar, Shah and Hafeez.
  3. Davey Warner looking very dangerous at the moment and I have to say, Younus and Sarfraz's centuries in Pakistan's innings were really great, for different reasons.
  4. I think this series has serious upset written all over it. They'll have to fight hard to win this.
  5. Definitely. ODI's are obsolete now. We should be sticking to tests and T20I's, which they rely on to bring in those who don't usually support cricket. I'm not a big fan of it myself but it's something different.
  6. Bit of a fizzer this series. Watched a bit of the first two ODI's and I can say it wasn't very exciting at all.

I'd have to agree with that. Doesn't stop him playing some good footy though!

Too many tattoos for your liking Jose?

I think they'd probably prefer to stay in their home town, especially if the dad is sick as reported. Probably what any family would do in that situation.

He is great! Saw the Mazerunner the other night and I definitely do not recommend it. Cool concept and based on a book which I haven't read (think it's aimed at teens but gets good reviews) but the script was atrocious, the acting nothing special and although the first half was watchable it spiralled into rubbish the last hour.

I saw the trailer for The Equaliser - looked like a storyline that has been done to death but Denzel isn't in a lot of bad films, so I think I'll check it out.
  12. A deal like that would really be fantastic, I agree. Petracca is the kind of player we have missed over the last few years (excluding Viney who was always coming to MFC) - formidable body, tough in and under and very competitive so I'd like to see us draft at least one of these guys this decade.
  13. I haven't been following Petracca very closely until today, when I read a few articles and watched a bit of footage. Not a lot of research admittedly but I already get the feeling we need Petracca like we needed Ollie Wines a couple of years ago. I bloody hope we get it right this time and I bloody hope the Saints don't try and take him at one, which I think is now a very real possibility.

Having difficulties with the editor at the moment but the shoot went very well! Recently saw the sequel to the Raid (The Raid 2: Berandal) and it's very good. There's very little substance to the story of each movie but I haven't seen martial arts action sequences as brutal and physically impressive as these - both films are highly recommended though not for the squeamish or those who don't like foreign films with english subtitles (so much better than listening to stupid dubbed voices). And I'm directing another short in three weeks! Hopefully the first will be finished soon and I can share it with the DL community.
  15. Agree with this. Wasn't early consensus that he'd go pick one? If he does, he'd be a good fit for the Saints (if they stay on the bottom).
  16. Farmer was the most exciting player we've had in recent memory. Here's a toughie - who was more exciting, Farmer or Jakovich?
  17. I'm sure more than a couple of recruiters saw the man child Membrey as the second coming of Jack Darling and got overly excited. The Coniglio situation for me is very similar to that of Dom Tyson. Hasn't played much but is highly rated and shows flashes of being a really good young player.
  18. Howe arguably generated more when he came into the side though there is more reason to get excited about JKH, he's got more than just a big leap. Note: Howe is developing his game well at the moment but when he came in he didn't have much else aside from his jump.
  19. Great game from him this afternoon. Looking to be a real drafting masterstroke. Can we get the title of the thread changed though? It's a bit misleading.
  20. I'm not as impressed by Templeton as some are so far, but boy haven't we heard that line before? I'd have loved if we forgot about the attitude for a second when we were considering Dustin Martin, or Jack Darling.

    Worst sequel in recent memory.
  22. Don't believe it. I'd be happy if it happened for I think Jay will be a good player for us, however it makes no sense. Just incoherent trolling again.
  23. Carlton already lined up to tank, beautiful. You can guarantee they won't get a fine either.
  24. No one will be paying that much for Frawley. If the article had any truth to it, it would be his agent throwing out a ceiling amount to start negotiations. He'd probably receive realistic offers of around 500K to 600K IMO.
  25. It absolutely is. People who are blase about losing him and couldn't really care less are delusional. It would be another huge blow and the effect it would have on our ability to keep and bring other players to the club can't be underestimated.
