  1. I get this (but don't totally agree), I don't understand why the AFL is holding back the date for this fixture. surely it wouldn't be that hard to make a commitment, and allow the clubs to organise travel for the fans. What's to be gained, delaying the date? It seems another case of who cares about the fans, as long as the TV guys are happy. In regards to the flights and accommodation I will attempt to cover all possibilities for Fri, Sat or Sun with my flights, so arrive Thursday, Fly home Monday, no reason why the club couldn't do this too
  2. As a flow on to this discussion, is the club doing enough to entice the members to the game? Others have already spoken about game day experience, fears and expectations, I wont rehash. HOWEVER (in bold for effect0. I am interested in travelling to Alice Springs for the Round 18 clash with Port. Firstly (though no fault of the club) I have no idea which day of that weekend it's on, so arranging flights is like entering chook lotto (sorry chook). Secondly, I contacted the club to see if there are any organised packages by MFC for this fixture, and the reply was: Thank you for contacting Melbourne membership. We don't have any flight packages available for this game unfortunately. Tickets are not yet on sale for this game, we will communicate with members closer to the date when these are available to purchase. Thank you for supporting our club. Have a lovely day! Kind Regards, Chloe This seems like a lost opportunity to fill Traeger park with Red and Blue.
  3. I think this is quite clever from Hardwick, it's a way to have a go at the umpires without attracting the usual fines. The media will go nuts about the state of the game and Hardwick will have subtly made his point.
  4. It seems GA tickets aren't available for the Richmond game until 9 am tomorrow, and watch the price gougers kick in, surprised if anyone finds tickets under $60
  5. TRying to buy 4 GA tickets for the Richmond game, I have logged in and selected GA (Best available), but it doesn't give me anywhere to click to buy. Are GA tickets not on sale from 2pm ??
  6. Tassie Thylacines (just rolls off the tongue)
  7. I'd be really concerned if we were playing GF football in a practice match, skills are always below par this time of year. you need to build a year, plenty of improvement to be expected, and we know we have the talent.
  8. Did you see Max, give Trac a serve after his 50m penalty.?
  9. Greg Parke for me replacing TMac. How i loved those crouching springing hangers.
  10. One of the funniest and Scariest thinks I have ever witnessed was a Victoria park. For some unknown reason there was a hot dog stand in the middle of the crowd opposite the social club end, and I saw 4 Collingwood supporters tip the hot stand to an angle of a bout 45 degrees, with the hot dog guy madly clinging onto each side of the booth, (and hot dogs sliding along the counter) until one of the local constabulary, casually looked across and said "I think that will do boys", and they tipped him straight again
  11. Unfortunately the website crashed on me, half way through, showing me all the correct answers. But great effort to put these together
  12. Got my membership pack, on Chissy Eve, which included my scarf, stickers, a hat badge (Premiers) a card which I asked for (but it doesn't have a barcode) and a medallion on a short rope (not sure what this is for?...Can any one help?)
  13. I had a similar experience on Sunday. I walked into the ground at gate 3 and decided to grab a cofee before the celebrations, and stood behind two guys that sit behind me in my designated seat on game day. Much celebration as we have not seen each other since "who knows when" (pre CoVid). Was really nice seeing them again. If you are on here guys, look forward to seeing you again Round One
  14. Why does the AFL insist in dribbling out the fixtures. FFS just anounce the all the games when they have worked it out. I find it infuriating.
  15. NO reminds me of the Port crowd, singing "Never tear us apart. I liked Hell's Bells, unfortunately it doesn't flow well into "It's a grand old flag"
  16. Dillon for me . his partnership with Parke was what got me excited in the Dees in the beginning. I have a soft spot for LJ too, a career, like Sean Charles, just wasn't to be.
