Went to the Freo game in Perth last year, they have a live band playing at all the breaks. Couldn't hear myself order a pie.

I don't think you should leave Sandilands out of this picture. I remember him dominating and being seriously scary to negotiate. Unfortunately became injury prone in his later years, but some sort of player and I think sits comfortably with these two

Thanks Andy, I also did the history thing and have booked from Weds to Mon, I will keep an ear to the ground for any official club events too. I also sent the AFL an email (doesn't hurt) to ask when they might release the times. I did have a fantasy of spending a night or two at the Ross River resort, which is why I am keen to know the dates. thanks for the response. (I love this site)

Thanks BBP booked my flights today, would like to book accommodation at a couple of places around Alice, makes it difficult when you don't know the exact date of the game

I have one wish, that the AFL don't dribble out the fixture timeslots like last year. I tried to get to Alice for the game, by the time I actually knew what day it was being played on all the accommodation had gone and the airfares were 5 times the price.

I shouted myself hoarse, even got a "chewy on ya boot" for their first miss on goal. I did my bit. Would have been nice not to have to line up for half an hour to get 2 metres up in line at the bar to sooth the throat too.

I was at the G the last time Melb played Sydney in a final , lets hope for a similar result: 1987 Melb 21 23 149 to Syd 10 13 73 What a day. I remember it rained nearly the whole game, but Melbourne handled the ball like a dry day. Great memories. I remember shouting at Healy, that he should have stayed a Demon. (Not that he could hear me of course)
